There was a post today from the AirConsole CEO talking celebration. 10M players... This kind of statistic certainly puts into context how accessible casual gaming is now! Their investment in new games for AirConsole certainly makes it nice to have on VCS.

There is a new update for the game, fixing bugs, and affecting difficulty. The difficulty level seems to be a very strongly debated one, and it's often true that developers make a game more difficult than they realise, unless they have a bit pool of new testers to use...

Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A
justclaws replied to Tommy Tallarico's topic in Intellivision Amico
Hey man, that's good to hear! I was really just jokingly asking if you were unwell, because you're usually so amazingly quick. Cheers! Richard. -
Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A

Hey, did I miss this in this thread, or is Intellivision Master unwell? (From here...) https://republic.co/intellivision-amico-tommy-tallarico-this-is-it-final-update-before-campaign -
I just found this nice video showing a game I really want to run on my VCS. I love motor-racing, and not being a rich man, games like this are great for me!

Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A
justclaws replied to Tommy Tallarico's topic in Intellivision Amico
I'm not sure if there is any confusion for others, but this thread is a pinned one IN the Amico forum. It used to be elsewhere, but it was moved. So it's not "there", so much as "here", if you see here... https://atariage.com/forums/forum/372-intellivision-amico/ -
Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A
justclaws replied to Tommy Tallarico's topic in Intellivision Amico
I really think these posts deserve their own thread, now that there is a real Amico forum here. - Tommy also expressed support for that, because things get lost to history in this mega-thread! Maybe you can post them again in a new "Merch"(?) thread (as well)...? -
Amico public play at the National Videogame Museum
justclaws replied to mr_me's topic in Intellivision Amico
Yes, but 100K is just the launch number, and Tommy wrote their goal is still 300K in shops by Christmas. Although maybe less important in the USA(?), Christmas sales in Europe, at least, are the critical ones. Christmas is when most families get together here, whatever their faith, and we hope pandemic allows it! -
Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A

Excellent graphic. Who is the guy? I this person a celebrity in USA, or is this from an app? -
OEB-Pete, better known for his Amico fandom, reviewed this great VCS game here. Indeed, it's a beautifully hand-drawn game, deep gameplay, and I recommend it too! Summary - he's a BIG FAN of this game!

I asked Tony if there was an update on this game, and good news, yes. I'm sure Tony won't mind if I repost his reply from Facebook, here. 🙂 "Wow, a lot of buzz about this Chaos Chassis thing. Hello everyone. Sorry to be radio-silent, just I've got a lot of fires in the oven right now, plus Chaos Chassis ended up being stalled a bit by some significant talks with a publisher. Now that that's out of the way, I'm back at it and will be showing something shortly. In the meantime, here's a shot I don't think anyone's seen..."

The game is out for several days now, and yet another update is pending. It's great to have early-access mode to a game like this, on the VCS. The online play is interesting, but now having bots to spawn for local play, also. Here's the trailer - the VCS looks identical, but supports the modern controller.

OEB-Pete, better known for his Amico YouTube, made a nice review of this game, and if you're still holding-off buying it, it's great to hear his enthusiastic comments! For me, short as the game is, in comparison to some, I keep returning to it for fun.
-
Cool! I am sorry that I did not check, and get back to you, also. I was so busy lately. Anyway, it's great to hear that it was a one-off.
-
Great, cool! Newcomers certainly aren't going to read from start to end of the mega-thread. There's all sorts of stuff lost and forgotten in that mega-thread, which deserves newbie attention! (I got criticised in another forum for creating subject-specific threads, but they are so helpful...)

The developer of this game intended it specifically to be for the VCS, but indeed it's also release on Steam at this point. It is pending approval for release on VCS. Apolune2 needs to be played, IMHO, to understand the couch-coop element too. The developer web-page is here. http://lostastronaut.com/apolune2/

The developers, who also released Boulder Dash for the VCS, have confirmed that this game will also come to the VCS when it's complete, but it's still under development at the moment. Dynablaster, the legendary Bomber is back. The developer web-site is here. (BBG-Entertainment) https://www.bbg-entertainment.com/games/dynablaster

The developer recently confirmed on the Atari VCS Discord that this game is now complete, and it has been submitted to Atari for testing. This may take some time, as a new build. If there's an update, I will post it...

I think Smash-JT's follow-up Intellivision HQ tour deserves a link here. I guess in the future, there will be others, so they might as well be together?!

Well, I've never heard of this problem before, but I guess very few people use only Bluetooth audio. The few people I saw who were using Bluetooth audio with speakers or headphones had no problems at the time, but it's worth reporting to Atari, for sure. As AtariOS is Linux based, and Linux audio with Bluetooth is not a new thing, it's suprising, of course. I can for sure test it myself, but not tonight as right now it's midnight here. I'd be trying a different Bluetooth audio device, and see if I get the same issues - like headphones?

My system is applying another system update today (2021-04-09), when I booted. (Since update #2, updates now run 4/4, 3/4, 2/4... rather than those percentages.) This one is taking much longer than the last one, for whatever reason. YYMV, as my Internet was flaky lately. 2/4 is taking over 10 minutes... Stupidly, I don't seem to have a record of the previous system software version, this time, so I am not 100% sure that this is a global update, or if my system had an issue and decided to update. So, if you get no update, then it's just "my bad". 😕 All done. No BIOS update this time. No problems. Version 20210323.184358.production, Build#963, installed.

Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A
justclaws replied to Tommy Tallarico's topic in Intellivision Amico
Another reason WHY there is a chip supply is getting worse - a Taiwanese drought, affecting the world's largest chip fabricator, TSMC, in Taiwan; don't forget climate. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-56198269 This is a very interesting article for people who do not work in the tech industry. However, it's not all bad news - Taiwanese man gets his phone from dried up lake! https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-56685406 -
OEB-Pete, better known for his Amico coverage, made a video about the VCS store. In the comments, people asked about comparing Amico and VCS, but I do believe, myself, that they're not for the same niche. The Amico is being marketed as family couch co-op system to mums and dads, and the VCS store will be more diverse. I would love to see some game cross-over one day, like there was in the old days! (I recommended he overcome he not overlook Frog-Hop, which for sure is the most visually retro-games in the store, but once played, it's a great game, with charm.)

If you want to pre-order from EBGames in Australia, now is the time to do it. The first batch of Black-Walnut Atari VCS consoles, I believe. See their Twitter. https://twitter.com/EBGamesAus/

OEB-Pete made an interesting review of the game, discovering the joys of a VCS! It would be great if does more VCS reviews, and introducing a wider audience too. Give him some encouragement to do so with a comment! 🙂
