Terribly underrated game that is finally getting some love in recent times
-
When a game talked back then, it was something special. I remember when I'd boot up Impossible Mission and it would greet me with "Ah, we have a visitor. Stay a while. Stay forever!" It was the coolest thing ever. Now, heaps of games talk. It's not special anymore, it's expected.

I also think that Strider is a pretty rubbish game.

Just to let everyone know, I've chosen the C64 as the machine for the adventure. I rummaged around my shed, and found my two poorly boxed c64's. One with a busted keyboard and covered with rat piss, and one with no output and covered with rat piss. Took them apart, and made one working c64 covered with rat piss. Works a treat!

I was thinking he meant something more gameboy specific. my bad.

I recently looked around within the last few months, and I couldn't find anything.
Here's a good article though: http://www.racketboy.com/retro/nintendo/gameboy/the-rarest-and-most-valuable-gameboy-gbc-games

So rare it doesn't even have a rarity score, huh? Maybe we'll just call it a 10?

Great video as always MJ, I've been a subscriber for a while now and look forward to many more videos.
Any tips for uploading to youtube? I have nothing but problems with my uploads. Artefacts over the screen, audio cuts out. Pain in the ass really.

I've got a 2600 cart that I couldn't find on the AA rarity guide. The label reads:
2 PAK SPECIAL
* CAVERN BLASTER
* CITY WAR
Anyway, City War is Atlantis, but I don't know what Cavern Blaster is.
The top part of the screen is the game field. You're a ship, flying through a cavern avoiding epilepsy giving walls, missiles, gun turrets and monsters (?). The bottom half of the screen is filled with bars which represent Energy, Shield, Time, and Score.
Anyone know what the real name of this game is?

I don't have any kind of smartphone, but I've got Sonic CD on the Mega CD. Best Sonic game there is.

You don't have any kind of controller for your computer?
Nope. I tend to stay away from gaming on my computer, unless it's an RTS.

The hunt. But in my area there's only a small market for me to go to which has the same things every week, and garage sales don't normally turn up a lot of product. Really, eBay is my main option, but I hate paying the premiums.

I dug it's vibe, but I can't stand playing a game like this on my keyboard. If this was actually on a classic console, I'd fall in love.

When the playstation was out, it was the first and there was no PS2, so it wasn't called the Playstation 1, it was just the Playstation. Sony didn't like this being shortened to just PS, so they unofficially pushed an X on the end. Now today it is commonly referred to as the "PS1" in speech.
Either way is fine. I'll say "PS1" but I'll write "PSX"

SNES - Stunt RaceThank god I chose to hire this before buying. I really dodged a bullet there.

Would be nice to see some more Point and Click adventure games! Aside from Zack and Wiki, Telltale has made every single example I can think of this generation, and while their efforts are in fact great, I'd like to see some more.
Damn Zack and Wiki, I still can't beat the game! I refuse to use a walkthrough.

Far from being the worst game I've ever played, but Mighty Max for the SNES is the worst game I ever bought. I usually have a pretty good nose for picking the good from the bad, but I don't know what I saw in this game. I think it's just because the show kicked ass.

$17 for a Wavebird is a damn good price, as they're a damn good controller.

Best: The True SNES. Colours, man. Colours on the buttons!
Worst: Too many horrible looking systems, but I've got to go with... I dunno, I'll have a think, and then edit this.

Looks like NES and SNES are really dominating the pack.

I'm ready for the return of a true console, the Dreamcast 2

WiiU really doesn't interest me in the slightest, but I haven't gotten enough information about it.
Time will tell with the new Xbox and PS. But I'm not excited about the thought of either.
Honestly, think this will be the first gen that I won't be getting a console on or close to release since the 16bit console wars of the 90's.
And in terms of features, I'd love it if motion controls and touch screens were dropped all together. They just piss me off a majority of the time.
I usually play retro, simply because it's usually cheaper than the current gen.

I'm considering getting a PSVita after about a year after launch, ESPECIALLY if it flops. Why? Because it's backwards compatible, and it looks like it would be more suited to my hands than the PSP.
If it had a UMD drive, then I would call it backwards compatible. But it does not. I wouldn't even consider the 360 to be backwards compatible, as you have to go on their online service in order to boot up your old Xbox discs. I think that, currently, only Nintendo provides true out-of-the-box backwards compatibility.
Damn, did not realise it has no UMD drive. Just assumed that's what the games for it were on. I should really do some PS Vita research.

I dunno if I'll be putting my money down on the WiiU, I'll wait and see.

Names written on old games

I heard a story a while ago (can't remember where from, or all the details) about a collector who used modern internet tech to track down a guy who wrote his name on a cart (I have a feeling it was a NES cart). Anyway, this guy got all freaked out and was quite pissed that the collector had bought "HIS" game at some flea market.
