  1. Everyone seems to hate it, but I flippin' LOVE Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest Legend for the SNES. It's basic to boot, but there's no random battles, and a killer soundtrack. Terranigma on the SNES is also commonly overlooked since it never got a release in the USA. Also, watch out using the term "jrpg", some people get offended by its use.
  2. Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition, working my way up in Ranked Battles!
  3. I picked up God Hand for the PS2 for $2. I remember hearing about it, hearing it was rubbish, but I thought "Hey, $2, whatever." I flippin' love it!
  4. I find that the Forza games are generally a better experience all round. Although I havn't played GT5 or Forza 3.
  5. That sounds like quite a limited use (It seems to basically come down to SFIV, MvC3, Blazblue, Tekken 6 and possibly the 2 upcoming SFxT and TxSF, no?) That's the plan, but I'm sure there'll be something else to tickle my fancy further on down the line, I do plan on getting the Mass Effect games eventually, but motion control or 1st person shooters just don't do it for me.
  6. That's cool, so you can get yourself a Kinect and play the new Steel Battalion some day Actually I'm getting the Kinect, a kinect game, and Gears of War 3 with it, but they're what I'm trading in, to get the system even cheaper. I'm really only buying the system for modern fighting games.
  7. Wow! That's flippin' awesome. Oh, and the search is over. I scored a 250GB Xbox360 pack with a few free games, then trading those games back to the store which brings the price down even further.
  8. I got a chance to actually test, in store, a Super Street FIghter 4 Tournament Edition stick and was VERY happy with the feel of the stick, the buttons, and the weight. Picking it up tomorrow along with my 360 and SSF4AE.
  9. I'll be checking in stores today about warranty, but on these official xbox pages, they boast that one comes with a warranty. http://www.xbox.com/en-AU/Xbox360/Consoles/Systems/Xbox3604GB http://www.xbox.com/en-AU/Xbox360/Consoles/Systems/Xbox360250gb It could simply be that they forgot to write it in, but I'll be double checking.
  10. It seems the 4GB base model 360 doesn't have a warranty, where as the 250GB model has a one year warranty. I remember when the 360 first came out there were a lot of Red Ring problems. Are these problems still common?
  11. The biggest problem I've had researching this is the amount of "reviews" on the internet that just focus on how cool the stickers are, or if the box looks good. And a heap of reviews that I've found, the sticks have never even been played, the reviewer says great things about the stick and says "although I've never used one to play". Does my head in.
  12. Curious Sofa, was it the accuracy of the commands from the Hori stick, or was it that the stick is a square plate restrictor setup that caused you to dislike the stick? And how did you feel about the buttons? Was it the VX-SA model that you had? I have heard that the X-Arcade is a great controller... when it's working. I've heard a few horror stories of the controllers commonly screwing up, and very poor customer service through their Support line. Sure, it's got a lifetime warranty, but if I've got to send the unit back for repairs, I'm getting stung on return cost freight as they very clearly say that they will not cover warranty freighting the unit outside of the USA. I've also heard that whilst it's a great controller for classic arcade games, the stick isn't quite suited for fighting games such as Street Fighter or KOF. Have either of you guys had any problems with the X-Arcade? What kind of games do you play with it? Are you using it on a 360, or on a PC? I hear there is input lag when using the X-Arcade on consoles, but they're golden for running MAME on a PC. And don't get me wrong, I'm not asking these questions cause I have my mind set on a HRAP. I'd love the X-Arcade to be the perfect choice because then I'd have a new stick for my Dreamcast as well. I really just want my first choice to be the right choice.
  13. I'm currently looking at a Hori Real Arcade Pro VX-SA.
  14. So after a day of researching, I'm pretty sure I'm going to go for a base model Xbox360, and invest in a decent arcade stick. Thanks for all the help!
  15. So arcade sticks for the 360. Who's had some experience with these? I'm chasing a good quality stick that is still regularly available through retailers. What have you found is good, and what have you found is rubbish?
  16. Turns out the monthly fee I saw for the Xbox360 was actually the yearly fee.
  17. Whoa, just saw monthly fees for online gaming for the Xbox360, and I simply don't think I'd be able to afford paying that. But I can't seem to find information on whether the Playstation Network has a monthly fee, or whether Sony are going to incorporate that in the near future. So at this stage, I'm leaning towards the PS3.
  18. Thanks for the replies guys. I would of course be buying an arcade stick for the console, any feedback on stick vs stick? And any feedback on the ports of games like SF4, or KOF13, in terms of being arcade perfect? Taking graphics, speed, and sound into account.
  19. I've been wanting to play this current tournament tack, but I can't find my gamecube controllers since I moved! Also, I wouldn't often play online, but I'd mainly focus on Time Trials.
  20. What problems do you tend to have with the Dreamcasts? I haven't been able to find one that had a laser that didn't give me trouble yet. Are you sure it's the laser? What exactly does it do? Just flat out not read the discs, glitchy games, or constantly resetting?
  21. Hey guys, So I'm looking at updating to either an Xbox360 or a PS3, and I don't know a lot about either system. So I'm after some advice. I'd mainly be playing the system for fighting games such as Street Fighter 4, Marvel vs Capcom, and King of Fighters XIII. I'd be playing both multiplayer on the couch with friends, and multiplayer online. I won't be playing it on a HD TV, and I'd be looking at the cheapest versions of the two. I'm looking for good advice, not just "Xbox360 is shit, get a PS3" I had enough of that kind of talk in the 90's. I want some valid reasons to why you think one console would suit me better than another. So, can someone help me out? Cheers.
  22. What problems do you tend to have with the Dreamcasts? There WAS a Hello Kitty Dreamcast... Also, I've been giving mine a damn workout. Capcom vs SNK 2!
  23. Damn, I'm gonna give mine a raz today! A bit of Code Veronica followed by my current save of Grandia 2.
