  1. I had a heavy 6 from either my folks or I took it home from my grandparents house after my uncles lost interest. I don't remember since I was playing Atari since I could walk. My uncles used to take turns that lasted forever at Pac-Man and Frogger. I had the H6 until I graduated college and a ex roommate got creative about whose boxes were whose and it didn't make the trip home with me. Still gets me angry.

Until the NES, my spare time was dominated by C64 and Atari 2600. Good times.

  2. Sorry... HES? What is HES? Its going to bother me all day.

Abbreviations make my head hurt. On another forum folks were referring to a game as StH and I thought they were talking about Sonic the Hedgehog.

  3. You can usually get cheaper from the marketplace forums, but you'd have to pay shipping. 4 games for 16.00.... hmmm... depends on the games. Of course don't confuse rarity and price with "good." The better 7800 titles are often the commons or the stuff in the AA store.

    Commons:

    Joust

    Robotron

    Food Fight

    Dig Dug

    Donkey Kong

The Atari Age store has a ton of spectacular games as well. You could also contact Pac Man Plus here on the boards and see if he has any of his homebrews still available. Moon Cresta, Scramble, and Rip Off were all great. I just regret missing a few of his releases before I started frequenting the boards.

  4. How is it connected right now?

Do you have a modern flat screen tv or an older tube style set?

Are you just running the RCA looking cord from the atari direct to your tv? You can get picture like that but you won't have sound.

The old switch box connector is not necessary and will probably make the image worse on a newer tv.

The little RCA to coax/cable adapter is what you need. You can run it in direct to your tv with that, but surprisingly I get better image running it through an old vcr with that adapter and then running RCA to the television.

Let me know if pics will help.

There are lots of cool things you can do to upgrade your 7800 play experience from video upgrades to controllers. One of our regulars here does an amazing job converting NES pads to Atari pads.
