I've update my entry for the JS1K with a radioactive green halo
http://js1k.com/2013-spring/demo/1504 -
Thanks J-F!, by the way, I've managed to found the secret hidden image of Brigitte Bardot (for everyone in the forum, in title screen just press 3-0-0-5 in keypad, enjoy it!)

What a nice collection! I suppose them are duplicates of your main collection I would bid for it, but I'm only in loose cartridges. Recently I got this one http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2FQ-Berts-Qubes-Colecovision-CARTRIDGE-MANUAL-%2F330746398600 with help of a couple of friends

Firefox suddenly says AtariAge is "Not Trusted"
nanochess replied to wood_jl's topic in Site and Forum Feedback
Same for me, just delete history. But anyway Albert said it will change the certificate in one week, so don't worry. -
A way to lower prices, reduce total number of chips and getting rid of scarce chips is to use an FPGA, it could contain processor (a Z80 and even a 16 bits proc), video chip (there are 9958 cores), sound chips (PSG, FM and more), decoders and peripherals. The ROM and RAM would be external. The source for the One Chip MSX is readily available. Besides I've researched a little the topic and the FPGA could generate DVI video (doesn't require royalties and there is enough info in Internet) that can be converted to HDMI using a common cable available almost everywhere.

It is normal that at some point a Colecovision fails, in the case of my Colecovision I hope than that will be in 100 years Chips can oxydize, traces can oxydize (though the mask helps to protects them,) or it is simply static happening during cartridge insertion that spreads along a chip like a lightning destroying or weakening internal connections.

Colecovision homebrew availability list

Updated list with changes in cartridge case for Super Game Module games from Team Pixelboy. Collectorvision says that few copies of Armageddon are available. Corrected mistake in color for Way of Exploding Foot, black cart is limited edition and normal is pink. Removed MORE keyword and replaced with BATCH. -
Wow! you're right, the last weekend at last I've found the hidden item and area (how it looks?, well, it is kind of rounded...) I had to repeat several times because it's easy to crash and even there is an animation for it. Plain amazing!

The Colecovision is able to manage a linear ROM of 32K, the cartridge port has four different lines to decode zones of 8K ROM 8000-9FFF, A000-BFFF, C000-DFFF and E000-FFFF. More information http://www.hardwarebook.info/ColecoVision_Cartridge Any of the original cartridge releases run with 32K or less of ROM and doesn't use any special mapping. Though there are some recent homebrew games that use 128K or more using a special mapper Megacart created by Eduardo Mello (opcode) But if you really want to try games you should get an AtariMax Ultimate SD Cartridge for Colecovision, it can contain all the games you want http://www.atarimax.com

I'm very fortunate to have one copy of this game that I've received as a gift for Christmas. I can say that the quality is amazing, indeed it looks like a game released by Atari, and the game looks and plays great

As an experienced one in the hardware/software field, I can tell you that USB are pretty complicated matters over a Z80 without specialized peripherals and HDMI is far of reach for homebrewers as it requires specialized and costly chips (even with royalties if my memory is right!) You should understand that Opcode has done almost everything by himself and it requires a great lot of knowledge, and you're asking some things that are pretty possible in a Playstation or xBox supported by a lot of people and big companies, but all this would be terribly hard if not impossible for a single homebrewer. People like Eduardo (Opcode) are scarce and they do everything as possible in time and possibilities, including long beta tests because firmware updates are not feasible in most of cases. What you've asked for a Colecovision II is far from being practical.

I was asking for this when I registered for the first time in Atariage, but now I cannot find the post nor who told me the number of six million of units as exact, because he said he wrote a book including this data if my memory is exact.

Updated my site with pictures of my Colecovision games

From what I can see, you should replace the DRAM connected to AD4 pin of TMS9918A (this is what changes a space 0x20 to a zero 0x30 and the vertical lines) Anyway you should check first for continuity (with a multimeter) the data connection to DRAM, also signals RAS, CAS and R/W.

Colecovision homebrew availability list

Let me think about this. I would have to revise all the games again -
I've gave a look, these are classical MSX routines for mapping. You see the MSX allows to map each 16K address to different locations (RAM, BIOS, cartridge). On boot 4000-7FFF contains main cartridge page so it can boot. Then code maps 8000-BFFF for the other 16K (this is for 32K cartridges) using BIOS, but as this is a 48K cartridge, there exists code for mapping 0000-3FFF to cartridge and then returns mapping to MSX BIOS so interrupts works. For a Colecovision Megacart cartridge, the 8000-BFFF always stays fixed and you would change mapping of area C000-FFFF. As SGM/ADAM allows 32K of RAM and looks like the game uses only 16K, you would choose to keep code in ROM or copy 16K to RAM.

Yie-Ar Kung Fu from Opcode Games is now down to five copies. -
I want one... I'll send you soon an email so please save one for me.

This remembers that at the end I didn't get that cart from the lot at Mexico. Well, I'm not really trying to be a collector. So I wish better of lucks for anyone auctioning it

Yep, Princess Quest is a port from my original for MSX but the Colecovision version includes exclusive features like an extra difficulty level, chests with rewards and in world 3 you should collect crosses before being able to fight boss, otherwise the level repeats seamlessly Mecha-8 was developed both for MSX and Colecovision at same time, now the MSX version is freezed because is being manufactured but I'll keep development to include at least something different in the Colecovision version due in Christmas

What games would you like to see released for the SGM in 2013?
nanochess replied to opcode's topic in Opcode Games
My vote was for Penguin Adventure and Yie-Ar Kung Fu 2. About the Castlevania, I remember one version for MSX1 named The Cure, it was a 48KB game for MSXdev. -
The source code for Deep Dungeon Adventure has been published recently here http://www.msx.org/downloads/deep-dungeon-adventure-source-code. I suppose it would be only a matter of asking for permission.

I've got information from Collectorvision that Armageddon is sold out, but still some remaining copies are available at Good Deal Games.
