MyAtari on Ebay, B&C computervision is his regular website, has official Atari 1050 diagnostic disk. look him up on Ebay or call him directly. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1050-Diagnostic-Disk-CPS-800-XL-XE-1050-Atari-NEW/130888382779?hash=item1e798e393b:g:QxYAAOxyXWdQ4zp8 Or I could send you a real disk -
1050 Won't Format Disks? "ERROR- 173"
Umberto replied to DistantStar001's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Ahhh Logic. Hey Jonathan Whats news? Haven't fixed my Rapidus Yet and still no Side 2 to test the U1m software you sent me, But that is changing, beings I went back to work after a 8 month lay-off. Original OP, the 1050 diag disk that Mclaneinc posted, if you can burn it to a real disk, is the best bet to get RPM. It is actually measures in ms for one complete revolution of a physical disk. It will also help you set your track zero sensor among other test. If you cant get it onto a real disk then Nukey Shay's basic listing will do the same thing. -

How did you set the track zero sensor? what is the drive rpm? did you clean the drive heads? 173 is bad disk or cannot format -
Made one for less than 20 with case and all. Very easy to slap together.

GoTek in external Oceanic enclosure
Umberto replied to telmnstr's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
Both internal and external drives must be set to SEL0. Are you inverting the 34pin cable on the gotek? if you are then I would suspect drive select is problematic, which is a function of the Yamaha chip. -
Yup the state

PLATOTERM 1.2 test release with FAST-IO!
Umberto replied to tschak909's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Its basically an R-verter minus the Max 232, I used a sparkfun style level shifter to get to 3.3 volts. FD access raises havoc with the ESP and vise versa, due to the R-verter handler. I use a myide ][ cart, so it doesn't effect me at all. Thom's new rom works great with it. -
Wow that's dedication

PLATOTERM 1.2 test release with FAST-IO!
Umberto replied to tschak909's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
This is my rendition with a esp8622 I did about a year ago. 19200 is pretty snappy on a 8bit. Both SIO ports work. The blue LED is activity. A free hand design, basically just an R-verter and esp with level shifter. I did steal someone else firmware. -
As Dr Venkman stated standard 9VAC 50 watt or so, pretty common and easy to find, be careful from buying used on Ebay, very common they come with a blown fuse. The fuse can be replaced but a pain and you kinda destroy the case. All they are is a transformer and a fuse.
