Does your girlfriend/boyfriend/spouse play your classic games with you? Last Friday night, my girlfriend came over and we spent a good amout of time playing Ice Hockey and Othello on my 2600. Which is pretty cool, considering this is the girl who before wouldnt even touch anything video game related. Now her favorites are Pong and the aformentioned Othello! And I never thought she'd ever play video games with me

Sign me up, I'm definitley in! -
Well, no matter what you call it, this still gonna be one truly awesome game. I think it may even sell a few systems! I know someone who may actually buy an Atari just so they can play this game.

Born in 87 and listening to Larry Norman? You really must be into classic... I'll take the Geoff Moore cover myself (the 1st, not the wimpy pop sound 2nd). Yup, a lot of my friends say I should have been born a couple decades earlier But yeah, sorry to take it a lil off topic, I actually saw and got to meet Geoff Moore last night at my youth group, and he did sing "Why Should the Devil Have All the Good Music!" Needless to say, I was pretty pumped

Has there yet been a 2600 emulator that works with Windows XP and an ATI graphics card? I have yet to find one, and that's been kinda tickin me off, so I've been havin to go in my basement to fire up the ol Pentium II and use a six year old version of PCAE.

There are those of us on these boards who were born after the golden era of video games, like in my case, I was born in 1987. My question is to all of those people out there, how in the heck did you get into classic gaming? As for myself, I got in as a result of the influence of one of my uncles, and as a result of the family computer we owned back when I was really little, the Tandy 1000. So my love for classic games really does kinda come from nostalgia, from all those games of Donkey Kong and Space Invaders we played on that old Tandy machine. Well, what about the rest of you youngins?

Wizard of Wor has got to be one of my favorite 2600 games. It's just as much fun (if not more fun) to play with a friend than just by yourself. As far as Demon Attack goes, I'm not really a big fan of it, I'd rather be playing Pheonix. It just gets too monotonous and, well, kind of annoying after a while. But having said that, there are MUCH worse games than Demon Attack. MUCH worse.

Back for an encore, what systems do you have?
Nateo replied to Atari_Worshipper's topic in Classic Console Discussion
My systems are: - Atari 2600 - Atari 5200 (dosent work though ) - Atari Lynx - NES - Super NES - Atari 800 - Tandy CoCo - ColecoVision - Intellivision - Coleco Telstar Alpha - Game Boy (original, colour, and advanced) - Nintendo GameCube And I think thats it. My fav out of these? Well, right now, probably the 2600. I just cant get enough of it -
The only ones I've ever really played were Dragon's Lair and Space Ace, loved em both I'm really hoping I can go to PC5 so I can play those two awesome titles!
-
Ooo yeah, SCSIside rocks! Kaboom is also very good, along with Warlords and Video Olympics.
-
Wow, I hope that you are able to eventually get all of that back up! Thats an awesome concept for a site, a site entirely devoted to homebrewing and hombrew games. I just found out about this site with your post, so I hope things get back together soon!

Yeah, no on map monsters, the extra RAM could be used to expound on all that other cool stuff you're doing for the project.

Nateo replied to neotokeo2001's topic in Atari 2600 Hacks
Well, actaully, it's Death Derby, but that is still similar enough to get some people confused... -
Splatform 2600 (just another new homebrew minigame)
Nateo replied to Thomas Jentzsch's topic in Atari 2600
And if you dont mind me asking, how soon? And how about that chopper game? Do ya got a same kinda deal goin along with that? -
I too, cannot wait for this game to come out! I was wondering what the process was on this game so far. I also know a few people who are going to buy systems just so they can play these games. I can see that this is going to be a popular homebrew!

Oh wow, this is old. But then, two years is a long time to a sixteen year old... Anywho, those fellas I sat with at my lunch people then I havent talked to since around that time. And it wasnt because of Sega and Atari

Darn it, ya beat me to this. I was working on the same thing, but yours seems to look much better than what I was trying to do. Nice job!

You know, sometimes I think we should just open up an ideas thread, or even a forum just for throwing different game ideas around and reflect on them. Maybe through different ideas, we will get a better understanding about how the 2600 (and other systems) work, and we can understand better what the programmers have to go through.

How many of you use only 1970's - 80's era controllers?
Nateo replied to Adrian M's topic in Atari 2600
I like using my Wico command control, since I am a strict lefty. But I can manage alright with regular CX-40s. I am thinking about building my own arcade style controller for my 2600. I'm going to put both left and right sticks on the same box so playing Stargate wont be quite as difficult -
You use a joystick!? Wow, I can barley break 15k with a joystick. I like usin the paddles cause I can make sudden moves that I cant make with the joystick. 30k is pretty good though, thats all I hit for a while, but then all of a sudden this morning I broke thru with the said score.

I dont know if too many of you spend that much time on this particular game, but, well, I do Anyway, I managed to score about 43,000 points. What about you guys?

Is there anyway I can download say, ATR images off of the internet and slap them onto an Atari formatted 5.25 disk? Thanx much

I like the look of the heavy sixer, but its nice to have a Junior so you dont have to tote the clunkier models around.
