I bought a new sealed in box Jaguar that I thoroughly enjoyed opening (and playing!), I enjoyed it so much that I bought another sealed in box Jaguar. Do you guys think a mint condition/sealed Jaguar will be worth any money in 20-30yrs?

Great review! I enjoyed it a lot. Its always nice to see new Jaguar content out there.

Awesome start man! I'm new to the Jaguar as well. I wanted one back in 1994 when I was 9; I finally got it about 4 weeks ago. That was a steal on Defender 2000, wow! I am trying to find myself a copy. A local store here in Dallas has it for 39, but it is just the cartridge. Hopefully one of these days someone will find the thousand(s) copies of Defender 2000 in some warehouse so the damn price will go down haha.

New Atari Jaguar unboxing! Impressions, pictures, etc...

The links for the pictures should work, I just tried them while at work and they came up fine. My second New Jaguar arrives today! I am going to keep this one sealed. Although, I may open it and keep it as a spare just in case the one I have now breaks. Addiction. -

I don't know what it is, but I have tons of systems hooked up to a 32" HDTV here, and while almost all of them look noticeably worse with the conversion, for whatever reason the Jaguar just looks crisp for lack of a better word. I'm also running composite, as is nearly every other classic system that I have hooked up, and for whatever reason it just looks cleaner. I have no earthly idea why that is... It really is amazing, I can't believe how good Wolfenstein 3D looks. It is VERY crisp. -
I received my Jaguar about 2 weeks ago and I absolutely love it! So far I have Doom, Tempest 2000, Wolfenstein 3d, Hoverstrike, Iron Soldier, Cybermorph, and 2 extra G model controllers. The B model controller came with the system. My favorites so far would have to be Tempest 2000, Doom, Wolfenstein 3d, Cybermorph, Hoverstrike, Iron Soldier in that order. I really haven't had a chance to give Iron Soldier the playtime it needs. This happens with both of my G model controllers. The right side overlay slots aren't large enough. I think the D PAD/BUTTONS are superior on the G model, while the Cable, connection are better on the B model. The Jaguar actually looks fairly good stretched out on my 42'' HDTV via composite cables. I would have got SVideo, but my TV doesn't have the input. Why, you may ask? I always wanted a Jaguar as a kid, it was seen as unattainable from my 9yr old eyes. I can't explain how I feel right now, pure joy. Next up: maybe another B model controller, Alien VS Predator, and Defender 2000. And a new Jaguar CD from Best Electronics. This is addicting! Thanks Best Electronics and The Goat Store for all of the goodies! I am now spoiled, all of these were new/sealed in box. Now I seem to want to find everything new/sealed, but I have a feeling AVP and Defender 2000 may be hard to find.

Does anyone have a problem with their overlays going into the 2 right slots on their G model controllers? The right slots are tiny compared to the ones on the B model controller. I love how the G model feels, but the B model controller doesn't screw up the edges on my overlays. This happens with both of my G model controllers. For those of you who don't know the difference between the G and B model controllers: G model: Serial number on the back of the controller starts with a G. The cable is thicker, the dpad feels better (not as clicky), and the buttons have more of a spongy feel to them. The connection into the Jaguar is firm/snug. B model: Serial number on the back of the controller starts with a B. The cable is thinner, the dpad is clicky, buttons have a click to them. Also the controller port fits loosely into the Jaguar. Does anyone else have this problem? The G model controller screwed up my Hoverstrike overlay on the protruding sections that fit into the right side of the controller. It is an extremely tight fit for those protruding edges. I am new to the Jaguar scene after wanting one when I was 9, I never got around to owning one until now. It is a FANTASTIC system, but some of the design choices and cost cutting are mind boggling. I still love it though! I actually just ordered another 'new' one from Best Electronics! Looks like the Jaguar CD is next.

Maybe some of you can help me out. I really want Alien VS Predator, it doesn't have to be boxed or even come with the instruction booklet. I just want the game and overlays new in the plastic bag. How much would this go for? Also, where could I find it? Also, how much should I pay for Defender 2000? Does anyone know where to pick up a copy? Thanks everyone!

I got the 2 meg version! Its not as annoying as the 1 meg cartridge (lack of things said). Awesome animated intro screen as well.

OK, Dan from the Goat Store just emailed me back. He is going to send me another Cybermorph manual, he has never seen the manual I have. Thanks Dan!!!

I purchased a New boxed copy of Cybermorph from The GOAT store, and I'm unsure about a few things. On the website it was listed as new, but not shrink wrapped. I get the game (it was shrink wrapped), open it and discover a photo copied manual, and an overlay that is very shiny. This is not like any other overlay I have. Here is a picture: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/912655/2011-07-15_22-44-23_140.jpg I'm not sure what to think. The Goat store guys seem like stand up guys, but I'm a little disappointed.

I may get the CD add on in a month or two, but from what I heard these have a high failure rate? It is going to be a wild experience next week opening a 'new' Atari Jaguar. nuts. Oh, Best Electronics said the Jaguar comes with a 90 day Atari warranty. How would Atari even honor this?
-
Yes, read the blue text at the top of their website... That is amazing, I wish we had some more back story on this. Some pictures of their stock would be cool as well.

Over the years I have always wanted a Jaguar, and yesterday I finally ordered a 'brand new' Jaguar from Best Electronics. This is surreal. I remember begging my parents for the Jaguar when I was 10 or 11 years old, I never got one. I had no idea brand new sealed Jaguars still existed until I stumbled on to Best Electronics. The Jaguar should be here next Thursday! Next week I also plan to buy Tempest 2000 and Doom, new in box from Best Electronics. Then Alien vs Predator as well. Any other suggestions? I will be plugging the Jaguar into my new LG HDTV, no S Video ports. I will be using composite, so I hope I can control the aspect ratio and that it looks decent. Best Electronics sounds fantastic, I cannot believe they still have sealed Jaguars, games in stock. I am in shock. Does anyone have any info on how they have so many Jaguar products, new and sealed at that! Is there any place in the Dallas/Fort Worth area to buy Jaguar games? Glad to be aboard!
