I didn't notice that, though it does match what Wiki has about the OBJ file:
Lines beginning with a hash character (#) are comments.
Just booted up the work machine and all the comments are on lines by themselves.
Wiki does show inline comments in the MTL file, though the files I have are on lines by themselves like in the OBJ files. -
I wrote an OBJ converter back in 2010 to import models into our spacecraft design suite. You can see the results of importing a shuttle model on our homepage. The software originally ran under X11, I was hired on to do the Windows port. Nathan did some freelance work us, he did the button and icon graphics for the port.
Might you have used the wrong notation for comments in the OBJ file? I just checked the shuttle OBJ and MTL files I used to test my routines and all the comments start with #. That follows what I see at wikipedia.

Thanks!
Everything except the DPC+ ARM Development series is on the backburner at the moment. I had too many concurrent projects, which made it difficult to switch from one to another - I was spending too much time trying to get back up to speed whenever I switched between projects.I started the DPC+ ARM series due to a request for help from another programmer, who wrote one of the top ten selling homebrews. He wants to use DPC+ with ARM for his next project. It's not far along, but already looks very slick.
Draconian's also on the backburner because I started working on a bus-stuffing scheme that'll make Draconian even better, I touch upon that here. I don't know how long it'll take to wrap up the DPC+ ARM series, nor do I know how long it'll take to develop the bus-stuffing scheme, so who knows when I'll get back to Draconian. As such, not much point in bringing it up over at the VGC forum. -
Eric's plan was for the track to be suspended from the jeep, with cutouts for the wheels. He ran out of time to do that. He plans to have that worked out for next year.
The jeep's transmission is in need of work so he didn't want to tow the trailer. He had trouble shifting into gear a few times and even stalled out once, though that was after the parade was over and we where on our way to meet everybody back at the hotel.

Hmm, just tried forcing stella and it kinda fixes the menu - it almost looks normal, but there's no snowman and I can't select any options.

Batari mentions the issue in this reply, and posted the fix in this reply:
To fix any errant DPC+ games, use a hex editor to change the bytes at offset 0x200 from 00 A0 85 to 01 A0 C5. Then they will load on Encore (or any other Harmony version) with no problem.
He also mentions that he's going to work on an updated BIOS for the Encore that will recognize and fix the bug automatically, though I don't know if that's happened yet.

My brother-in-law and his dad arrived yesterday afternoon so my mom and I went into town to have dinner with them (they're staying at the hotel closest to the parade's staging area). My sister arrived late last night, after mom & I had already returned home.
Eric had shirts made up for everybody, complete with our names like the one he's wearing in the photo. We'll all be wearing them today!

In case it's not clear how the delay works:
- If VDELP0 is on, any updates to GRP0 are delayed until GRP1 is written to.
- If VDELP1 is on, any updates to GRP1 are delayed until GRP0 is written to.
- If VDELBL is on, any updates to ENABL are delayed until GRP1 is written to - so it works the same as VDELP0.

The hardware in the Encore is slightly different than the Harmony and the original DPC+ driver doesn't work on it. This even affects some released games.
The games can be fixed using a hex editor, there's just a few bytes that need to be changed. We're getting ready to head out to the art car parade so I don't have time to track those instructions down for you. I think they were posted in one of the Encore topics in the Harmony forum.

The code changes for Part 9 are done, I still need to finish the blog entry. I have family arriving tonight for an extended weekend, so it probably won't get posted until Monday night.
I hope to see some work uploaded to the Task(s) for you topic by then - the task in Part 9 builds upon the task in Part 8.
-
I'll be in the parade this year, riding with my brother-in-law Eric and nephew Zander.

Slick demo. Congrats on 2nd!
-
That's slick!

Finished my taxes and mom's not coming until tomorrow, so I was able to finish and post Part 8!

Any progress on the Task for you?
I've started up a companion topic, DPC+ ARM Development - Task(s) for you, as I plan to continue ending each entry with a task. Please upload your work there since we can't attach them in a blog comment.
My hope is that what's posted will end up feeding back into the project.
-
Awesome, can't wait to see your project!
It'll probably be 2-3 weeks before Part 8 is posted as the next 2 weeks are going to be busy - still need to do up my taxes, mom's coming for Easter weekend(dad's working in Africa), then a bunch of friends & family will be in town for the Art Car Parade.
After that I'm going to try to post at least 1 DPC+ARM entry a week. I'll most likely put the SF2 series on the backburner until this series is finished, they both take a lot of time to work up the entries.

Finally had some free time last night and was able to finish the code for Part 7. I still need to add comments and write up the blog entry, so it's not ready to be posted yet - but at least some progress has been made!

The guide was up to date this morning

Got an update this morning - they've been able to recreate the problem. As any programmer can tell you, that makes it significantly easier to track down and fix the bug!
-
LOL - probably not, but I'll mention it!
I don't recall our clamps being purple. A quick search turned up this photo with a yellow one and a red one, as well as this blue one, so they were probably available in a variety of colors.
I was up at Fry's this weekend to check out 4K monitors and walked past their small Hot Wheels section. The track connectors are now blue, and have been redesigned with a push-button to make it easier to take the track apart. The new track pieces have a half-circle cutout at the end so when two track pieces are joined they make a circle for access to the button. There's also a small hole next to the cutout that the track connector attaches to.
-
I brought up the red connector and the response was "Oh crap....." so I gather he forgot out that

Per my sister it's already in motion.
