I still have my N64, and I'll never sell it. However, having a laptop that allows you to play N64 games whenever you want is a serious advantage. Also, it doesn't tie up the TV when your wife wants to watch something. Mike

Oh, MAN I loved that game as a kid. Not many people know that it was what Leisure Suit Larry was based on. $287 is a LOT. I remember it had an actual cover - a guy in a hottub with some women around him. I don't know if it's worth $287!!! I played it under emulation last night, and didn't pay a dime . Mike

Anyone try changing ROMs in that new 2600 controller?
Starman replied to Starman's topic in Atari 2600
THis topic may come up a lot, but NOTHING comes up in a search. Searched for: "Atari TV Classic" which is the official name of the product from here: http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?produc...uct%5Fid=321721 Response was: "No topics or posts met your search criteria" So....if this topic comes up a lot, then why doesn't the search find it? That's why I asked. EDIT: I see that the topics are listed if I do a search for "Jakks". Mike -
Thanks for the replies, but I settled on one. Mike

You have to run it from the command prompt. Mike

Dreaming of an easy to use dev kit : )
Starman replied to jedijeff's topic in 2600 Programming For Newbies
I was thinking about doing that. I had this vision of an IDE which had on-the-fly assembly/disassembly, ROM mapping, online help, etc. And then I realized only 2 people would use it Mike -
Subject says it all. I'm up to my ears in carts, but my 2600 died and I lost my controllers. I just want something that works. I tried eBay but there are nothing but package deals on there which I don't want. Thanks. Mike

Hi all, I was tempted to pick up that controller with the 10 games in it that you see at GameStop/EB. Has anyone tried making the thing work with more ROMs? THAT I'd love to see. Mike

I remember using an N64 emulator about a year ago with Zelda and Mario and it ran fine. What's so bad about the emulators that are out there now? I still have my N64 and a handful of carts (Zelda Gold Box) but there's no point in wasting a spot on my extension cord when I could emulate the thing. But now I can run Zelda on my GC so it's good all around. Mike

Hi all, The one game I could never play well under emulation was Tron based on the fact that I couldn't find a control that worked as well as the game's knob. I know there's a USB knob from PowerMate (I think). I see it in the Apple Store all the time. Anyone use this? I know it's a cross-platform device. Mike

Hundreds of ANTIC's and ANALOG's! What To Do With Them?

Sell each group of the same title as a lot on eBay. Mike -
XP with the Radio Shack Playstation 2<->USB adapter. Works great in the Atari800 emulator. Mike

Hi all, I've been using Stella forever, but now I want to use something that allows me to use my PS2 controller like I can with the Atari800 Emulator. What 2600 emulator(s) allow this? Thanks. Mike

Hi all, It's been a long, LONG time since I've had my ST system. I was thinking about getting another one for nostalgia reasons, but I really don't have room for another monitor. I have a KVM switch, and better yet, my Sony monitor has a second video input which I could use. That said, I was searching the forums for an answer to my problem and I haven't found a definitive answer. 1) Does a 15-pin VGA adapter exist for the ST? 2) I once had two monitors - a hi-res one and a color one. Is there a way to switch monitor types on the cable when the ST is off? For example, I might want to use the ST for hi-res in one app, but color for games. 3) What were the resolutions of the two monitors? 320x240 and 640x480? That's pretty much all I need to know. Thanks. Mike

The Mac does allow double-clicking on a command-line app, but you lose any chance of using command-line options. I'm guessing from what I'm reading here that you don't need them. Mike

Yup. THanks! Mike

I think it's easier if I use my Mac Mike

Working now. I put that ad up and already two coworkers laughed at it. Look at the price on that PC/AT! Mike

Anyone notice that models from sci-fi movies and TV shows were used in the 2600 cartridge art? A modified Star Destroyer from Star Wars is in the Defender art. The spaceship in Asteroids is a modified Starfighter from the Buck Rogers TV series. You see parts from the Millenium Falcon in Star Voyager. Mike

Nice. That ad's something I'd want to keep since it's what got me to the store THAT DAY to buy my first ST. I can understand why they'd block it too, but if you can't print it, what's the point? Personally, I'd put together a high-res PDF of all of them and block printing. There are ways to allow people to buy printing keys for PDF files. Mike

And the crowd goes wild.... Mike

Ah. I just got my new G5 so as soon as it's done installing Panther I'll try it. Under Windows, if I right-click on an ad, I get an annoying popup window. Mike
-
Not bad. You don't allow downloading of images. I don't like that since I like to put up old ads in my cube at work. Mike

Here's a name: The Burninator . Well, you do burn the EPROMS . EDIT: Lump, you beat me to it . Mike

Guys, if you don't know, Videlectric is a phony company that the Homestar guys use for their Flash games. It's not serious at all. Mike
