  1. Looking to really add some more games to my Lynx collection. What are some really stand out games for the Lynx?
  2. Ignore this, I just pre-ordered Sturmwind so I'm broke.
  3. I wouldn't say I hate a system, but there's certain aspects of systems that I really don't like. Wii - Motion controls... I hate them so. It's good when a game gives you an option, but when they don't it down right pisses me off. Take Marvel Ultimate Alliance, a Wii launch title. I couldn't get it to do what I want, but hey, this was also on the PS2, surely they weren't so lazy as to not put in normal controls. Oh, they were that lazy, damn. Master System / Mega Drive / Saturn - Control pads. Why did it take sega up until the Dreamcast to make a control pad that I was happy with? Why do I have 8 SMS control pads and only 1 works 100%? Why do I have 11 Mega Drive control pads and only 3 work? And it surely can't be blamed on being treated poorly with previous owners, those things felt terrible brand knew. I say they were just made shoddy. N64 - Controllers again. That damn control stick. But I don't hate it anywhere near as much as what I said about the Sega stuff because the sticks are an easy fix.
  4. Favourite SNES: Secret of Mana Least favourite SNES: Mighty Max Favourite Mega Drive: Sonic the Hedgehog Least favourite Mega Drive: Global Gladiators
  5. Looking for someone in australia to fix my Game Gear for me, it has a problem with the capacitors. I've found some international places to send it, but would rather ship it locally.
  6. Brings back memories. Good memories. Battletoads for the NES is one of my all time favourite games, and although I have never beaten the game, I can proudly say that I can still beat Turbo Tunnel in one go. A team of coders should get together and release a hacked rom of the game with the coding fixed so that it is possible to beat the game two player, and the option to turn friendly fire on and off.
  7. Fist of the North Star does not belong. Underrated? To call the game "crap" is going easy on it.
  8. Micro Machines Turbo Tournament '96 - Best Mega Drive game there is whether you're alone or with friends.
  9. When I first played PacMan on the 2600, I turned it off after a few goes. BUT, I had played Ms PacMan first.
  10. Anyone got any advice on cleaning/restoring the old table top electronic games?
  11. I saw the trailer for this today, looks promising. Reminds me of Abe's Odyssey or Another World.
  12. Does all of Alex Kidd in Shinobi World count? From memory, one of the bosses was actually Super Mario, he even shrunk back to normal Mario when u hurt him, this had to be changed slightly, but you can still tell what the boss is obviously meant to be.
  13. I introduced my 6 year old niece to LoZ the other day. She's got an attention span of about 30 seconds, and if I put on a movie she'll ask if it's almost over 2 minutes in. But she played LoZ for a good 20 minutes. When it first started with Link on the screen she asked "Where do I go?" to which I replied "Wherever you want." She said it was like having a real adventure.
  14. Is it at all a reference to... "Kick Puncher", from Community? Just checking... Oh, and as to Renegade, particularly towards the end that game is _incredibly_ hard. I had to use cheat codes on Mame to get through it and see the ending. But then, out of nowhere, recently I played it and made it through without losing a life for the first time in my whole life. Must've had just the right amount of sleep and caffeine or something. Community is exactly what I thought!
  15. I really really enjoyed SNES Starfox but did feel let down somewhat by Starfox 64. It's kind of a hard thing to place though.. I did like it though but maybe it just wasn't as much fun? Actually I think a lot of what let me down about Starfox 64 is they the music! The original SNES music IS "Starfox" to me. But the music in Starfox 64 was pretty much forgettable. I was hoping they'd remix some of the original tunes. It's kind of like if Empire Strikes back didn't have the opening Star Wars music. e.g. even the stage select sounds epic and spacey http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyFL7aG9fhk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_Qwpt61CRI I gotta agree that the music on the SNES was much more memorable than 64. I played both equal amounts, and I could bust out the SNES tunes all day, but if someone told me to do a tune from 64, I'd draw a blank.
  16. Can I count Donkey Kong Country as a followup? At the time I was expecting something MUCH better than it was. The level design was not on par with the likes of Super Mario World. I wasn't disappointed by Zelda II, but when I first played Super Mario Bros 2 I was all "WTF is this?" at first, but then I grew to love it.
  17. I had an Aquarius when they first come out, and honestly, I don't know a lot about them. But this looks great! What is it?
  18. -Once I got home from the midnight Wii launch, I sat down to play some Twilight Princess and it wouldn't load the disc. After freaking out for 10 minutes I realised I had the console upside down. I felt like a dick.
  19. - I've never beaten Metroid on the NES. I just get lost and I can't be bothered drawing a map, and I have this weird tick with the game where if I die I've got to reset the game. - I've never beaten the first stage of Kidd Icarus on the NES. - I like Tails from Sonic the Hedgehog 2. - I think Mortal Kombat 1-3 are rubbish. - I love the first Mortal Kombat movie.
  20. Sweet Home (NES) doesn't get a lot of love, mainly cause it was never released outside of Japan. You can buy a repo cart with fan translation though. It's worth it.
  21. I've just picked up Oblivion after hearing for the past few years how amazing it is.
