It doesn´t do me any good, though, as my gaming experience is glitches and/or severe input lag. I play on a PC with a slow connection in Norway.

Try with a VPN, if you didn't already.
It works fine, usually, with 50 Mbits/s from The Netherlands, which most people call slow. It's so relative, ha ha.
I suppose it also depends on the game. I tend to love the ZX Spectrum games, as it was my first computer...
"Horace Goes Skiing". Poor Horace, he spent so much time in hospital, over the years.

I know we were discussing earlier about how all these consoles are on the market. Well here is another one with an odd name.  It's strange looking with that dome on top too. I know it's not Amico related but had to share.

    It's not a console.
The white box (prototype) is the Piereader and is an optional accessory for a game service, Piepacker.

It's actually exactly what people were asking Tommy to create, for the Amico.
It's a USB attached cartridge reader, which can take different cartridge adapters for different systems.
There seems to be no reason why it could not also have an Intellivision cartridge adapter, at some point.

The glass Dome is a backers reward/collectors item on the Kickstarter, which was fully funded on day 1.

    What about Day 2???

    :)

I was going to say, "day #2 he'll unbox a controller", but I guess just a single box?
Actually, seeing some mock-ups of the retail box could be interesting!
Maybe for OEB-Pete, he can have a "Russian Doll" style shipping package option. ;-)
One box per video, per day. His state of excitement and suspense would be epic! 🙂

What does a hybrid PC/console do?  What does that mean "open doors to new experiences"?

That's just my wording... just how I see it, not the Atari marketing. I'll PM you about that.

Now, back to the topic here? Intellivision Amico. What is it about the Amico you want most?
Obviously, I read, not "5 min euphoric novelty feeling". :-D Nostalgia or couch co-op gaming?
Tommy wrote lots to catch up on, huh?

Thanks for posting it.  It's good to know what the competition has to offer as well.

OK! To me, they're not competition. It would be like comparing fruit to vegetables. 🙂
As a vegetarian, both are very interesting to me, but they're not ever in competition.

The Amico is specifically meant to be a safe space for family gaming, and couch co-op.
I hope to be happy with an Amico, for the same reasons my family and I loved our Wii.

The VCS is specifically meant to open doors to new experiences, a hybrid PC/console.
I'm very happy with my Atari VCS, because that's what I expected. Each to their own!

There are sadly a lot of people who hate X, and love Y. Honestly, if people think all the
Amico pro/anti camps are unique, you've never seen the pre-launch VCS "discussions".

Please, don't start any of that here, we don't need another Amico vs. XYZ series here!
We have a new VCS forum and this Amico forum. Information is available, both places. ;-)

Yeah... we need to make it attached to our news feed/Twitter/Facebook so it automatically updates.

We had to pull the programmer off of it to add to our U.I. team which is much more important right now.

    We'll get to it eventually.

Yes, great! I guess though it's just an XML text file the app pulls off a server, so getting somebody
to type an extra entry saying "News will resume here, but for now checkout our Facebook/Twitter."
might just be worth 10 minutes of somebody's time. 🙂  Heck, I bet you could get Chuck LB on it! :-D

    Good evening,

I recently saw a new folder on the first system partition called "apertis". Until the last vcs.21 bios update it was not there.

It contains what seems to be the latest firmware.
There is a folder called "apertis" with a file called "fwupdx64.efi" and a folder called "fw".
The folder named "fw" contains a file named "fwupd-12b99262-648c-4265-bafd-eb812fb7eb47.cap".

Maybe there are some answers to the question of updates in it? In particular, although I don't know anything about certificates, it seems to me that there are URLs that point to certificates, for example: http://crl.microsoft.com/pki/crl/products/MicCorThiParMarRoo_2010-10-05.crl0

I don't know if this is relevant or not, if in doubt I'll share. Sorry if it's not.

The UEFI BIOS has certain certificates pre-registered; they are the ones used for Windows, Ubuntu, Fedora etc..
Microsoft basically generated certificates which could be used for Linux and other distributions needing secure-boot.

When you install Linux, it's also possible to add your own keys, using signing tools, under Linux, for example.
It may be that somebody reading this is expert with this, but for most people it's unfamiliar.
e.g. This Debian page explains that in more detail. 🙂
https://wiki.debian.org/SecureBoot#:~:text=UEFI Secure Boot (SB) is,operating system has been loaded.

Investment capital can't make up for incompetence.  It can certainly magnify it, though.

It looks to me as if they have experience and significant partners, not incompetence but
perhaps somebody needs to contact the team and suggest they come here for advice...?

I'm quite sure I'm never going to be at an Atari hotel location to find out, but I like the
look of what I see. I can imagine if I had a choice, I'd definitely choose an "experience".

    Hey Curly Q,

I liked that Imagic documentary you posted.  It was really interesting.  Thanks for sharing.  By the way, I noticed it said part 1 of 2.  I couldn't find part 2 of the video.  But a month ago they uploaded the full documentary on their YT channel.  So, I watched the rest of it.  I hope we get Atlantis on Amico.

It was, and the guy who uploaded that upload many other old Intellivision videos.
    Search here - https://www.youtube.com/user/ScottithGames/videos

I think this is the complete video, rather than parts 1 and 2.

Coming up on 2 months from their statement... are we any closer to a resolution?  I just received my VCS this week, and I'm ready to go!  LOL

What do you want to do?

Added: (just ideas, because I found these things useful)
    - As well as the games from the VCS store, which I am enjoying... I also did these.
    - install Windows 10, on a USB drive.
    - install Ubuntu, and Fedora, on USB drives.
    - try emulators installed on Windows and/or Ubuntu.
    - use the VCS for streaming games via Stadia, GeForce, Plex Arcade, or Antstream.
    YMMV

  11. The Antstream Arcade update is there tonight, and although it has not made the
login process (which still needs the joystick and ignores a physical mouse/keyboard)
I hope that it resolves the forgetting details. Time will tell. Let me know your result.

It works perfectly for me. I tried various ways to exit, and it always logs me in OK
without asking for the username and password again. Hurrah. Now I'll play again.
