I saw on facebook that the book is about to hit on Amazon so I'm sure they're crazy busy. I'm sure after the book stuff settles down we'll hear something. I'm really excited to see the book actually.

Great find man! I wish I could find a deal like that around here!

Best Tempest Home Console Port?
gorfcadet replied to Andromeda Stardust's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Sega Saturn.... same as Jaguar, but I believe that version is cheaper. -
Got my H6 from shopgoodwill.com for 14.00 plus ship complete with original parts and a second set of paddles even. Just look at every listing for those curved edges and eventually you'll get lucky. Ok... that sounded dirty.

What Genesis game are you playing right now?
gorfcadet replied to MagitekAngel's topic in Sega Genesis
Today is Streets of Rage and Virtua Racing. Still fun. I wish Sega would make a PSO style Streets of Rage, kind of a dungeon brawl style with drops like upgraded bats, knuckles, etc. A bar could be the central hub and four at a time could "quest." Seems obvious to me, but Sega likes to et old propertties fade away or come back completely half baked. -
The Official "Thrift finds" Thread

Yeah, I have the first 3 of the recent reprints of the John Carter books, but for the later stuff like Chessmen of Mars, The Mastermind of Mars, etc I've resorted to reading etexts. I hope one day to have a nice library bound set on my bookshelf. Getting a complete run of the old Marvel Comics series was easier than getting actual books... go figure. -
Unless its a limited edition or import like a Zelda or Pokemon edition, the resell is about what you'd see at gamestop, ebay, or goodwill. I can't imagine getting much more than 20 to 30 without power supply. For a used flash card? Probably also 20 to 30? Hard to know without knowing the model. Is it an micro sd compatible cart? Its just not old enough or rare enough for collectors to get excited over.

Yeah, the spring might be getting in the way of the plastic pressing the metal surface or just not be big enough to make a good connection? I got the other one up and running just by opening it and adjusting the springs.

Opened one up and got up to work and the fire button... no luck on down. Doesn't seem difficult... just an odd mechanism. I'm sure down works, used a pencil eraser to press the contact while it was open. Have to ponder what physical alterations to make to get the stick to make contact... not that this would ever be my everyday stick. The paint on these cx10s are immaculate... I amazed they ever got enough use to malfunction. The only thing I noticed was that the Atari logo on the stick was missing... just a small indention where they were or maybe someone swapped the rubber?
-
oh yeah, I've been using the system... rotating between cx40s and one of AX's modded nes pads so its the sticks.

Really? That makes me very sad. Well I guess I can't hurt it by cracking it open and taking a look. Can't make it worse anyway.

Good to know Arkhan! Thanks! I guess I'll track down Valis II as well since I don't have it and its on tcd. Anything necessary to play import cds with the everdrive acting as your cd card?
-
Apologies. I know the Sega CD was a hardware upgrade in addition to storage. I was under the impression that the Turbo CD was merely a storage medium drive. It would be nice to not have to worry about what cd driver card you have for whatever game. I only really ever wanted to play Forgotten Worlds on it since I heard it was considerably different.

So this is the second H6 I have ever owned, the first was the one I grew up with. I got a great deal on Goodwill's auction site, H6, original sticks, original paddles, spare paddles, and original AC. The AC and system are both Sunnyvale. Should I retire the AC and get a new one for collectability sake? Also, I see CX40 refurb tutorials and parts, but what about CX10s? I have a couple of dead directions on each stick. Thanks for the advice in advance! I'm just so happy to have my old buddy the H6 back in my home! 👾

Benny, I know its OT but I love your forum pic. The 2XL was one of my favorite toys! Gotta get another one sometime! So what is the game like anyway? It looks kinda like Fester's Quest on nes.
