  1. I just upgraded from my 3DS (small) to a New 3DS XL. Loving it with the exception of one thing. The location of the power button!

When playing RPG's during cutscenes / heavy text sections, I'll relax and hold my system one handed, using my ring finger to prop it up at the bottom, and my thumb tapping A to continue. Where I'm used to my ring finger going is now the position of the power button.

Just gave Pokemon Omega Ruby a good play for 4.5 hours, and accidentally hit the power button.

    I never saved. Not once.

  2. There are two ways to get around this bug.

    1) Play the game on a real Game Boy Color. The bug will not occur; it only happens on Game Boy Advance, Advance SP, or Game Boy Player systems (in that last case, because the GB Player has a GBA inside, essentially).

Odd. I always had the bug occur using my GBC back in the day.

  3. Donkey Kong on the Gameboy.

I never played this when it came out, but had always meant to. Picked it up the other day and wish I'd done so sooner. Such a great puzzle game that is only hindered by the crazy amount of free lives the game gives you.

I also always assumed that Mario's triple jump with gymnast end stance and backflip originated in Super Mario 64, but no, it was this.

  4. Sega bass fishing is real fun with the Fission Controller. Tony Hawk's pro skater has a Dead Kennedys video playing on a jumbotron on one of the levels. If I ever get another console it will be a DC.

I always forger about Bass Fishing as I don't have the controller. One of these days I'll pick it up and reel in the big one.

  5. NGPC is one awesome handheld that's really easy to collect for if you're happy with loose carts. The thumbstick is awesome and works great for the (large) catalogue of fighters for the system. I had no idea about the ring adaptor for Pac-Man, so I think I'm going to do some shopping and pick one up as it's a pain in the ass to play without one. I'd love to see more of a homebrew or japanese translation community.

  6. Just bought Another World out of the Indie shop, and I have to say it's a good game. I probably will go buy another $10.00 card to get a couple of Virtual Console games (like Super Mario Bros 3, for example).

On a side note (not really related to this topic), Paper Mario for the 3DS is around $24.00 now at Best Buy.

Another World is a great game. I too have picked this up for the 3DS.

I played it on the SNES but could never beat it. There was one section where one of the enemies would repeatedly roll bombs at you. The amount of bombs he would throw would lag up the SNES to snail's pace and I just couldn't get past it.

  7. Pokemon Y:

Just received a new Pokemon via Nintendo. Stats are:

    Name:/ Pinsir

    Level: 50

    Moveset:

X-Scissor, Earthquake, Stone Edge and Return.

Now I know traded, gifted, and event Pokemon level up faster but this thing is broken in that regard. In less than a day, without non-stop play, he's already at Level 71, and his Mega Stone, Pinsirite, will be released via Gamestop starting Monday!

Damn, I got all excited for a free Pinsir, but no go for us Australians.
