Does anyone know where I can get overlays for the CCW games? I just picked up ABWE, CMM and BBEC on ebay (3 bucks each in good shape!) but no overlays. If anyone here has some extra ones (even a kids controller) I'd be interested in buying or trading for them. Thanks,

Tempest - thanks for the info. That would be great if one of those homebrew authors could pick up the torch where Dan left off... Does anyone know why EA was cancelled? Was it the fabled 'crash'? If so, I wonder why Atari didn't finish it during the 'rebirth' period from 86-90. They would have certainly had a winner on their hands. I was playing my copy of the proto at CGE and everyone that came by was REALLY impressed with the graphics and gameplay - we even had some fun with the obvious bugs that were there. I must say, though, that I didn't have the patience to wait for the last elevator - it took forever!!

Does anyone know how to get a hold of Dan Hitchens? I wonder if he would be interested in finishing up EA - it's so close to being a GREAT game. It's a shame he had to stop when he did - or maybe he has a later version...

Don't laugh too hard, but I've actually gotten *hooked* on ET the last couple of days (finally was able to get ET rescued too). I read somewhere that the HSW's initials are somewhere in the game (with ET turning purple or something...). Does anybody know anything about this? Thanks,

Well - I answered my first question by upgrading to version 2.8 (I guess the original programmer stopped at 2.6c). Now, of course there is another question: How do you throw a pitch in Realsports Baseball? I've figured out the hitting and running, but when I press the button and move it allows me to move my fielders but that's it. Am I missing something? Does anyone have the instructions for this game? Again, any help is greatly appreciated.

To all: Which emulator (if any) should I use to play 5200 games under Win2K? I am currently trying Atari800Win but I can't seem to get any games to start (they are loading, but F4 doesn't seem to 'start' any games!). Keys like '*' and '-'(=#) seem to work fine. Favorites would have to be Volleyball and Tennis. Growing up RS Baseball and Football seemed cool, but with Super Football and Pete Rose Baseball these will probably never be played again. Soccer would have been good, but unfortunately it was missing one vital element (well, maybe more): a goalie!

My three brothers and I got our Atari for Christmas in 1978 after playing Combat for hours at the local Barker's department store. My mom bought the game without us knowing and set it up for a suprise on Christmas morning. It still ranks as the best Christmas ever. Anyway, we got the following games: Combat Air-Sea Battle Homerun Basketball Street Racer Breakout Surround Indy 500 Starship We played Air-Sea Battle the most. Excellent 2-player game.

I agree on the Double Dunk review - it has it's quirks but overall it's the most enjoyable sports game (imo) on the Atari 2600 next to Super Football. My only regret is that I haven't been able to play against any human opponents on either, which I'm sure would be even more entertaining. PS I do, however, think Adventure and Ms. Pac-man are also fantastic and belong in the top 25 games for the 2600 (again, imo)

Over the last year, I have become re-aquainted with the vast library of games for the 2600, either through emulation or my old system and 200+ games. With hundreds of games, every so often I come across a 'pleasant suprise'; a game that I really enjoy playing that I didn't even know existed or ever got to play back in the 80's. For example (*=awesome): Beamrider Bump 'n Jump *Crystal Castles (per Tempest's rave review) Double Dunk Frostbite Gravitar *Jr. Pac-man *Midnight Magic *Millipede *Montezuma's Revenge *Pete Rose Baseball *Pressure Cooker Star Wars - The Arcade Game Stargate Super Football Up 'n Down Are there any other 'gems' out there that anyone else would like to share?

Thanks for the tips. I just booked my flight and I'll be there in August. Should I bring any cartridges for trade? I mean - is that common at these sort of things? Also - what "classic" games are represented? Is it mostly Atari, Coleco, Intellivision, etc. or are there arcade games too? Just wanted to know because I coaxed my brother into going and he's not a 2600 fanatic like myself (not yet anyway)... Thanks

Thanks Alex and Tempest for the info. EA was one of the arcade games I really enjoyed playing as a kid and I'd love to see the 2600 version. Does anyone know whether EA will be sold in other locations besides CGE? I'm in Connecticut and NV is a loong way away!

I've read a few threads about it's existence but was very suprised that I couldn't find any definitive proof that it was real... After browsing the Atari Age game info database, I was pleased to see the TV screenshots of the AD&D protos for the 2600. Does anyone know anything about these games (i.e. actual existence of, game play description, % complete, etc.)? Thanks in advance...
