Great lyrics by my favorite band.🤘

  2. I got in on the original pre-orders for the fully decked out model (see what I did there? 😜) and I'm excited for it. I'm actually a MacOS user normally (my iMac machine is a beast built for Final Cut video editing) and so the Steam Deck will be my most modern Windows based gaming PC. I plan on trying out a bunch of Steam games and GOG.com stuff on it. Should be fun!
  3. I never did pick up the Atari VCS... kinda waiting for the price to get around $99 since the reviews for it were so "meh". Love the design of the machine though!
  4. I was lucky enough to get a review unit and stack of new arcade cartridges for the upcoming Evercade VS. Figured I'd post this here since the review has a lot of Atari gameplay footage and if you have additional questions for me, fire 'em off. Overall... it appears to be a well thought out gaming experience designed for couch co-op multi-player at a pretty reasonable price (starting at $99 for the unit plus one controller and one multi-game pack. The controllers are fine, but I definitely preferred using my trusty wired XBOX 360 controller so I could play games with an analog thumbstick. Also...the ability to hot swap the cartridges and sort your games was neat. Overall the UI is one of my favorites of any emulation system so far (even easier to navigate than the PolyMega, which I also really like). And like before, everything is fully licensed, all physical cartridges with a full color manual. Do you have the Evercade handheld and/or is this VS on your radar?
  5. I have certainly slowed down on the big collector's editions in recent years... only jumping on the ones I'm really excited for.
  6. I was playing the C64 version of H.E.R.O. recently. I appreciate the updated graphics, but I think I prefer the clean simplicity of the 2600 version more. Am I crazy?

Montezuma's revenge is better in other version (Atari 8bit & Commodore 64) since they have more rooms to explore.

    3. Keatah

The original H.E.R.O. released on the VCS was/is the best version. Graphics simple enough to let your imagine come along for the ride.

Game-play matters, clutter and eye-candy loses it's charm. The 2600 delivers a smooth crisp experience and let's your imagination do it's thing. A nice clean, simple graphics game that's easy on the eyes and enjoyable. H.E.R.O. on the 2600 is one of the best.

  7. Summer is coming to a close already!? 😢

True, it is a bit of bummer that summer is coming to a close.  But, that means that Fall is approaching which includes the return of sports like basketball and (especially) football, holidays like Halloween and Thanksgiving, and cooler temperatures.

    3. Serguei2

      Summer is gone. :(

I which it would stay forever even if we had really hot days.

  8. I've been casually watching the build up to the release of the VCS... but that $400 price tag w/ controllers is just way, way too expensive. And now that every reviewer basically says that the store is anemic, it sadly may be dead on arrival. I'd love to potentially cover it on my YouTube channel in the future, but Atari will need to fix those two things before my audience would probably care at this point.
  9. This comes from Game Over Games in Bellevue, Wa. Just give them a call and ask. I'm sure they'd be happy to answer any questions you have about it as I assume they tested these when they bought them.
  10. I walked into Game Over Games in Bellevue, Wa yesterday and saw these Atari 2600 & 5200 developer cartridges in their display case. Employee said that a local Seattle area collector traded them in a few days ago (and supposed has a lot more). Figured I'd share 'em here and if any local collectors are interested, maybe they should stop by. Not sure how they arrived at the prices, but perhaps that's negotiable?

My favorite of his is “one time i put instant coffee in the microwave and went back in time”.

  12. I'd love to see another Activision Hits / 2600 Anthology collection for Switch...or even the Atari VCS!?!

    1. Hwlngmad

Considering all of the other compilation titles that have come out on the Switch, seems like a no-brainer to me.

    2. Keatah

Yeh? Well I want another 2600 ActionPack for Windows 3.1!

    3. TwentySixHundred

How many packs do we need

  13. There's a new STYX album today. Their 17th release & it sounds pretty good!

Saw them in the early 2000s I think....pretty cool. Though the Jersey guy singing along to every song got annoying....

Nice, thanks for the heads up!!  ELO had a release a decade or so ago that was pretty great (their more recent was a big dud), and so did the Cult.  Styx are / were much heavier than I think they get credit for.  Witch Wolf is some great headbangin' stuff :)

    4. SpiceWare

Nice!  They need to put out a few more to catch up with Sparks, they released their 24th last year and are currently working on their 25th.  They released a new song with Todd Rundgren a couple months ago, he'd produced their first album 50 years ago.

I was wondering where I heard that quote from before... it was sampled in this track.

Now that is food for thought.

Rock 'n Roll might not solve your problems, but a couple of rounds of ROCK N' ROLL RACING sure as hell will. :)

And on the 8th day.......God created Rock 'N Roll! 🤘

  17. Hey man! I couldn't help but give your awesome Atari Walkman clone console a shoutout in today's video. Thanks again for making this thing in the first place. It's my go-to Atari 2600 system!
  18. I saw your comment about the GBA "beta" support on the Hyperkin RetroN Sq... well... I got a review unit and you can see the results for yourself. Sadly, not great. Maybe they can improve it by the time they are in consumer's hands?
  19. Nice! I just picked up a MiSTer and looking forward to seeing everything it can do.

Maiden rescued my 12 year old self from Michael Jackson and Madonna.

Madness is actually my favorite album, tho I know it only borders "classic" Maiden.

  21. I was finally able to secure one thanks to a friend. Got the disc version and a copy of Miles Morales. However, Astro's PlayRoom is where it's at! It's a "demo"...but better than 90% of the games I've played recently! Amazing.
  22. Ever since the Xbox One X, Microsoft has done a great job with their consoles...and the Series X is definitely a continuation of that trend. I love mine as well.
  23. In a Godsmack mood today. Been a while since I spun their tunes, but it's sounding great today 🤘

    1. Rogerpoco

I've got to be honest-(relatively metalhead here, with several weenie exceptions, and versatile musician...), I really didn't/don't care for them much, but saw them live in Charlotte, NC once(with Staind? I dunno. I drink a lot), and they were FANTASTIC, I knew more songs than I anticipated, and they really played well/put on a great show, I was highly impressed by the "band effort".

  24. Oh man I would LOVE a sequel to H.E.R.O.
