  1. So what or who is he trying to rescue? Does BB have a princess or love interest? Or is it agiant pot of Honey!
  2. Holy...... Yep. King Bob it is. So the witch will be like a Bowser? Wow. Just wow. I want one by the way when you're done. Wow.
  3. On both of my systems... one had the exp port and one had the port but not the exp inside... the d pad worked fine, but after the first key press button 2 would be stuck on and could not be pressed again. In Xevious it was like having auto fire turned on, but you couldn't change difficulty cause the game would just start. Pole Position 2 would skip level select as well and the gas was always on. Choplifter was like Xevious. The light Ax put it would also stay on after the first button press. Once he switched me to a stock proline cord it worked fine. I think he added something else as well for the resistance issue?
  4. Yeah.... Ax you were awesome to fix up my pad. I was the guy with the problem 7800. I actually have two with the same issue with off brand cords. I'm just that lucky. I'm thinking about getting a third just for kicks, but with my luck.... I'm really nervous about getting an off brand light gun.
  5. Bob... I had never played the game before, but your cart has made me a fan! Great job sir!
  6. Payment sent! Thanks in advance! Excited to play as always!
  7. Bob you forgot me! If you still have room, I'd like one too.
  8. I'm just sad my pc died... I went mac due to my job, but Halo for mac on the secondary market is crazy expensive.

    Tetris on 7800?

Is Klax available anywhere on a cart? I really like that game.
  10. The Euro pad is a step up from the Proline, but buttons 1 and 2 are awkwardly spaced apart so hitting both at once is an uncomfortable twist. The buttons are also less reliable and will stick or skip presses. A converted Nes pad is far superior and makes many 78 titles a new experience. The a and b buttons are properly spaced and the d pad is still the gold standard for reliability with the Sega Saturn v2 pad a close second. If I'm playing to win, I'm using one of those two pads. Ax does a great job on his nes conversions.... Can't recommend him enough!
  11. Me wants a cart too if you're gonna make any.
  12. Aww man, those are nice! I'll post pics of mine later. I'm on my ipad right now. I gave a buddy of mine my Gorf because it was becoming just a money pit, but Defender has always been my heart project. The kid loves Power Drift of course. I have a Virtua On seat I put in front of it so he can play it like a sit down. That SPO is really nice. I have fond arcade memories of it as well... also hoping to see it on 3ds... now that is a game begging for the 3d treatment... why they trotted out Urban Champion and Kirby before Punch Out! is beyond me. Does Japan dislike PO or something?
  13. What is it about arcade Punch Out!! ? I just love that game. That would be nice on the XM, or Arm Wrestling since that has never been ported. Is Karateka two player? I'd put it in and find out, but I promised my 78 I'd never do that to her again. jk. Nice SF cab. I have 5 machines: Pac Man with speedup, UN Squadron, standup Power Drift, and two Mame projects: a Tutankahm cab that is now enjoying life as a Multicade and a Defender cab I'm always piecing back together after some crazy person made it a Sega Choplifter then gutted it, but left the board and nothing else. Off topic I know , but I really get excited seeing other people's cabs.
  14. Yeah, I remember the Double Dragon movie.... it was made well after the game's heyday. It was pretty bad, but Milano was in it yes? I guess I draw a distinction between brawlers (Final Fight) and fighters (Street Fighter). That is just the way I split up the genre. I guess if I could play Karateka worth a darn I would put it in as a brawler, but since I hated it almost instantly I feel inclined to put it in the third category... complete waste of space. Someone at QC should have played it before they put it in a box and sent it to market. Do you really think Kung Fu Master, a 1 plane side scroller; Double Dragon, a faux 3d 2player co-op; and Street Fighter II, a 1 plane 2 player vs title are all the same genre? I love Kung Fu, but I never think of it as a fighter or brawler because of the one punch and down element of most enemies and the level cycle makes me think of it as a very classic twitch arcade game. I guess KFM is very much a proto of the style that evolved into brawlers just like Karate Champ evolved into vs fighters.
  15. Argh! Curt, GB, That is terrible about the expo.... I am so sorry to that happened. What postal provider if I may ask? Still, hats off to you gentlemen!
  16. Thank goodness I read this... the controls are so bad I thought my 78 was broken! That game stinks! If that is the only fghting game, I don't need one! Did anyone care about fighters before SFII? And don't say Karate Champ! You could hear crickets chirp near that machine at my local Aladdin's Castle even when it was new. Still it and Urban Champion were brilliant compared to this thing. I had more success and understanding of what I was doing playing Dragon's Lair blindfolded. I didn't even know if I was controlling it!
  17. Ah, Joust. The last of the launch titles that still eludes me. Only cause I'm cheap. My younger brother and I got the 2600 version that year. Probably some clerk couldn't get it right, but hey it worked in a 78 so we weren't gonna ruin Christmas by complaining to our really cool mom. Still have that copy of 26 Joust. Choplifter is just the devil.
  18. YES! AX is the best! He does such a great job and was super polite. The DK theme was mine and he totally took the time to clean it up and shuffle the elements around so they would fit properly. Can't recommend the guy enough! I still stink at Scramble and Choplifter, but at least now its my fault! Xevious and DK scores a now rocking!
  19. Thanks GB. I worry about silly things.
  20. Curt, I just wanted to check with you on that Pole Position video... I know my PP/7800 will skip the level select if I use a controller with a screwy button, but I wanted to make sure it was your controller and not the XM that caused it. Can't wait to get my hands on the XM guys! Looks amazing!
  21. I just watched the video of the xm test with pole position 2 running on it.... it jumped straight to the qualifying start without the level select. Did the XM force it past the level select or was it your controller that caused that? Just making sure.
  22. Sega CD can play those. I used to have that demo disk that came with it that had a Chris Isaac track and Think About It by Information Society. It was such a neat feature.. I wish more cds had used it.
  23. My best advice is an AV mod or if soldering isn't your thing, get a little rca to coax adapter at a Radio Shack and run it through an old vcr. Works like a top that way in my office.
