Question, Crossbow, are you gonna have name tags and tents again this year? I kept mine...BUT, it's in a box somewhere and I'll be darned if I can remember where I put them.

Diablo 2 is a great game....and so is PSO. I had mucho fun with it on the DC. Got my character to 100 on the original, and then to level 140 on the Version 2. Had some nice rare weapons (non gamesharked) and enjoyed both online and single player very much. I suggest you at least try it as it's pretty cheap now.

Went in yesterday and found 3 games. Turok: Evolution for $5. HORRIBLE game. Omg, it's like playing a FPS through a fish eye lens. The edges distort! What is this, a DOS game? Anyway, for 5 bucks, it's still better than no game at all I guess. Wrestlemania 19 for $10. LOVE this game. One of the most deep create a wrestler features I've ever seen. Gonna have to spend some time on this one. Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers for $10. Love this one, too, even though I haven't spent much time on it. Will have to when I get some time. I'm going to the other TRU across town tomorrow to see what they have, too. I really wanna get ahold of Medal of Honor Frontline and XII.

I found Ridley to be amazingly hard until I found out about the wave beam trick. I beat the Omega Pirate pretty easily if I remember right, just super missle his armor off, then use the x-ray visor and hammer him when he's trying to recharge at a pool. Been a while, though, so that may be the wrong sequence of things to do to him.

I used to be HUGE into Dark Age of Camelot. Now with the expansions out, it's even better than before. It's a great fantasy type game, similar to EQ, but FAR easier in some aspects. The greatest thing about it is the Realm versus Realm system. You can choose to never once engage in pvp type gaming, BUT, if you want the extra bonuses that getting special xp for defeating players from opposing realms gives you, then you can venture into special "border" zones and try and kill some other players. You never lose xp for dying like this, either nor equipment (and you can't lose levels like EQ). There's pvp things to do like raiding opposing strongholds, taking their artifacts back to your stronghold (and if your realm gets all of 'em, every player in that realm gets a small bonus to their stats or damage), and things of that nature. It's hella fun, and it can be a SUPER adrenaline rush when you're just sitting in a border land chatting with your group and a gigantic horde of enemies tops a hill and swarms you. As for the pve game, it's very similar to EQ, but it's much, much easier to complete quests and solo (and you get equipment appropriate for that level, not something that you need to be level 30 to complete and get an item suited for a level 10 character, like EQ). For 10 beans a month, you can't go wrong.

Anyway, it's been like 10 years since I've played, but I bet the rust will come off pretty soon once I get started. I'll play anybody, anytime...so long as they send someone to watch my table.... :wink:

Well, I'll be lugging the TurboGrafx-16 and the Vectrex wid me again this year, and hopefully I'll do a little better in both the door prize and the gaming tournament departments, hehe. Hope to see ya there, PDF, your table was one of the best presented last year, I thought. The TRON swag was just TOO cool.

Well, so I get the Beavis and Butthead Virtual Stupidity game off of The Underdogs. Took a while to download, since I'm on dialup, but now it won't run. Here is the exact error that pops up. Failed to initialize the Sound system. The Sound system may be in use by another Application. Please close the other Application and hit Retry. (if you select Cancel, B&B will close) And it will go no further. I've tried running it with NO other programs running, but still no dice. Anybody got any idea where the conflict might come from? Thanks in advance!

This just shows the typical disdain for RPG's or any game where you have to think in the American gaming industry. The PC used to be the haven for RPG's and sims, apparently now it's going the way of Nintendo and Sega, more sports, more mindless clones and sequels, and of course, more sports. I'm truly surprised that games of this sort even get made with the average "suit" in any given company thinking that all they have to do is update the player roster and change some minor things and the next Madden game will sell a million copies. (Does it show through that I LOATHE sports games?) God I miss the days of the SNES. Great RPG's one after another. The Playstation was the same.

Could someone possibly either post or PM me a download link? Hopefully one not from The Underdogs, because for some reason, I've NEVER been able to correctly download anything from that site. And yeah, I've followed all their little rules and such. Mucho thankos in advanco.

Notice however the somewhat derisive and sarcastic tone the entire article has. With all the "funny" stuff that was said about classic gaming by EGM, this too shows their scorn for the classic gamer. Bah.

Well then, you'll definately want to check out the Resident Evil games if you want a little replay value, especially RE 2. You can play through it four times, and each time the story changes somewhat (in some cases, that's a HUGE somewhat). I love survival horror games, and these are the ones that started it. I'd suggest starting with RE 0, then working your way up. By the time you play RE 3, that one breaks ALL the rules for a RE game, lemme tell you. The frickin' Nemesis can follow you from screen to screen, beating you to mush. Nothing could do that in any of the previous games. Anyway, RE 0 is probably the easiset of the lot, and I'd probably say that the REmake is the hardest.

I really liked Starfox Adventures. For 20 bucks, it's a bargain in my book. Metroid Prime is THE killer app for the GC, period. Best damn game I've played in years. The Resident Evil remakes are worth looking into as well, and Resident Evil Zero is a great game. Baldur's Gate is great, as is Enter the Matrix. If you like some good multiplayer fun, Hunter the Reckoning is a helluva fun little game.

So, do I like get credit for something since I sorta helped with the design and stuff? I DID mention that the Fuji looked like a tree...suggested it be green...etc. Hehe.

Good score, Kepone. No, I don't think you paid all that much. Maybe a little high, but these things are getting harder and harder to find, so. Anyway, get a copy of Phantasy Star, pronto. AWESOME game. Golden Axe Warrior is an enjoyable Zelda clone. God, there are SO many great games for the SMS it's hard to list them all!

I'd keep Adventure. Of course, I also have the Adventure Plus hack cart (which totally rules, btw), so it'd probably be a toss up between those. If nothing else, I'd still get to scream "Somebody get this freakin' duck away from me!" at the screen when a dragon chases me.

Well, the Fuji itself sorta looks like a tree, so just extend the middle part a bit (with brown colored pixels, of course), color the Fuji green with maybe some little differently colored pixels here and there to represent lights. Maybe have something on top for a star/angel. Have some white pixels in the background to represent snow, then just have it say "Season's Greetings from Atari!" Simple, yet elegant. The manual/card should also have at least one recognizable Atari character on it somewhere, preferably wearing a Santa hat. Yar maybe? Hehe.

Metroid Prime is an absolute MUST HAVE. No questions. In my opinion, it's the best GC game and quite possibly one of the greatest games of all time. Enter the Matrix is surprisingly good fun, too. I had an absolute BLAST playing through it, and once you beat it and get your hands on the sword, WOW, it becomes even more fun! RE Zero and the REmake are both excellent. Zero can be dodgy at times trying to control two different characters, but it's still fun. Though, it's no Code Veronica. Starfox Adventures is a very well made little game, too. Very Zelda-like for the ground stages, and very Starfox 64 like for the shooter stages. Highly recommended. Hunter the Reckoning is a great multi player game. The single player is kinda blah, but multi player is hella fun. Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance is an excellent Diablo-esque action RPG. It's kinda short, but you'll still have mucho fun getting to the end. Those are my top GC games, of the ones I have played.

You just can't beat Berzerk man. The Buck Roger's-ish guy with the Gil Gerard lat 70's haircut blowing a robot apart with that teeny-tiny laser gun. It don't get no better than that.

I consider the NES to be one of the greatest systems ever made. Screw all the "But the SMS was technically superior!". Yeah? What did THEY have? Nothing, really. Sure, some of the greatest game series of all time started on the SMS, such as Phantasy Star, but on the whole, the system didn't get near the great games that the NES did. Psycho Fox or SMB3?
