Mmm... I love me some DC. But whilst the two machines are know for their arcade ports, the 2 are wildly different. To answer you're question on which is better, the DC is technically the better machine. It's the arcade experience, at home. But that's not to say that someone who likes the 2600 more is wrong. It's personal preference judging two completely different gaming experiences. If you can only afford one, try playing the games and see which you'd prefer to actually own, if any at all.

I'm currently working through Megaman 2, and it's brought back memories of how I never did beat Yellow Devil in the 1st game.

I'm now working my way through Megaman 2. 1-6 are currently on special for the 3DS Virtual Console, so I'm happy as a pig in mud.

I've really gotta get back into DQIX. Such a great game, but for some reason I moved on from it a while back and haven't picked it back up. Frogger (2600) Pokemon Soul Silver (DS) Baldur's Gate - EE (OSX)

Considering I was planning on upgrading to an XL when picking up Smash Bros, this is a bit of a no brainer for me.

This just seems a bit awkward to me. The way I play fighters, the stick gets a serious workout and needs some weight behind it. Weight the 3DS doesn't have.

I loved text adventures back in the day on my C64, but I cannot think of one that I ever beat. I've got the Infocom collection on my iPhone that I play every now and again. I refuse to use any walkthroughs, and you know what, I still haven't beaten one of those damn things.

Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves along with the DC arcade stick is great.

Thoughts on what games you'd like it for?

I'm bouncing between Pokemon Y and FE: Awakening. I plan on (finally) picking up Mario Kart 7 on the weekend for some time trial fun on the run.

I was a backer on Kickstarter and I still haven't had the chance to play my Ouya due to the HDMI only output.

While I do primarily collect for DS/3DS, my favourite is the Game Boy Advance SP. Lightweight, fits perfectly in my hands, nice backlit screen, and compatible with GB/GBC/GBA.

I prefer the chubby version.

The first thing that comes to mind was The Detective Game on C64. So often I would boot that up to try and solve the mystery, but I would always get stuck. I had a couple of cousins who also loved it, and were stuck at the same point as me. One day this guy down the street told us that you had to wait two hours and then you could find Bentley (the butler) chopped up in the fridge. Of course, that never happened. It wasn't until years later that I found out that there's a clue in the manual that was for piracy protection. I've never gone back to it, but one day I will.

Sonic 1 Call me crazy, but I think it's much better than the original on MD/Genesis.

It's been a while, friends. I haven't had much to do with the forums in close to a year. But I return with good news. My 2600 collection has been located, so I've had one of my 2600's shipped to me with all my games and have celebrated by playing Frogger for the last few hours. I still can't break the 3,000 mark, but I'll get there one of these days. Time to really start getting serious again with a few CIB pickups. The cases have seen better days, but the Demon Attack and Atlantis carts are like new.

Pac Kong - I was just so curious as I had not come across it before. Could it be a Pac Man clone? Or a Donkey Kong clone? Amidar - I was thinking this could be a DK clone, too. But it's not. Also to note, does anyone know why my thumbnails are upside down? The originals on my computer are right way up.
