When I get home.
-
Well my lovely wife has done it again. Came back from the markets with a pile of carts including this one. Can anyone tell me anything about it? On the plus side, unlike the label in the database mine isn't torn so I can probably make a scan/photo for the database

Just thought I'd add the story behind the find. It wasn't me who found it, rather my wife who went out to the markets one morning when I was too sick to move. So it's her you have to thank for me getting the thing to scan in the first place. Glad I could contribute.

Really? And I thought it was dead down here in Oz. Do you knoiw what the games are? I'm assuming Eskimo Jump is a pirate version of Frostbite.

I had to drop the quality a bit but this should do.

Aminet is a large repository of shareware and public domain software that's been running for as long as the web. Check them out at http://www.aminet.net/ You should join some sort of Amiga group as well, they will help you get started.

Andrew Braybrook. If you're a C64 fan and you haven't played Uridium or Paradroid you haven't lived. -
I voted for Zaxxon. Sometimes you shouldn't try the impossible. Donkey Kong Jr was also a massive disappointment. I actually liked Defender, at least it introduced me to Defender style games.

Best bet is for you to head over to Lemon64, probably one of the best C64 communities on the net. www.lemon64.com/

Come to think of it, is it possible that smurf has the first double jump mechanism (where the second jump gives you more air?)

I can still remember those dinky sound effects. I loved the first screen the best, the other screens didn't work as well IMHO.

gamer's manifesto, plus: no "loading" minigames?
tssk replied to kisrael's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Yes, Namco holds the patent on that. 862971[/snapback] Couldn't you use old C64 games as an arguement for "previous art?" (Some old Mastertronic games used to allow you to play a simple game while the main game loaded off tape. See http://www.redesign.sk/tnd64/retro.html for some info and a screenshot.) -
Just finished boths modes in Kingdom Hearts:Chain of Memories (GBA). I hope Kingdom Hearts 2 isn't going to use the cards system.

Whoopee Camp are made up of some of the guys who made the original Ghost's'n'Goblins if I recall correctely.

Jet Force Gemini (N64) After three years I still can't beat the final boss. Loved the game anyway.

I remember some people saying back in the 80's that Ms Pac was just Pacman in drag. I was going to mention drawn together... That line, so wrong...

An Interesting Essay On Piracy/conservation about Atarisoft
tssk replied to tssk's topic in Classic Console Discussion
A quick search on usenet revealed that the author had been looking for a copy of his game for a long time. In fact he posted a request back in 1994. Ten years is a long time to wait. -
S Campbell has written a longish piece on why piracy is good and how piracy actually preserves the history of the games industry using the example of the never released Robotron for the Sinclair Spectrum It's here at http://worldofstuart.excellentcontent.com/.../rob-o-tron.htm What do you guys think? Right or wrong?

Game demos and their effectiveness in garnering purchases
tssk replied to Adrian M's topic in Modern Console Discussion
A good demo will generally sell the game to me, however a bad demo (on that times out after three minutes for example) will actually put me off the game. Give me a whole track or a whole level from the game and if I like it I will pick it up. The demo of Beyond Good and Evil convinced me that I'd like it.
