    I wish there was a way to make XP work with more RAM. I really hate Windows 8.1 on my laptop.

      I'm sure you've already heard of it, but have you tried Classic Shell? It allows you to boot directly to the desktop and restore the XP-style Start Menu, so you don't ever have to look at the Start Screen if you don't want to.
