  1. Here we go. On July 19, 2003, I scored 270,550 on Pac-man Plus using Mame32 version 71. Watch for a particularly cheap move by the computer on the first Galaxian board. --Jason pacmanplus.zip
  2. 300k on any pacman game is friggin awesome! You should record a .inp file so we all can watch I should have added a caveat, on the Jr. Pac-man game I started with 5 men. I do have a recording of a Pac-man Plus game with a final score of either 250,000 or 270,000 from earlier this year. I can't remember which, but I will look for it tonight. --Jason
  3. Update: Still Mr. Do! and the various Pac-man games. I broke 300,000 on Jr. Pac-man (without the speed up) recently, and my Mr. Do! score is now up to 776,000. --Jason
  4. Is that a swingers board? Actually it might as well be with some of the people who post there. But really, its primary purposes are to discuss swing dancing and to engage in flame wars over politics. www.swingoutdc.com --Jason
  5. Believe it or not, someone posted it on a swing dancing discussion board I go to. Must be a slow day over there. --Jason
  6. What on earth possesses people to do this sort of thing? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...&category=22702 --Jason
  7. If that's real, I think it's the most amazing display of hand-eye coordination in video game history. --Jason
  8. My interest was rekindled back in 1999 entirely by accident. I was reading a computer magazine which had an article claiming you could find virtually anything for sale on a mysterious website called "Ebay." I decided to check it out, plugging in some random items I'd owned as a kid into the search engine. Eventually I typed in "Atari 2600" and, to my amazement, thousands of items appeared. It was this discovery that led me to start bidding. My budget was much tighter then, so it took me about a month to win a system with two joysticks, a pair of paddles, and Defender. Next I went after a few of my favorites as a kid, Ms. Pac-man, Yars' Revenge, and Eggomania. Almost five years and 434 cartridges later, my collection continues to grow. --Jason
  9. Speaking of Gauntlet 4 for Sega Genesis, has anyone ever beaten this game in "Quest Mode?" I vaguely remember killing a dragon at the end of the game, at which point you're supposed to win some kind of treasure. Instead I was somehow send back to the beginning of the game. It was quite disappointing and frustrating, as it's pretty tough to make it to that final dragon. Anyone have any info. on this? --Jason
  10. I'm just working on getting all the label variations for now, then maybe I'll worry about the different serial numbers. --Jason
  11. I remember reading the thread about that a few months back, but no I don't have that cart. I didn't include that one on the list because I figured it was a one of a kind thing that no one else is going to have. Also, it's still not listed in the Atari Age database. --Jason
  12. With a couple recent Ebay purchases, I now have every Sears game in my collection, with the exception of six Sears picture label games. They are: Adventure Asteroids Basketball Night Driver Pong Sports Gunslinger Does anyone have any of these for sale/trade? --Jason
  13. Take a look at the price on this gatefold 61 Basic Math (at the moment $61.00, ironically). http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...egory=3528&rd=1 It pisses me off because last summer I needed a little extra money and was running out of room to hold all my boxed carts. So I ran an auction for all nine gatefolds that ended at a measly $46 bucks! True, this Basic Math looks like it's in great shape, but so were 8 of the 9 gatefolds I sold. It just doesn't make sense. --Jason
  14. That's $164 bucks more than I paid for my MIB Montezuma's Revenge. Guess I was luckier than I thought on the auction I won! --Jason
  15. I would also be very interested in getting an NTSC Ghostbusters II. Is there an "official" sign up list somewhere? --Jason
  16. This thread is the first (and hopefully last) time I've ever seen the words "Swordquest" and "best" used in the same sentence. --Jason
  17. I once snagged a copy of Mr. Do's Castle from an auction for an Atari and 50 or so games. Set me back about $150 IIRC. I remember being so thrilled that I was finally going to own my first truly rare Atari 2600 game. But when I got the game, I was so shocked at how bad it sucked that I couldn't resist the temptation to sell it and make some of my money back. Now my collection is at 429 with nothing over a rarity 6. My goal is to reach 500, which I can probably get by sticking to the cheap and miserable games. --Jason

    I like E.T.

I like your avatar RCmodeler, but I question your taste in Atari 2600 games. E.T. was terrible back in '82 and it still is today. --Jason
  19. Yes and now send it to me. I have one of these with my boxed Popeye...and no I'm not sending it to you either. --Jason
  20. Yeah, I've played it too and was amazed at how bad it was. Sega dropped the ball on this one big time. --Jason
  21. I have one these too! The label is in pretty good shape. I've had a few dozen copies of Yars' Revenge in 4 years of collecting and it's the only red one I've ever seen. --Jason
  22. Holy crap! I just read your review, and now I'm probably not gonna buy this cart even though I've been waiting years for Nintendo to release SMB3 on Gameboy. How on earth did Nintendo manage to screw up one of the greatest video games of all time so badly? Fortunately I do have a GP32, and the original SMB 3 works perfectly on it with the Little John emulator. And you can save which was the only thing missing from the original. I sure hope River City Ransom Ex turns out better than this! --Jason
  23. Check out this Ebay listing that was posted on a non-gaming discussion site I go to. Be sure to read the whole thing! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?MfcIS...item=3146042998 Imagine what this guy would have to say about some of the collectors on this site! --Jason
