  1. "Oooh, that's a big boy, isn't it." Best. Espisode. Ever.
  2. Don't get the 3rd party guitar, the Flying V one. Harmonix has gone back and retro-coded GH2 to make it incombatible with the game. It'll only be good for GH1. Get the new matte finish red and black guitar that's coming with GH2 instead.
  3. Pro Wrestling for the NES is my all time fave. I personally enjoy the modern wrestling games much more, as I totally adore the create-a-wrestler and entrance features. Day Of Reckoning 2 is SO frickin' awesome. I happened to be playing some of the old WWF NES games via NESTopia last night. EWWW. All of them suck SO badly it isn't even funny, and all of them came out long after Pro Wrestling which is a wonderful game. Glad to see the quality of things has improved.
  4. Actually, as far as VH goes, I'd much rather have had Panama I got the demo. Awesome stuff. The two songs that look like they're gonna end up being my faves are Madhouse and Who Was In My Room Last Night.
  5. Actually, read Seanbaby's rendition of what goes on there. It's a lot funnier. Most disturbing moment? The beginning of Silent Hill when the demon children attack you with the butcher knives and you have absolutely nothing to defend yourself with. Yikes.
  6. There's only a few on the song list I'm not familiar with. Sword - Freya Tattooed Love Boys - The Pretenders (Though I was never a Pretenders fan) Living End - Carry Me Home Apart from the indy stuff that'll comprise the bonus songs, I've heard pretty much everything on the entire set list, or own the cd that the songs are on.
  7. I love the Coleco. Your best bet to find a working one is either off of ebay or a website that specializes in stuff like this. The controllers DO suck, though, so be prepared to spend some time getting used to them. I still play the occasional game of Donkey Kong on mine.
  8. It's all about Alice In Chains for me man. I'm so feeming for this frickin' game it's not even funny...
  9. I got mine yesterday and have been having a blast with it. YYZ is still giving me some problems on Expert, but I'll soon overcome. Less than a month till the real thing hits the shelves folks. My social life officially ends on Nov. 7.
  10. Eternal Darkness is one of the main reasons that I bought a Cube in the first place. Top notch gaming right there. The first Clock Tower is insanely scary. Some serious doo-doo in the drawers moments in that one. For most of the game you play a character that is almost completely defenseless. All you can really do is hide, and even that might not save your life. One of the single most atmospheric games ever created. 2 was more action oriented and I didn't care for it much. 3 was even worse, and was kind of a joke if you ask me. One game that has slipped under the radar is for the PC. It's called Obscure. It's just like a teen slasher flick. GREAT gameplay mechanics. If you have a good pc, it's definately worth a go. Silent Hill 2 is great as well. In my opinion, it's the best of the series, as 3 is really dull and 4 seriously veers off from the original game styles. Resident Evil 4 is a phenomenal game, but not as scary as the first three (and you MUST try Resident Evil Zero as well, it's awesome, as is Code Veronica). Doom 3 is one of the scariest experiences you're likely to have. You'll be on the edge of your seat the entire game.
  11. Well, I see myself as a gamer. Not a classic gamer. Not a modern gamer. A GAMER. I like 'em all, new and old. I can sit for hours playing the most inane NES game, then fire up Guitar Hero and waste the rest of the night. I'll play a 2600 game till my fingers bleed, then load up Prey or Doom 3. I just like gaming in general, and to be honest, those who stick to either one system or one generation are missing out on a LOT of fun stuff.
  12. http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/341977 It's the intertubes!
  13. Well, I for one should see some lightening of my fianancial strain by next year, so whether you'll accept it or not, I'm gonna try my best to donate some to the show next year! I know there will be others who will do the same thing, too.
  14. Question about this emu. I just downloaded it, and I'm having trouble getting the control pads to work properly. I'm using an (awesome, btw) Saitek Rumble Force controller. It works great with every other emu I've got, but for some reason NEStopia won't let me use this OR my Wingman Precision controller. Every time I click on the Set button to map a key, it just maps the same key over and over. Any suggestions?
  15. Hear, hear. PE was one of my fave games on the PS1. Unfortunately, PE 2 changed the formula around so much that it didn't even seem like the next game in the series. Oh, PE 2 was a great game in it's own right, it just felt more like a side story to Resident Evil rather than a continuation of the PE storyline. Here's hoping that we get a next-gen PE game sometime before I die...
  16. I think you actually have to duck to dodge the spin punch, but I could be wrong. It's been some time since I've actually fought him.
  17. I've always had more trouble against Super Macho Man than Tyson. I can whallop Tyson in the 2nd round every time, but SMM usually does me in. My advice is to learn to duck REALLY fast.
  18. I don't have a 360 yet, but I must say that I totally love your avatar, Kepone. Big John may be gone, but he'll never be forgotten.
  19. I got mine way back in '98 on closeout at Best Buy. Complete in the box for 3 bucks.
  20. Am I the only one who liked Starfox Adventures? I thought it was a very well done platformer. The challenge level was just absolutely perfect. Sure the story was throwaway, but the game itself really shines in my opinion. Now, as for SF Assault, I actually didn't like that one. It looked like the graphics took a step backwards, more like a late generation 64 game, especially as far as the character models were concerned. Of course, Starfox 64 is still the reigning king of the SF games, no question there.
  21. The Centipede one isn't quite as bad, though. Sure, they were on something at the time, but it looks like the saved the good stuff for that Joust commercial! Yeah, and you gotta love his reaction to the line, too. "Well, I am an executive!" totally straightfaced. Lol!
  22. My GAWD, I'd never seen those Joust and Pole Position commercials before. What the HELL were those guys huffing? The Pole Position one's ok, kinda Monty Pythonish with the giant hand coming from the sky, so I can sorta see where they got the idea for that, but what is up with the Joust commercial? I mean...damn.
  23. DUDE! I've wanted to see that Vanguard commercial again for ages! Who destroys the Gond? Luther destroys the Gond! HUUHUUHUU!!! I so want a .wav of that for my shutdown sound. The Nintendo Adventures Of Link commercial is way crazy, too.

    OVGE 2006

Great pics, Rob. I must say that the show is the highlight of my year. I love talking to everyone again. We must NOT allow this show to die, and I will shove the money into Jesse's wallet if I have to to ensure that OVGE keeps on going!
  25. Ok, done with Black Mirror. I'm now heading through one called Post Mortem, and once I'm finished, I'ma go to Comp USA and buy it's sequel Still Life. I'm enjoying the HELL outta these games right now!
