Colecovision DRAM Replacement Question
nanochess replied to bradd1978's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
It looks like it's lowest significant bit, that would be D0 from Z80 point-of-view, but Texas Instruments wanted to do something different, so its VDP is marked in reverse, so the corresponding pin is 3 (TMS9918A) named AD7. You should check with a multimeter if there is connection between pin 3 of TMS9918A and corresponding data pin in DRAM memory, other signals you should check for continuity are RAS, CAS and R/W. If every line in PCB is fine then you should proceed to replace DRAM chip. I hope this helps. -
When you say, well I will get only the Parker Brothers releases for Colecovision, then you start thinking why not to have the others, then you start thinking in getting the overlays, then you say why not to get manuals?, then you believe you should have boxes, then you see a bump on a label and start thinking in getter a better cartridge then you see a variation label and you think seriously your girlfriend needs a week alone, and when you less expect it, you're saying "my precious, nobody will separate us" I'm kidding

What is a good emulator to hack Colecovision games
nanochess replied to grips03's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
You can single step through the code and insert breakpoints so you can run the game at normal speed until it triggers a breakpoint that stops it. -
In fact I have this magazine were it announces the MSX is coming. From the article it looked like it was going to enjoy a great success! But then nothing.

Cheapest Collection To Complete?
nanochess replied to SoulBlazer's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I suspect that Colecovision is one of the most cheapest collections to complete, counting only the original 131 cartridges. -

BlueMSX doesn't offer currently a way to see the memory in real time, you have to pause the emulator to see the memory. -
What should I do with my original 1983 Dragon's Lair cabinet?
nanochess replied to 4ever2600's topic in Arcade and Pinball
A thing I never do with original things is to modificate them. I think them lose some (if not all!) of its value with modifications. I suggest you to take some pictures before selling it. Just for the records -

Colecovision games doesn't include CRC check, so you can change any byte without problems. Of course, don't mess with headers at ROM start or it will not boot. -
   I couldn't resist, that was simply funny

I've the same satisfaction when I put the finished seal to a game I've to recognize that although I take game development as a hobby, sometimes I have to put some extra effort in a game just to get it ready in time, using part of nights or lunch time. Sometimes I've came so far as to dedicate whole weekends to solve a difficult problem. So I understand fully when you say discipline and dedication. -

It looks like people really liked your previous releases , surely you're really happy. Myself I took the chance to get Circus Charlie and Pitfall II Arcade, so myself I'm guilty of delaying Mecha-8 Just take it with calm and don't get tired , this is homebrew and it should be a hobby not a work -

By the way some interesting info for Zombie Near players: If you wait a little in title screen you'll see a small story and pictures of cast. After defeating the big boss of each map, both Delta-1 and Delta-2 answer differently to the operator if they didn't rescued any scientists. The scientists can be shot accidentally. It happens sometimes if you have a happy-trigger finger. Though I've known of players that do it on purpose, even though there are no points for this. And there are three hidden rooms
