  1. I was wondering how you really do to double 2k ROMs if you gonna burn them into 2732 EPROMs? Cus i think you need to do that if I am right? I have a TL866 MiniPro programmer and I'm not sure how I should do that really, like what settings you press or so, anybody here that has experience with that programmer or something similar? And if you want to burn 4k ROMs to 2732 EPROMs I guess you just burn them as normal without change any settings or something if i am right?
  2. Aha, yeah guess i don't have that special chip then unfortunately! :/ But anyways, keep up the good work!
  3. This game looks amazing! great job on it! I tried it out on emulator a little and it worked well, but when i transfered it to a 32k cartridge PCB and tried it on my console it will not work properly :/ When the gameplay is starting Mario does not appear and I can not do anything, anybody know why this happen?
  4. Any news on this? Will the ROM ever be released? I whould love to play it! And I heard like at least 50 reproduction copies had been sold or something so more people have access to it now, so I really hope there whould be a chanse someone could dump it soon.
  5. Aha, seems a bit rare then mabye? And it's from Europe, i bought it from Germany, so that makes sense then cus the console is from germany it says.
  6. I have found out what these belong to now after googling for a while, It's for this kinda console: http://pongmuseum.com/collection/mbo-teleball-cassette-1.php#p wish I had the console now then.
  7. Thanks for the info so far! I looked and it's 7-pin DIN on these, so guess they do not work for those computers and stuff that was mentioned? if those had 5-pin then? And there are no markings on them anywhere, it does not say anytihng on them unfortunatley. So seems pretty hard to know where they come from!
  8. I got ahold of a bunch of Atari controllers and other old video game stuff, but i could not identify where these two came from. It does not say anything on them, not even a number or so. So I hope mabye someone here knows!
  9. Ok! That seems very easy and so then! ^_^ Think I whould like to get a 32k one to begin with or so, so what whould it cost, and with shipping to Sweden?
  10. 5-11under: Oh! That does seem very nice! And so if im right, you put the PCB in the EPROM programmer and write the game into it and then it's ready to play in the Atari? cus think i whould be intrested in getting that then! classiccollector: thanks! I will see if that may come in handy also mabye.
  11. I'm wondering where i can get PCBs, especially for 8/16/32k games, it seems they are not available to get anyware? Or mabye someone here has some to sell? or guess there is a way to make them yourelf? But seems much work to wire up the pins on the ICs and so, considering it needs that PLD bankswitching IC too, or is there some kinda guide or so somewhere how to wire up an old 2k or 4k PCB?
  12. seems i fixed the problem now, i changed stuff around with anotehr atari i have and it works oki now, and i just need a TIA chip to get them both to work
  13. I have a problem with an Atari 2600 6-switcher, the console seem to work fine at first, but after playing for like a minute or two the graphichs glitches and the game like freeze and stuff anyone have an idea what can be wrong? and its like the same with all games, it works fine for a little while, and then glitches out :/ and also i can say i have AV modded it, with 2 resistors and a transistor, but dunno if that has something to do with it tho. Hope someone can help! Edit: or well, now when i tried again, it seems not any game will start now... geuss it might be one of the 3 main IC chips thats bad or something? or?
  14. i tohught it whould be ebst to buy switches and so, so that auction seemd nice, but too bad they only ship to US and canada... :/ is tehre no other place that has those? and yeah microswitches might be a good idea also i guess, but thought it whould been easiest to replace those dome switches, but i will see what i do, thanks for the tips at least!
  15. I'm wondering where i can get new dome switches for the Atari joysticks, like just the little metal parts, not a whole PCB or so, is there any good place where you can buy ones that can fit for Atari controllers?
