  1. I too am looking at focusing on Famicom. I can't read a word of japanese, but hey, the carts and boxes look cool. I've just got to sell off a heap of my collection to fund it.
  2. I'd feel so disappointed. It should've been a hidden NEW Mario Bros game. As in an updated version of the arcade original.
  3. The 360 is definitely a system worth getting. The back catalogue of games are great, but I'd never recommend it to someone who also has a PS3, as there just aren't enough exclusive games to warrant that. Personally, I'd hold off a few months are get one in a Christmas sale. They'll probably be selling dirt cheap with a Kinect bundle, then just trade the Kinect bundle in straight away. That's what I did last year. Ended up with a 360, a SF4 Arcade Stick, and SSF4AE for about $240. And that wasn't the 2GB model, it was the one up from that. I'm not sure, but I want to say 60GB?
  4. I'm looking at giving this a chance, but the Wii online is just terrible. I love the Wii, and I love Nintendo, but if this was on the 360, it'd be a no brainer for me.
  5. I've got to agree. With the right marketing, this OUYA could go nuts in sales.
  6. It's been a while since I've checked this thread. I dig the box art. I'd buy it.
  7. If that was me, I'd feel ripped off. Personally, I refuse to pay any more than $2 for a loose 2600 cart. These days it means that I don't get to pick up much, but I just don't see the value paying any more than that. If the cart is boxed, I don't pay any more than $10 unless it's brand new. And brand new 2600 games can still be easily picked up. On to the consoles. If it was boxed, in great condition, I'd be willing to pay $50. Atari 2600 stuff just isn't worth that much to me in terms of money. That said, if you're happy, well good for you and welcome to the club.
  8. I was just watching this, great interview. I've been meaning to start collecting Famicom for a while now but never committed, maybe now is the time for me to start.
  9. So I'm sitting here over the weekend with some Famicom games running through my Honeybee adaptor into my NES. Whilst I play I really wish I could read fluent japanese. Now I'm aware that there's fan translation patches for games running via emulation, but I really don't enjoy emulation. So then this thought popped into my head. Is there some kind of adaptor out there, similar to my Honeybee adaptor that takes say an SD card that you can upload a fan translation patch to and then run the physical cart through the adaptor into a NES console? Does such a thing exist? EDIT: I'd just like to add that these thoughts aren't limited purely to the NES. If there was something like this for the Saturn using the memory slot or something, that'd be great.
  10. While there's nothing to really show of my text adventure yet, it's been a long battle so far with constant changes to the once a week work that I put into the project. What was to be a standard text adventure has now had a massive setback since I've decided to incorporate heavy RPG battles and statistics. So now it's a Zork-Wizardy hybrid. Hopefully I'm not biting off more than I can chew. When I do get something that's actually worth showing, I'll let you guys know. Doesn't help that I'm learning the coding as I go along.
  11. I'm on the lookout for pirate carts for the Game Boy and Game Boy Color. The crazier the better, whether it be a Pokemon hack or anything like that.
  12. I enjoy finding Game Boy pirates in the wild. I'd never pay much for one, but they're always interesting ESPECIALLY if they're a crappy hack. I should note that if anyone has any, I'm keen
  13. None of my locals hired out games until the SNES hit. My first rental was The Lost Vikings. Loved it. Can't say I ever rented to many games. Actually, I can count them all on one hand. The Lost Vikings, Stunt Race FX, Street Fighter EX, and Final Fantasy 8.
  14. I love my Pokemon mini Pokemon Mini is rad. I picked mine up years ago for $3 from Kmart. And the game.com is terrible. It should be routinely destroyed much in the same way that ShaqFu is.
  15. I've always enjoyed Defender, but I am terrible at it. I'm pretty good at the Entex VFD handheld though.
  16. Just came across this new Dreamcast game set to be released Dec this year. I've already pledged my cash. Looks colourful. http://www.reduxgame.com/
  17. NES (a couple of them) SNES (several) N64 (several) Wii Game Boy Game Boy Colour Game Boy Advance (a couple) DS 3DS PS2 Xbox360 2600 (a few of them) XEGS Lynx Master System (several) Mega Drive (several) Mega CD Saturn Dreamcast Game Gear Radofin Advanced Programmable Neo Geo Pocket Colour Neo Geo MVS (surely this counts )
  18. The Cube is great in terms of library. A lot of people just don't give it a chance. The only reason I stopped playing Melee was cause Brawl was released.
  19. I dug it. I never played Diablo II, but greally got into the original. The only problem that I had was that I found talking in multiplayer to be quite clumsy, unless I just couldn't find the audio option.
  20. Anyone given Diablo 3 beta a crack this weekend? I'm still downloading as I foolishly stopped my install at 'playable' and went and did something else. Turns out you've got to wait for 100% with this thing.
