Brilliant, no. Very good, yes.

From memory there's close to 800 official titles released in both the NTSC and PAL regions. Not sure about just the US.

Not sure what size your magazines are, but if I had any that I wanted to take care of, I'd treat them like I do my comic collection.
If you don't want to go to that extreme you can buy plastic tubs with lids that are stackable 3 high.

The Aquarius, which was quickly upgraded to a 2nd hand C64.
EDIT: I actually still own the C64 from my childhood.

Coleco Tabletop. Pure nostalgia.

I had never heard someone call them something other than Snes and Nes until I came across american youtubers pronouncing it either S-N-E-S, or S-Nes. It was really weird, but I have gotten used to it. I still call it a Snes and a Nes.

I've had no internet for the last few weeks, so my time on AA has been non-existant! But we do have a Sturmwind update. Looks like the lack of updates is because they have been moving office, but they have found another company to produce the disks for them. So hopefully we'll be getting to play Sturmwind sometime soon!

Years ago I bought Ducktales for the NES off eBay. It didn't work. I looked at the board, and it looked like there was a tiny overload and had an electrical blowout. Thankfully I contacted the guy and sent him photo's and he gave me a refund. It's a cool paperweight though.

I regret selling my games when I had to upgrade to a newer system. I had some pretty badass games for the SNES and PSX, games which I now have to buy back at a premium.
-
If I still had them, I'd prob still play them. They were the best of the series.

Finally! This thing looked rad for the GBC.

there are Android handheld systems???

Is RuneScape retro? It was also first released in '99 and is still supported.

I LOVE the DC, but I don;t consider it retro, hell I don't consider the N64 retro. A lot of my friends would though.

I never even knew this existed!!! I thought it was some kind of fan made commercial at first. I love it!

I want this, but I still can't get it locally here in Australia. Looks like I'll be getting it from the UK sometime soon, but I'm not in a rush.

Glad I didn't preorder. I learned that lesson with OpenPandora.
Funny you should mention that as I'd only JUST heard about the OpenPandora and looked at their site. While I never see the value in emulation or a console that doesn't have dedicated physical media, I was slightly interested in the OP, until I saw the price.

I can barely afford new games here in Australia, that's why I collect classic, so that I can still afford to eat. If I can't buy a 2nd hand copy of a game months down the track, I'm going to miss out on so much. If The Big 3 all did it for their consoles, hopefully something crazy would happen. And by that I mean a new (or old) player comes to town with their own console that will allow you to play games from new or 2nd hand.
I just hope that if this DID happen, it'd be called the Dreamcast 2, and it'd be so second hand friendly that it'd be backwards compatible with the games from 1999.

Brilliant!

Just an update on Sturmwind, or really, an update of lack of updates. It's been over a month since anyone has heard anything from Red Spot Games, which is pretty bad since it was announced that we would be getting an announcement between the dates of Dec25 and Dec31 about what was happening with Sturmwind. Apparently, they're not even replying to customer emails about their products.

sports (and racing) simulators I couldn't care less about and they only come into my collection if I get them as part of a set. They sit in my collection until I find a use for them, usually as some kind of donor cart for something. Sports (and racing) arcade titles are a different matter though.

Looking forward to some PAL releases.

Looks fake, but even if it wasn't, there's no way that I'd fork out a heap of cash for something that didn't play dedicated physical media. If they put the games on SD cards for $5 a piece, then I'd buy it.

Saw the youtube vid, and I'm impressed! I'd like to see how challenging the later levels get.

Can we have a separate NES section here at AA?

I'm neither for or against it, I really don't see why there is a Mega Drive/Genesis forum though, it's not all that active.
