Joystick Works In Games, Button Doesn't
Sixteenvolt420 replied to Sixteenvolt420's topic in Atari 2600
You should investigate cheaper shipping. I think you can ship console only for around $10. You are, of course, allowed to do with your property as you wish. If you send it to goodwill, 90% chance it'll end up in the rubbish bin. If you're willing to sell it to one of us, it stands a great chance of being fixed and remaining in the population, and you can get a little money in return. Agreed. I know from Drums, PA to Pgh, PA, it would be less than $10 for the shipping. Oh yeah. I wasn't really thinking about the distance. I was just kinda quoting what it cost best electronics to ship me my Jaguar i bought from them, from cali. Parcel Post i believe is the cheapest, unless i can get away with media mail, which may be cheaper. I guess i could do it for $20 shipped to PA, as long as it was like Amazon gift card or fee free paypal. I'd include the power supply and TV box switch with adapter tip with it though, i'd have no need for them as my 2600 i ordered has built in rca's and a new power supply. If whomever buys it wants links to my refs on other sites, to show i'm trustworthy, i use the same name everywhere i go and have refs on ebay, amazon, game tz, high def digest, cheap ass gamer, high def ninja, and bloody disgusting. -

And? I usually pay up to $20 including the shipping for non working systems on Ebay. Others will even pay more sometimes. I sell good ones for less than that as deck only. For $20 shipped, I'd rather just give it to goodwill or something. -

I planned on trying to sell it to somebody who had the knowhow to fix it. I know it's gonna cost like $16 to ship though. -

Joystick Works In Games, Button Doesn't

Why haven't we done this yet? Like a nice Q and A? It wouldn't be too hard either, just make clickable links to posts for each issue. I do have a long blog post that I came up with, but it doesn't cover things like cd4050 chip. I just noticed you live in Wyano. I was born and raised in West Newton, for the first 13 years of my life. -
Joystick Works In Games, Button Doesn't

Maybe somebody should compile a list of fixes for problems, into one topic then. I tried the search function and didn't find what i was looking for, so i posted a new topic about it. As for the other recommendations, i'll have to unpack it again and try them this weekend, as for the pins, yeah, i have no clue, not technically minded for fixing stuff. -
I bought an Atari 2600 used for a great price. Every game i play, the joystick works fine, but the button doesn't work. I even tried getting some new controllers, only to have the same problem. It is a light 6 switch. Any ideas on how to fix it? I really don't have much technical know how, when it comes to repairing electronics. I'd also be willing to have somebody with the know how to possibly repair it as well. Is it worth getting repaired, or would i be better off just buying one that's already refurbished? Thanks for the help.

Mine is probably Rubik's Cube, cart only, near mint, which i found at good will for $2 plus tax.

I just bought a Jaguar from Best Electronics as well, it's on it's way to me now.
