I never pay any more than $2AUS for a loose 2600 cart unless it's something that's honestly worth a bit of cash. That's all they're worth to me.

Just scored a Sega Saturn, any known problems I should know down the track? Motors going out? Controller issues? Anything?

How do you organize your 2600 Collection?
DemonoidTentacle replied to disjaukifa's topic in Atari 2600
I just throw mine in a box, they are organised in a way that there's only few that i'd ever play, so they're naturally on top. -
Scored some DS bargains.
DemonoidTentacle replied to DemonoidTentacle's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I should have probably mentioned that this was in Australian dollars, the games are normally $70 a piece. -
Cataclysm - a zombie apocalypse roguelike

I tried to play Dwarf Fortress, even read the bazillion page manual for the damn thing. Still couldn't make heads or tails. But ADOM is badass. -
Scored some great deals today. Walking past EB games and I thought I'd stop in. They had a few DS games MEGA reduced. Phantasy Star 0 Golden Sun: Dark Dawn Dragon Quest IX Chrono Trigger All four for $100! These are gonna take me a while, and I only just recently picked up Xenoblade.

Can you help me pick a 2600 game for my club at school?
DemonoidTentacle replied to segasaturn's topic in Atari 2600
One thing to remember as well is that the Atari 2600 games aren't really designed to be played for long periods of time. So if you have a lot of time on your hands, maybe a couple more games would help. -
Mario Party - Who plays?
DemonoidTentacle replied to SlowCoder's topic in Classic Console Discussion
These games were surely designed to break N64 analogue sticks. But I still play the games, just means I gotta repair my controllers every now and again. -
While not terrible, I certainly don't think they're great. A few games of Mario Party and they're stuffed.

What do you have, that nobody else does?
DemonoidTentacle replied to doubledown's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I have a strange PAL cart of Super Mario Bros. NES that runs slower than normal. -

post your gaming "horror" stories
DemonoidTentacle replied to xg4bx's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Back when I was in university I had a day off, spent all day playing Banjo Kazooie on the N64. Now normally, I'm a freak when it comes to saving my games, I just HAVE to constantly do it. 8 hours into my game, it froze, and I realised I'd never saved the game once. -
Pac Man or E.T. ,which 2600 game is better
DemonoidTentacle replied to 2600dude's topic in Atari 2600
Whilst Pac-Man is a terrible port, it is far from a terrible game. Pac-Man gets my vote. -
Remembering the Dreamcast
DemonoidTentacle replied to swlovinist's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I never had a Dreamcast on release, I never even had any interest. The console wars of the 90's still burned in my belly. But six years ago a coworker came to work one day with two bags in his arms. "What you got there?" I asked, not interested, just being polite. I hear him reply "I'm trying to sell this Dreamcast thing." My ears twitched, and he instantly saw that I was all of a sudden interested in what he was saying. One Dreamcast, two controllers, one VMU and a bit over 200 "backups" of games. That night was my first experience with Dreamcast, it's still one of my constant set up consoles. -
Bargain! Video Pinball is the steal of this deal.

Freakin' rad!

Honestly, I can't remember. It's hard finding information about these old handhelds. What I do remember is that unlike terms like VFD, LCD, LED, the LSI is not referring to the graphical interface, but instead the logic of the programming.
-
Oh, and I also collect VFD games.