  16. I plan to do that Pong AV mod also that was on that german site, but i wonder if you can just solder the wires directly to the Pong AY-3-8500 chip, rather than solder them into some other places on the circuit board? Cus seems easier to just solder to the pong chip cus you see directly where the wires should go, or am i wrong? And on "point 2" can you just solder 4 wires to those 4 legs, and then put them all togeteher? I got all the parts to do this and so, and I just wonder a bit how to do it correctly so i don't make any misstakes, so I hope someone can help! and also i have a completly diffrent console than that one on the site, but yeah it still uses that same AY-3-8500 chip, it looks like this: http://oi61.tinypic.com/2d1o57n.jpg
  17. i have a pic of it now so you see how it looks like, and yes i use it on same TV as before, and other consoles work fine on it and so also. Aha but yeah, i dont have any pots and so, but understand how you mean, it wil be easy to adjust and so then, but i heard that mod is very reliable tho! o.o This is kinda like the mod i made also: http://www.coolretroprojects.com/Atari_2600_AV_Mod_Installation_Guide.pdf and the mod has these 3 components: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9400754/MMGN/Atari%20AV%20Mod/Transistor%20Mod/Transitor%20mod-watermark.jpg and sorry btw i meant transistor before, not capacitor! The Atari i use btw is a PAL 6 switcher. And yes the RF is taken out now, so cant try that
  18. I have AV modded an Atari 2600 with the mod with 2 resistors and a capacitor, i have done it all correctly and i had tested it before, but now it does not seem to work, the picture is like really wavy and bad and so, so you cant see whats going on the screen, the game plays tho and i hear sounds. so any ideas what can be wrong? hope someoen can help! and i took out the 3 big ICs in the atari and tried with 3 other ones from another system, but its the same problem so those seem to work at least.
  19. Aha oki! thanks for the replies! and i just have to deal with some 6 switchers and the chips are socketed, so will be easy to take them out and try them, and yes know one of them sits te otehr way so i will keep that in mind. so yeah will be good to try out and to see wich chips i need new ones of.
  20. I wonder if you can take the RIOT, CPU and TIA chips out from one Atari that is broken, cus i assume that some of those chips are not working correctly, and then test them in another Atari I have so i can see if they are broken or so, so i wonder if its safe to do that? to like take them out and test them one by one in another console? or if there is anohter way to test them?
  21. I think i want to try this mod too beacuse I still got problems with bad picture quality that I talked about in this topic: http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/183421-6-switch-2600-fires-anomatically/ But i don´t really know how to do it beacuse the circuit board on my atari looks diffrent from the circuit board on benhecks guide. here is a picture of mine: Does someone know where i should solder the audio and chroma cables on my circuit board?
  22. I don't think i had any picture problems before I bypassed the chip, but now the picture works fine again after i took the circuit board out from that silver box thing it is screwed into. It worked fine so i putted the circuit board back into that silver box again. But now I have ANOTHER problem! , I had pulled out the cable that goes to the circuit board with the switches. When I putted it back I accidently putted it back out of place so 1 pin was sticking out. At first, i did not notice it so i turned on the console to try and see if it worked but there was only a black screen when I tested a game. when i putted back the cable in the right place it was still the same and some games had gliched graphics so I think i destroyed the console now im sorry to ask but is there anything I can do now to fix it? I feel like an idiot now! If it's only certain games, then it should be the chip closest to the cart slot. They're about $8 from Best Electronics. yes it is only certain games that glitches, most games gives a black screen, mabye i will buy a new chip from that site then thanks for helping me out!
  23. I don't think i had any picture problems before I bypassed the chip, but now the picture works fine again after i took the circuit board out from that silver box thing it is screwed into. 24. I had the atari turned off for a couple of hours and i tried it again now but the picture is still bad, could it still be some problem with the voltage regulator and the capacitor?
  25. You should just buy another chip, but in the meantime. You have to cut the pins close to the chip and bend them away slightly, then solder together. When the fire runs constantly, the chip developed a short internally. Bridging the circuit only works on a no-fire condition. I should have clarified earlier perhaps. It works now, thanks! but is it necessary to buy a new chip now? And now i got another problem, after i had played a while the picture quality became bad. The picture returned to normal sometimes after i switched the on/off and the color/bw button but after a while it became bad again and now the picture will not return to normal at all, it does not help to do a new channel search either, I don't get any better picture quality I live in europe so it is a PAL TV and a PAL console. Any suggestions what could be wrong? I hope someone can help me thanks. And here is a pic of what it look like:
