  1. Ok, guys, keep posting. I want the Gold-painted Intellivision!!!
  2. I was exploring Youtube for Colecovision videos and I found a guy from Singapore that mounted a complete Colecovision in FPGA using only Internet resources. It looks like it loads games from a SD memory but not from cartridge. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeyHQbIAkw4 By the way, the source code for the project is downloadable from http://colecov.blogspot.sg/
  3. I'm fortunate enough that I never found anything weird in cartridges (and thinking about it I've got more than two hundred!!!), in fact some months ago I was going to ask precisely if someone had found something. The most rare thing were some white hairs in an Atari Q*bert cartridge, but that's obvious, it was the age My horror story was with a Roller Controller for Colecovision, I found two small cockroaches along three dead ones and some pubes inside it . Needlessly to say, I passed hours checking everything with lens and cleaning with alcohol, and keeping it in quarantine for a whole month. Fortunately everything went fine, but was very uncomfortable and surprising.
  4. Per this page you just have earn $250 Congratulations! http://www.rarityguide.com/colecovision_view.php Too high prices because it uses eBay as reference so ColecoDan data is more accurate specially because of the scratch in corner.
  5. Wow, Jim!, that's nice from your part. Thanks! I'm going to update immediately.
  6. BTW, just I've updated the Colecovision Homebrew Availability List to show the new games http://atariage.com/forums/topic/206287-colecovision-homebrew-availability-list/
  7. The soldering irons for electronics work typically are between 15 and 30 watts, any of them should suffice. More info http://store.curiousinventor.com/guides/how_to_solder/select_iron/ For the solder I would suggest silver or lead, with normal flux core. Although typically these cores can generate failure after several years, the resulting "paste" dries and becomes capacitive so I recommend to clean with alcohol after soldering. I learnt all this over years, but I've found this interesting article http://store.curiousinventor.com/guides/how_to_solder/kind_of_solder/
  8. I appreciate very much this information, I've added it to my list and also your credit. By the way, also I've added the new PkK games being available today (Bankruptcy Builder, Cix, Search for the Stolen Jewels Crown 3, and Shunting Puzzle) And Good Deal Games has new availability of Destructor SCE, Ninja Princess, Search for the Stolen Jewels Crown 2 (2 copies) and Track&Field (1 copy).
  9. Wow!, I didn't know that Bugs'n Bots is now a classic, at $5964.99 it must be the most rare ever Colecovision cartridge Oh, well, I'm sure is a typing mistake.
  10. Nice collection. And there is a lot of interest!
  11. Yes, it counts. Any homebrew game with box and manual will be included in my list. I've included it in the list. Many thanks for contributing with this. I was able to find the old Retrotopia page http://www.intellivisionlives.com/retrotopia/steam.shtml. I think that the game is sold out as the buy link goes to Intellivision Lives and isn't listed.
  12. At least MSX-Basic used BCD representation for floating point numbers, that was painfully slow. http://edmond.orignac.pagesperso-orange.fr/detokenizer.html Besides MS was never good for making fast programs, I remember installing MS-Multiplan in my CP/M Emulator just for testing and being amazed of how slow was it compared with other similar programs.
  13. I sold him a Atari V-Case cartridge Bowling game for his collection. Everything went fine. He is a very kind person and I can recommend him strongly for any transaction.
  14. I don't think there is a slot extender. A thing you could do would be to search on Internet for the PCB drawing of a cartridge and modify it with a PCB design program (there are some free programs) Then you simply would send the file for manufacturing, also there are several PCB manufacturers in Europe (check Elektor magazine)
  15. I don't want to disappoint you, but the Apple 1 didn't come in a box.
  16. Instead of getting a cradle full of Air Raid cartridges, I would get two of each Atari cartridge, so I would have two collections. One collection to sell at at a nice price (two extra cartridges of each game would not take prices down) and one collection to keep as my treasure Also I would carry with me the corrected Pacman and E.T. I've seen somewhere here in Atariage to replace in Atari offices the master ROM for cartridge duplication.
  17. Makes one to wonder if he/she simply says "this is old, then $500"
  18. Wait!, I'm sure this is the Cosmic Ark special edition where the PCB is made on gold, it's a shame that you can only see the cartridge case in the picture.
  19. Updated with info from latest Team Pixelboy bulletin http://atariage.com/forums/topic/212902-team-pixelboy-news-bulletin-may-31st-2013/ Only remaining 22 copies of Quest for the Golden Chalice and 28 of Princess Quest before being sold-out (no more copies will be made,) Wonder Boy and Mopiranger in BATCH if more copies are requested. All the other games leave the BATCH status and are available now.
  20. Maybe you switched to some blocking IP software. I've had also some difficulties with msx.org, of all the IP that my modem have, only one allows me to access the forum. I don't have virus. But it looks like most people using my Internet provider have virus and obviously the IP are used for thousands of people.
  21. I thought that the fact that it included the comic, guide and manual made it to be reasonable, as I've read here in Atariage it's unplayable without them. And yes I'm very happy!
  22. I translated Ahl's benchmark to Javascript just for curiosity. <script> // Ahl's simple benchmark in Javascript // Public domain by Oscar Toledo G. (nanochess) var a, n, i, r, s, t, m; t = new Date(); m = 0; do { r = 0; s = 0; for (n = 1; n <= 100; n++) { a = n; for (i = 1; i <= 10; i++) { a = Math.sqrt(a); r = r + Math.random(); } for (i = 1; i <= 10; i++) { a = Math.pow(a, 2); r = r + Math.random(); } s = s + a; } m++; } while (new Date() - t < 1000) ; document.writeln("Times " + m); document.writeln("Accuracy " + Math.abs(1010-s/5)); document.writeln("Random " + Math.abs(1000-r)); </script> Put it inside a file named benchmark.html and run it with your web browser. As modern machines are too fast, the test runs until a whole second has passed and it shows how many times it ran. If someone noted it, the accuracy value indicates to how many digits is exact the floating point core, so it should be a very low value. (the trick is it takes the value, takes square root ten times and then squares ten times, so the value theorically should be the same but cannot because of floating point implementations)
  23. Oh, I see now why I could not progress in the game . Better I'll go to download the manual.
  24. Hi everyone. I want to share that I've got my first R9 cartridge , a Swordquest: Waterworld with manual, comic and guide. I got it here at Mexico for $94 USD in total, reasonable because the guy delivered personally it to me. The cartridge is in pretty good state except for bottom label that is a little dirt, the comic is in almost mint state, the manual has a break on right side and the guide has a scratch in bottom. I think it's a little pricey but anyway I'M HAPPY Still I've to test it. Anyway, a small doubt, this would be the second cartridge (the other is a Berzerk) that I note that from bottom you can see the springs inside the cartridge. Is it normal? The guy gave me also a badly worn Earthworld as a gift, anyway I've cleaned it and it could serve me to stop the door
  25. It is a shame but Colecovision.dk gives me 503 errors since almost a month: Service Temporarily Unavailable.
