  1. Ok, my bad, Cartridge Stealer, I didn't read your post correctly, I guess (sorry, been without sleep for almost 24 hours now, and was really squinting at the screen). You said you DON'T believe in him. Fair enough. Disregard my previous post.
  2. Oooh, so you laugh at something that offends quite a few people, but when someone does something that offends YOU, it's time for indignation? Time for "Oh, please don't say anything that offends me, but it's ok to laugh and make fun of someone who's recently died!"? Which one do you want to be, the pot or the kettle? Hypocrites like you are the reason I left religion behind me a long time ago, and I'm definately better off for it. I'm not even going to go into "thou shalt not STEAL".
  3. Would someone please lock this damn thread? Jesus Christ.
  4. What about "frying" the system to get the strange effects? That has to be the first time you could do that to a game system (I know later systems like the Sega Genesis could also have odd things happen by pulling out a cart while the power was on and sticking in another one). How about the first "double ender" cartridges, the Xonox ones? Maybe mention how the system is actually moddable to be able to output to S-Video, and how there's a large community dedicated to doing this and researching new ways to mod the system? Oooh, and mention how the Flashback 2 is able to be modded for a cartridge slot!
  5. I've seen those for sale at flea markets for 10 to 20 dollars. Not worth a whole lot except for cool factor.
  6. Yup, they do. I've personally seen it when they brought a bunch of stuff to OVGE one year to show off. Pretty damn cool. Air Raid with the box I'd say would be one of the hardest to come by, with maybe Pepsi Invaders up there as well.
  7. In the first movie, when all 4 guys are talking to the mayor, Winston says his name and he pronounces it Zedd-e-more clearly. On the cartoon, though, it was usually Zeddmore if I remember. It's short, but you've got a ways to go. There are 3 weapons upgrades. The Dark Matter Generator, the Plasm Distribution System, and the Meson Collider. You get them in that order. The Dark Matter Generator isn't useless, though. The Shock Blast secondary fire is one of THE best weapons in the game. You'll find yourself using it almost all the time in the last couple of levels. The Stasis Stream is kind of lame, though.
  8. Some of Murray's lines on the 360 are VERY muffled. Play with the subtitles on, for sure. Am now going back through the levels, getting my Tobin's Spirit Guide and Cursed Artifacts filled in. Also wanna get the more oddball achievements. After actually finishing it, this is one of the most fun games I've ever gone through, honestly. I totally love wrangling the ghosts into the traps and such. They did such a good job with this. As for the overcomplicated control scheme, I kind of look at like they're trying to make it similar to if you were using a Proton Pack in real life. It'd be complicated! Sure, the Neutrona wand is point and shoot, but the stream is BARELY controllable, so that sort of translates into complicated controls, I guess. I never had a problem with it once I learned what to do. Shoot ghosts, vent pack, shoot more, let capture stream hit, drop trap, wrangle into trap, slam if needed, pick up trap. The majority if enemies you fight in the game don't need to be trapped anyway, just shot till they explode. I love the new weapons and the techno-babble behind it all. My favorite is the Shock Blaster, sort of like a shotgun. Totally awesome! Couple of gripes, nothing major. Would have been nice to have an on/off switch for your flashlight, and would have been nice to be able to contact the other GBs when they're not with you for advice or banter. Really miss Louis, man. Continuing the relationship between him and Janine would have been great.
  9. I was considering getting a Commodore logo on my upper arm at one point, but could never get the funds up. Now I'm thinking of a the Metroid S logo.
  10. Wow, good find. Never noticed that before. Both games are damn good, too.
  11. My original 2600 boots them on the first try, every time. This is the system I've been playing on since '81 mind you.
  12. Gonna go check this weekend, then. Sweet! Where abouts in the store would I look? I don't shop for clothes in those fancy schmancy places.
  13. You should be able to find an O2 console super cheap nowadays. Yeah, it would be cool to do on the 2600, especially since you could use the Star Raiders controller or something in conjunction with the joystick.
  14. It was both Page and Plant bitching, really. They felt that licensing their music was "selling out". Love Zep's music, but like Lars Ulrich, they're prima donnas.
  15. Really? Never heard of Jimmy Page? Gutarist for Led Zeppelin? Page and Plant? Jack White I can see, though. He's one half of the former White Stripes band. I'll say, though, that it DOES take an immense amount of dexterity and skill to play GH at the highest levels, and that can train your fingers to move quickly and accurately, so it may lay the groundwork for actaully learning to play. Damn, an updated Kaboom!? That is like THE most spot-on thing I've ever heard anyone say. Like, ever. I would have never thought of GH that way, but it's very true. Still, I'm a fan and always will be! The funny thing is that some of the most skilled guitarists in the world actually LOVE the game. Buckethead, Zakk Wylde, Nugent, Tom Morello, Slash. Page may be a good player, but he has nowhere the mastery of Buckethead. White is a shitty player all around, nothing but hard distortion string bending and feedback. Ugh.
  16. Oh, that's not including my PC and DOS games, either, nor my Apple IIe and Commodore 64 games on floppy. Add that together and you're probably looking at another 5 to 6 hundred.
  17. I see this all the time on youtube, too. Some of us CAN'T play a real guitar. I know it may sound KA-RAZY, but I simply physically cannot play a real one, period. I've tried, my fingers just do not work well enough to do it. So FUCK them. Since when did anything Jack "I can't believe my whiny ass voice and shitty music ever made me famous" White matter?
  18. Well, I finished it tonight. Pretty damn sweet overall! Very short, though. 6 hours and 18 minutes of playtime, and I bought every upgrade. Didn't finish the collections, though. Wanna go back and get that for sure. Hopefully there will be come DLC coming soon to increase the replay value.
  19. It's difficult to say overall, though. You never know what will ultimately become the hardest to find games on any given system. Still, optical media games do NOT command the prices that some cartridge games do, simply because of the nature of the media. It's easy to copy for one. You don't see any games made on CD/DVD that get the prices of some of the rarer 2600/NES/etc. games do, and likely never will.
  20. After watching some youtube vids of the Wii and PS2 versions, I gotta say... Damn, they SUCK. They went with a super cartoony look to the GBs, and Ray looks NOTHING like Dan Akroyd, ala the Real Ghostbusters cartoon (how come they made me fat and have red hair?). The gameplay looks to be essentially the same, but you'll be distracted so much by the ugly character models (they look like they have clown feet). Thank GOD for the 360/PS3/PC versions. Just finished the Library and am a little ways into the museum level. So far, I've had a lot of fun, and am glad I picked it up.
