  1.

You do realize that my sale was for US buyers only, right? Says so right in the listing brother...

No sense in speculating when you can just ask me directly, that's how rumors get started.

Vcoleiro: Once I get positive feedback from the sale, I'll release the buyers location. They are indeed from the US though if that helps. Fair enough?

No worries, by the way, what made you list it at $17,500 when the other auction ended at $100K?. Did you know the bids on that auction were fake?

  2. I can confirm 2 things for folks interested:

    - The $17,500 sale was legit. It was my sale, and I recieved payment. The game shipped today and the buyer should get it at 10 AM tomorrow.

    - The payment came in a single paypal transaction (my brother posted contradictory info in the NA thread by mistake). I did however call EBay ahead of time and let them know that I was listing an item that exceeded the Paypal maximun of $10k, so I'm not sure if that made a difference.

Can't comment on much else as I wasn't involved in much else, but wanted to shed some light over things some have speculated about.

Congrats. Where was the buyer from by the way ?

  3. If anyone is interested in a TOPO - Atari Androbot Robot let me know. I came across one here in Melbourne Australia. Basically I bought some 80's electronic handheld games from this guy and noticed he had the TOPO in his living room. Apparently it was part of a collection he bought from a small retro museum. It's numbered 66 and seems to be signed by Nolan Bushnell which I presume they all are.

Anyway, I told him I'd post about it here to help him out. I think he said he was after $2,500 but he is flexible, the last offer he got was $1,000 so anywhere in between would be my guess. If your seriously interested, let me know and I'll PM you his contact.

  4. To be honest both consoles bore me, more of the same type games with slightly better graphics. Hardly revolutionary or next gen IMO.

Gaming needs a quantum leap, My bet is with VR. When the Oculus Rift comes out at retail , it will be telling as to whether gaming goes down this direction.

If you haven't read it yet, read "Ready Player One", you'll get a better idea of what I mean regarding VR's gaming future.

  5. Actually I prefer the more openness of MOJO or the Shield in using plain Android. Any Android game can have controller support built in under Android. There is no need to do what Ouya have done, they have done it to ensure revenue as the OUYA is pretty much sold at cost and revenue generated by the locked in modded Android firmware/store it uses.

I much prefer a console that charges a little more for the HW, but doesn't lock you in to their store. Being able to access all apps in the Android store is a major plus.

The other aspect is that using plain Android allows you to update to the newest release sooner and easier. Ouya will lag behind as do smart phones that put their own skin over Android.

  6. Looks like Ouya is going to have competition other than Gamestick and GamePop.

Looks like there is another Android Game Console about to be released. This time its from Mad Catz - Code name Project M.O.J.O

Looks like they are aiming to include a Tegra 4 SOC and to release it Q4. It will also have 2 USB ports so you can plug 2 controllers in if you want (wireless otherwise) plus it will have 16gb storage and uSD slot. IT will come with a controller and will be compatible with their suite of peripherals like keyboards and mouse etc.

Here's a good story on it including photos and video of it.: http://au.ign.com/articles/2013/06/07/e3-2013-mad-catz-project-mojo-android-games-console-revealed?abthid=51b21fe946465c4144000010

  7. The games below came into the Salvo's where I volunteer. The Spacevision games have three buttons , 2 on the top and one on the front. They each have 8 games on them as you can see in the pics.

Plus the other 2 are BMX Airmaster and Double dragon. I'm in Australia so I presume they are PAL games.

I'm trying to get a feel as to how much they are worth so that I can price them. So any idea on this front would be appreciated

  8. Saw this Game controller Keyring on Kickstarter. I'm surprised no one has come up with the idea earlier. Not only is it a Game controller but it also has a key finder function, camera remote function, media control function and lets you add your own functions to it.

    It's Kickstarter page is here:

I'll probably go for the $30 backer level.

  9. This is how I see the whole Ouya thing. Basically it's a way to play great android games with a controller - once they are released for use with the Ouya that is, this of course should be trivial as it should just mean building in controller support. Games such as modern combat , Nova 2 etc etc if ported would be awesome using a real controller . Why not play similiarly great games on another console like the Xbox or ps2 , simple, android games are vastly cheaper. Thus the way the ouya may succeed is to provide a great way to play great android games using a controller which cost very little

There's a rift going on at the moment where a lot of new gamers are finding it hard to fork out the cash for console games when as they keep saying , mobile games are so much cheaper. Give them the cheap but quality android games with ability to play them with a controller and you could well have a winning combination.
