I found this one in ebay http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2F290882924060%3Fru%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.ebay.com%252Fsch%252Fi.html%253F_from%253DR40%2526_sacat%253D0%2526_nkw%253D290882924060%2526_rdc%253D1 I know where to find one loose by US$30 but the label is totally grey, no remaining bits of blue. So in fact this makes me unsure about if it is really a Sammy Lightfoot cartridge.

Wow! currently at US$3600. A collector's piece indeed. Some part of me would like to have it, and some other part of me says it's pointless... well, the pointless part is winning by around US$3600

How come there hasn't been any new Apple II games in like 10+ years?
nanochess replied to PDog's topic in Apple II Computers
The Apple II was more popular for business and school than for gaming, remember Visicalc. As far as I can remember, very scarce arcade games were ported to Apple. -
I'll wait even more, I've decided to wait for the 100% perfect nameplate
-
and in games planned for 2013 don't forget Mecha-8 that improves significantly its music with the Super Game Module

Seeing that LadyBug and Smurf's are so economical and impossible to open for cleaning without damaging the label, that you probably should get replacements. Try this http://atariage.com/forums/topic/168225-fs-colecovision-cartridges/ You can use a screwdriver and "attack" through the label, open the cartridge, clean all the PCB with alcohol and cotton, dry carefully, and there is a good chance that it could work.

Did Atari 2600 carts ever come sealed?
nanochess replied to Nemesis23's topic in Atari 2600 Programming
Cartridges never were shrinkwrapped, but boxes yes. Unfortunately I've never been able to resist the temptation of opening a sealed box -
I'm a little lazy about getting an Intellivision and a proper Flash cartridge.

Activision cartridges prone to failure
nanochess replied to nanochess's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
Haha, it requires a lot of effort to pull out the PCB without the plastic bitting your fingers Amazingly the plastic doesn't breaks and the screws don't jump by the air I'm glad you could make your Activision carts to work. I tested PCBs directly (both H.E.R.O and Zenji without case) in my Colecovision and them didn't work until I cleaned them. -
First time ever I've seen assembly source code for Intellivision. Interesting!

I've got recently a number of Activision cartridges and has surprised me that tend to fail in a great number. The first one was Pitfall II - Lost Caverns, it failed after a few seconds, I did cleaning of contacts with cotton and alcohol and it still failed, but I noted that the case is made of soft plastic and though it has screws it can be opened using some thick things at the sides without disrupting label or removing screws. I used two thick USB memories as claws and I extracted the PCB from the inside, I noted that there was somekind of grease over it. I rubbed it generously with alcohol, dryed it with cotton, and it worked just fine Recently I got Zenji and H.E.R.O. NIB and guess what, both didn't worked. I applied same trick and managed to get them to working state I'm sharing this just in case someone has this same problem with Activision cartridges. I'm thinking that the automatic mount line of cartridges PCB used some kind of solder paste and with enough time it becomes conductive and makes the cartridge to fail. I have also two non-working Coleco cartridges but these are impossible to open because them are made of rigid plastic, so the only way is to remove label and I don't want to do it because the label is in excellent state.

I would prefer to wait a couple of months to get the perfect SGM , thinking that mail could bend my replacement nameplate, so yes, I'll wait.

my dead copy of Fast Eddie (pics for the curious inside)
nanochess replied to Kulp's topic in Atari 2600
Have you tried to clean with cotton and alcohol all the PCB including the pins of the chip? I made one Pitfall II cartridge to work this way, it had some kind of grease. -

Yep, also I've learnt to think carefully my posts before publishing them . A suggestion: please don't start topics if you're in angry mood. Just for your info, if your post gets out of control at least in Marketplace you can edit your posts to remove your text if you like (thought not delete post) and then you should ask to a moderator (check top part of each forum index) to lock the topic. But if you put a post saying "please delete topic", somehow (the Murphy law) everyone will re-read the topic to put their own opinion and jokes

I was running around eBay just for fun and I've found several curious things. First of all, a Fall Guy cartridge (it was not a prototype?), besides it looks too new to be original: http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2F321104818795%3Fru%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.ebay.com%252Fsch%252Fi.html%253F_from%253DR40%2526_sacat%253D0%2526_nkw%253D321104818795%2526_rdc%253D1 A Gulkave cartridge at US$99.95 (it is still available at a lesser price in Good Deal Games): http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2F161005205294%3Fru%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.ebay.com%252Fsch%252Fi.html%253F_from%253DR40%2526_sacat%253D0%2526_nkw%253D161005205294%2526_rdc%253D1 But wait, here comes the most interesting: Ghostblaster CIB, US$570 http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2F281028540948%3Fru%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.ebay.com%252Fsch%252Fi.html%253F_from%253DR40%2526_sacat%253D0%2526_nkw%253D281028540948%2526_rdc%253D1 Jeepers Creepers CIB, US$435 http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2F281028543014%3Fru%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.ebay.com%252Fsch%252Fi.html%253F_from%253DR40%2526_sacat%253D0%2526_nkw%253D281028543014%2526_rdc%253D1 Sky Jaguar CIB, US$375 http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2F280993632698%3Fru%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.ebay.com%252Fsch%252Fi.html%253F_from%253DR40%2526_sacat%253D0%2526_nkw%253D280993632698%2526_rdc%253D1 Ninja Princess CIB, US$390 http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2F281021206109%3Fru%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.ebay.com%252Fsch%252Fi.html%253F_from%253DR40%2526_sacat%253D0%2526_nkw%253D281021206109%2526_rdc%253D1 I've heard that a Q*Bert Qubes CIB was sold by US$400 some weeks ago just for point of comparison.

Colecovision homebrew availability list
nanochess replied to nanochess's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
That's ok. I'm glad of helping you with your doubts , besides it is the purpose of the list. -
The common number for 4K EPROM is 2732/2732A/M2732A, though I think them could be obsolete. Alternatively you could search for PROM. The E indicates erasable with ultraviolete light, without E means it is programmable only one time. Other common numbers: 2764/27C64 = 8K 27128/27C128 = 16K 27256/27C256 = 32K 27512/27C512 = 64K

Colecovision homebrew availability list
nanochess replied to nanochess's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I don't cite distributors until main publisher is sold out. By the way, just a moment ago Opcode announced that Yie-Ar Kung Fu is definitely sold out, so the game now is completely unavailable. To celebrate this, he has just released the ROM (check the Yie-Ar Kung Fu thread in the Opcode forum) I've decided that only when games get sold out I'll put a ROM tag along to indicate that the ROM file is available. -

Cye is now sold-out. Yie-Ar Kung Fu lowered to 4 copies available (I ordered one ). -
I ordered just in time. By the way, Yie-Ar Kung Fu has been sold out?
