  1. I just had to let you know, you are amazing for sharing all those files with us. I'm working my way through them, and your structure of showing us beginners is excellent!
  2. Ok everyone, a big thankyou for all the help I am getting on this, I'm getting further But now I'm getting this: Starting build of zombie_chase.bas batari Basic v1.01dreveng17 ©2005-2013 2600 Basic compilation complete. /Users/bc/bB/2600basic.sh: line 15: /Users/bc/bB/dasm: Bad CPU type in executable Build complete. I'm assuming that dasm is for PPC as opposed to Intel processor (which is what I've got) I'm researching a workaround now. EDIT: I just found this thread http://atariage.com/forums/topic/185212-dasm-for-intel-macs/ Good news... IT'S WORKING!!! Thanks again everyone for your help with this. Now I have a late night ahead of me full of tinkering madness.
  3. Personally, I probably wouldn't bother with it. BUT they're really cool, and a great idea.
  4. Just sent you a PM on some that I came across while browsing over the net.
  5. Yeah, I'm finding that starting my collection again is hard, but also refreshing. Before, I'd go hunting in the wild, get whatever carts I could. But these days it just isn't the same environment for where I am. So now I'm collecting only CIB games, and I am shifting between whether to focus on unopened or not.
  6. Definitely not a flop. The game isn't very good, but you can't dig a hole in the back yard without finding PacMan 2600.
  7. Cheers for that, I'll be giving that a shot when I get home from work. UPDATE: I followed these step by step (with the exception of Xcode Tools and I already have it), and yet I am still not up and running. As I do step 5, nothing happens after that in my terminal. There's no error, or positive sign. I just proceed to the next line in my terminal. Help?
  8. I was an OUYA kickstarter supporter, but I haven't had the chance to play mine yet. I haven't upgraded from a CRT yet.
  9. Geez, I really have no idea other than with my Super Nintendo I got Street Fighter 2 pack in. It was such an important moment in my life, all the other first games for each console don't even compare.
  10. CGR and Metal Jesus are two that instantly come to mind as must watch videos. What I like about those two is that even if the game is rubbish, they seem to stay classy and find something nice to say about it.
  11. I stay away from the Tiger handhelds. I mainly focus on games that are VFD as opposed to LCD.
  12. It's been a while since I've been on these forums, but I do remember when you first presented this thread. I must say, WELL DONE! This is a stunning effort.
  13. The Vader is badass, but the 6 switch Woody is all class. I can't decide between the two.
  14. I've been trying this over and over again, and I still haven't gotten this to work on my Mac. Is there a step missing? I'm sure I'm entering it into my terminal correctly, as I'm simply copy and pasting each step as I get to it. This it what it says in my terminal after I follow the last stop of testing my setup: Starting build of sample.bas /Users/bc/Atari2600/bB/2600basic.sh: line 3: /Users/bc/Atari2600/bB/preprocess: Bad CPU type in executable /Users/bc/Atari2600/bB/2600basic.sh: line 3: /Users/bc/Atari2600/bB/2600basic: Bad CPU type in executable Compilation failed. Any ideas? It's a little embarrassing that I want to get back into casual programming, but can't even run the program If it's worth anything, I'm running OSX 10.8.4
  15. Ah, who am I kidding, I've just purchased a few CIB games from Europe on the cheap. Looking forward to getting back into the collecting!
  16. This looks INTENSE! Love the sound design, it really adds to it. Well done. Now get us a limited run of carts!
  17. Yeah, I'm tossing up whether to start from scratch, piece by piece, or just buy a Harmony cart. The only thing stopping me from getting the carts again is that these day's I feel like 2600 collecting is a bit too expensive. Call me cheap, but I just can't justify paying no more than $2 for a loose 2600 cart.
  18. No rarities in my collection, just heaps of commons, so thankfully replaceable.
  19. And I'm a couple of months late in checking this thread. Sorry. Cheers for that, but my 1292 collecting is currently on hold to get my 2600 collection back up to scratch. I'll keep your ebay in mind though for the future incase you find anything else.
  20. Hi all, long time no see! And there's a reason for that. In March, I moved interstate to Melbourne for work. Everything was packed up in boxes, and brought over by myself. I've been living in denial these last few months, because since the move, I haven't been able to find my 2600 games collection. I've checked and double checked and triple checked every still unpacked box, but alas, they are not here. My fear is that I somehow got that box mixed into the boxes going to charity, so maybe some lucky young kid is now enjoying my 2600 games, along with my PSP and 3DS that were also in the box. I have now come to accept this must be what has happened, and I need to start afresh. Has anyone else done anything like this in the past, or am I alone in my mistake?
  21. Hey guys, I'm trying to find a game I used to play at school when I was younger. I'm going to be very vague. From memory my school had a BBC Micro (maybe it wasn't, but I'm sure it was) and there was an adventure game that I used to play. I seem to remember you'd have a map screen with different areas in POSSIBLY a top down view. Later on in the game you get a boat, which was DEFINITELY controlled via top down view to navigate the waters. From memory, currents or whirlpools effected your navigation in the water. There was also something (house? chest?) that needed a password for you to enter it, and you could learn the password via hints. The password was GOLDILOCKS. And that's about all I have to work with... Anyone?
