  1. Everyone, thanks for your help!! I connected the SSVA to the VCR and with some TLC and coaxing* got it to display on the LCD TV!! The original problem must have been that the signal from the consoles wasn't strong enough. My original setup had the RCA outs from the VCR going through an RCA selector switch (my TV only has one set of component jacks and I had a VCR and a Nintendo on the selector switch). Hooking the SSVA to the VCR with this setup, I got a really washed out title screen. So, I bypassed the selector switch and hooked up the VCR directly to the TV and with the SSVA hooked up to the VCR's coaxial "in". That worked!! Also, channel 4 looks better in this configuration than 3. *TLC and coaxing = tapping the reset button over and over, moving the on/off switch back and forth, even moving the cartridge around a bit, etc. Interesting note: I've been able to get the SSVA to work so far (although I haven't given it a rigorous testing), but the INTV II is giving me less cooperation. I need to play around with it more. I'm going to baby my SSVA from now on. I could kick myself for keeping it in the attic for so long...
  2. Uh oh... I've tried two different switches and adaptors with both consoles with no luck. Hoping my consoles aren't fried!!
  3. Well the static seems to be coming from the game consoles, if that makes sense. I remember back in the day that tell-tale static and mono sound that would be produced until the cart seated properly. It could just be my imagination. I can't tell, really, because the TV switches to the blue screen before I can fiddle with the cart and reset button. I don't have a CRT handy. I've got a Sega Genesis, though, that worked fine the last time I tried it. I just think it is odd that both consoles are having problems. The INTV II has been in a climate controlled environment since the last time I played it years ago. The SSVA unfortunately has been subjected to temperature extremes in the attic (Mid-South). However, I can tell the power supply is still working because the unit gets warm.
  4. Hey gang! Newbie here! I'm a proud owner of a Sears Super Video Arcade. My dad bought it for him and me back in the day and I still have it. Along the way, I've also picked up an Intellivision II. I've tried to get both units to display on my RCA 720p LCD TV, but with little progress. I'm using the typical RCA plug and connecting that to a TV/Game selector switch. The VHF lead from the switch is connected to one of those 75 ohm (?) "coaxial adapters" and that is plugged into the TV's coaxial port. It's a typical 1980s setup (using the original bits I used back then), only with an LCD TV. Tuning the TV to channel 3 and turning on a unit, I can get "snow" and some typical static for a few seconds. I'm pretty sure the snow and static are from the game units. Then, the snow and static disappears and I get a blue screen from the TV. Any suggestions? My father is down visiting right now and I'd love to play some Armor Battle with him like old times! Thanks, Lee
