  1. Well, what are you in the mood for? Arcade Shooter, I'd say Juno First; Star Fire is also very good. For an adventure game, probably Evil Magician Returns or Dungeon. Wolfenstein VCS is an incredible hack of Venture. At last look in the store, there was something like homebrew games in the Atari Age store, so you definitely have a lot of options! And new games keep coming all the time!
  2. I beat Pokemon Blue when I was about ten or eleven. After that, I think it was Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. Then Dragon Warrior. Talk about working backwards.
  3. Ton travaille est tres bien! J'aime l'effet d'éclair. Les deux sont meuilleux que mon francais.
  4. You know, I was just wondering about what RPGs/RPG-like games there are for the Atari 8-bit. And now I have a new one to look forward to! I love Rogue-likes, and I'm really excited for this!
  5. That's a nice little demo! Have you had any specific ideas for games using this technique?
  6. Those are some good thoughts and ideas on a custom controller. I really like that design for the hybrid paddle/joystick/driving controller! Way more ambitious than the joystick I made for myself.
  7. Haha yeah, I don't think the Atari would be a good tool to replicate an epically talented smooth jazz trio

    Auto Mayhem

I wouldn't say that! I'm sure with some clever code cleanup you could totally turn it into something resembling your intended game.

Nifty! I actually had a similar idea, except the goal was to smash a large truck into smaller cars a la destruction derby. This could turn into a really cool game! A couple thoughts: - Is diagonal movement a possibility? - Full speed seems to be awful fast. I assume though that it wouldn't be difficult to tune it to a particular game's needs. All in all though, pretty cool demo!
  10. Of those four, I'd say Elevator Action, but my personal favorite is definitely Zoo Keeper. Someday that game will have a classic console release...
  11. It is a pretty interesting list, even if I don't necessarily agree with it. After all, it is just a few people's opinions. But I will say, that top 10 is pretty close to what my top 10 would be.
  12. Dragon Defense Squad? Dragon poop used to revitalize wasteland? This sounds too cool for words.
  13. Yeah man, the news will come when the news will come. For now, video games! YEAH!
  14. It's f-ing checkers. That one is tied with the Haunted House alt. title in my book.
  15. Ha, yeah - I used to love Shane Monroe's rants, whether I agreed with them or not. I don't know why, but for some reason it's fun to listen to people complain.
  16. You can get a light gun to work with flat panel tvs and projector tvs, but doing so requires A LOT of tv tech know-how.
  17. Price isn't a problem. I have learned that ColecoVision people are a very wealthy bunch, they spend hundreds of dollars every year with ColecoVision games, mods and accessories. So I was thinking of $200 for such a advanced piece of hardware. But that would be for the module only, if you want the documentation that is going to cost you another $50. Add another $50 to have it shipped inside a box, otherwise a padded envelope will be used. Ok, j/k. Projected price is $50 for the SGM, $40 for Donkey Kong, when it is available. Eduardo, you damn near gave me a heart attack!
  18. And also, if you don't mind, the projected price?
  19. That would be excellent, as I am technologically backwards. I don't even have a facebook. Hot diggity! Well, let's get this ball a-rollin'!
  20. 100 extra bytes, eh? Congrats on being able to squeeze such a quality game into less than 4k!
  21. The only site I'm aware of is Psytronik software. Is there anywhere else to pick up the myriad of homebrews released yearly for the C64 in physical form? Thanks!
  22. Cool cool. Hey, have any of you Western New Yorkers ever thought about starting up some kind of retro video game gathering? I've always toyed with the idea...
