  1. I brought an Atari to my friend's house last night, and he didn't "disparge" (I don't know what that means ) it at all. We ended up playing over fifty games of Video Olympics. Too bad his parents don't allow him to own any video games. I feel sorry for the poor guy.
  2. How faithful were the ports to the original arcade version? (Besides the obvious PlayStation port)
  3. Was this game ever ported to a console? I played it on MAME a little while back, and I love it.
  4. A lot of the games on the NES were similar, with very little original gameplay. That didn't stop them from bieng fun though. It's like having fun with Super Street Fighter the Movie 36, even though it's nothing more than a rehash. Do you kinda get what I'm saying? It's about as clear as I can make it.
  5. There was NOTHING speacial about the Emerson Arcadia. I fail to see why anyone would want to call that thing classic (except it had the only arcade port of Pleiads) In my opinion, calling every game that's old classic, is like calling every movie that was made before 1990 classic.
  6. How long have ya been looking for one?
  7. Well age just makes something old. It's not classic, just old.
  8. Don't get me wrong, I think some NES games are fun, just not classic.
  9. Favorite Companies: ATARI These guys made it happen. They made the most memorable and classic games around. If there was a problem, they tried thier best to fix it. You can almost never go wrong with these guys when it comes to fun. SEGA These guys made some of the best games to ever exist, including Zaxxon, Turbo, and Sonic. They had the gall to stand up to power hungry Nintendo back in the day. Least Favorite Companies: NINTENDO Yeah, they made a few gems (Donkey Kong, the original Legend of Zelda) but I can't stand the way they tried to dictate the entire gaming industry. They forced Midway to "sanitize" the SNES version of Mortal Kombat. That makes fumes fly from my nose, because Nintendo took it upon themselves to tell a developer what they could and couldn't develop. They limited the number of cartridges that could be released by a company in one year (back in the NES days). Okay, I'm done ranting about Nintendo now. SONY & M$ They don't care at all about the crap that comes out for thier systems, just as long as they get cash. WAY too many rehashes and sequels. That just makes me sick.[/b]
  10. Even when I inserted a cartridge absolutley nothing happened. I might just trade it in to get a working one.
  11. I just bought a Lynx from a local used game shop. It is not working at all. I press the power key on the front, nothing happens. Is this a common problem from Lynxs?
  12. Even if a game is limited edition, another run usually pops up in other conventions (i.e. SCSIside was released as limited runs at both CGE and PC3). You can also still pick up the game from Hozer, if you don't particulary care about it's "rarity."

    Harshest graphics?

I don't know about you guys, but playing Video Pinball in complete darkness causes splitting headaches (especially when you get that 1,000 point diamond between the two bottom bumpers)
  14. I prefer the Wico, mainly because I'm left handed. I can switch to use the stick button.
  15. I hate the way the video game market is handled today. The NES marked the beggining of selling video games not by great gameplay, but almost entirely by marketing (in other words, video games could no longer sell themselves)
  16. I can't get enough of Wizard of Wor. Geez, I love that game...
  17. Yes, but Nitendo managed to win all their court fiascos. This is one of the reasons why I dislike Nintendo (but I have to agree, they do make good games)
  18. Actually, Nintendo sued Atari many times, mostly because they were making unliscensed NES titles (stupid, power hungry Nintendo). What was Nintendo thinking when they told a developer what they could or couldn't produce? You didn't see Commodore telling developers whether or not they could make a game for thier 64. Sorry about that, I was in the moment.
  19. So, by your way of thinking, the Game.Com and the Neo Geo Pocket Color is classic.
  20. Now that I've thought about it some, I've actually come to the strange conclusion that it's a hybrid. It has an importaint history, I'll give it that. But even still, It's got more rehashes than even the 2600 (in my opinion) that sold well. Look at all the Double Dragon clones and the endless non original sequels (with the exception of Mario) that were released.
  21. Why don't you have the number of the balls increase only to three, and then have the balls increase in speed as the game moves along? This way you should get a lot less flicker.
  22. Hmm... -River Raid (2600) -Wizard of Wor (2600) -Popeye (Coleco Vision) -Star Strike (Intelly)
  23. "Classic" does not mean that it's old. To me, a classic system should be called classic when it has two or more of these qualities: -The system has to have something revolutionary (i.e. ColecoVision having the "perfect" arcade conversion of Donkey Kong) -The system should have a interesting history, good or bad (i.e. MicroVision being the first handheld system, Atari 2600 and the biggest videogame bomb - ET) -The system must have many different, original games (the NES was full of rehashes and sequels that sold suprisingly well) I could think of some other points, but this was all I could think of for now.
  24. I'm sorry, but I cannot call NES classic. I may have grown up during that era, but that doesn't mean I'm going to call it a classic. I find the NES to be the ancient equivelant of the PlayStation. It had a few classics, but as a whole, it wasn't that great.
