Did you read remowilliams' reply? I typed docastle in the search box on the site you listed and it came right up with a file for Mr. Do's Castle (set 1). Downloaded it and placed the ZIP file in the ROMs directory, ran an audit on the games and it worked when I selected Mr. Do's Castle (set 1) from the list. On my Mac the ROMs are stored in: My Home Directory/Library/Application Support/MAME OS X/ROMs TIP: type castle in MAME OS X's search box in the top-right corner so you don't have to scroll through the whole list.

Nicely done, though I don't recall a "rumble" feature when I played on the VCS last week! -

In the 1st picture it's telling you to look at the Log to see what went wrong. Have you done that? To view the Log select the 4th option in the Window menu. On your 2nd picture, the ALL that's blue denotes that you're looking at all the games that Mame OS X supports. It doesn't mean you have the ROMs for them. Click on the GOOD tab and you'll see the games that it can find the valid ROMS for.

Yep, have you seen the video for Corporate Cannibal? I found it over at Cliptip back on October 4th. Cliptip doesn't update very often, but they turn up some cool stuff when they do. They tend to be nice and large with really good video and sound quality and can often be saved to your hard drive(a few are streaming only). THE TING TINGS: Shut Up And Let Me Go REX THE DOG: I Can See You, Can You See Me? THE BPA: Toe Jam MGMT: Electric Feel & Time To Pretend. If you have 3-D glasses there's a streaming 3D version of Time To Pretend. It's quite trippy! THE PRESETS: This Boy's In Love & My People

We had a sixer growing up, never had any problem with the switches. It did stop working at one point and I was able to fix it by opening it up and re-seating 3 socketed chips. They possibly walked out of their sockets due to flexing, or maybe the climate in northern Illinois had something to do with it - in winter the heat would be turned down when nobody was home, then cranked back up when we were there. Yes, I have trouble with getting some games in my light sixer.

Know how that goes, been there before at a prior job. Thankfully we kept regular backups and I was able to restore the data.

I always liked Connections. Never would have thought of sewers and frogs being part of the path to the space shuttle. sewers -> ceramics -> Space Shuttle Tiles frogs -> detached legs moving when touched by 2 metals -> batteries

I clicked the "Date Submitted" column to quickly see new ones and to my surprise I saw the LEAD labels instead.

Source code found in ROMs

The LADS compiler I used on the C= 128 had line numbers. You entered the code just as if it were a BASIC program, using the standard load/save "filename",8. -
I thought this label was odd until I saw your bit about the backstory and read it. Just tried the game and sure enough, the tanks fall out of the sky! Wasn't expecting that I like the "pop" the explosion gives your 2nd submission, but with this additional information I like the way the 1st submission reinforces the unexpected meaning of "Incoming!". Now I'm torn between the two

not necessary - I've got my supercharger games encoded in AAC format at 128 kbps and the supercharger works fine with my various iPods. It could be a problem if they're MP3s encoded at 128 kbps.

One thing you may not be aware of was the Atari was originally designed with stereo sound in mind. The 2 speakers were going to be inside the console (if I recall correctly, having a speaker inside the game unit was common at that point in time). This was probably dropped for cost savings and the audio was routed to the TV instead. However, TVs didn't begin to support stereo until the mid 80s, so stereo was no longer a feature. The case mold was already done and you can see where the speakers were going to be installed. Some of the older games, such as Combat, where written before the design change and thus were done with 2 discrete speakers in mind. Not as stereo per say, but with the left player's sound effects coming out the left speaker and the right player's on the right. Later games didn't worry about which audio channel was used as it no longer mattered. You can modify the Atari* to extract the stereo sound, and Medieval Mayhem was written to take advantage of it. You can hear it on my MM online page - the dragon flaps occur left, center, right as the dragon flies across the screen and sound effects for fireball collisions and king deaths come out the proper side. Feel free to use the above photo if you'd like to cover this in your presentation. You may also use my Config File to tell JStella that MM uses stereo sound. The homebrew Skeleton+ also takes advantage of stereo. There may be others. Is this website going to be accessible online somewhere? It may not be a bad idea to have Atari Age users proof it. *NTSC only - the TIA chip on PAL systems premixes the 2 audio channels and sends it out 1 pin. The other pin was repurposed to output PAL-S. I don't know what PAL-S is, but based on the name I'd assume its a signal required by the PAL TV standard.

That's pretty wild. Do they correspond to code in the game they were found in? -
Yep, it's still around, though it may not be as you remember it because they relocated to Richmond at some point.

I think that's me at 4:16 playing Rally X.

Had fun! Introduced Al and Mary (hope I remembered her name correctly) to Hobbit Cafe for dinner. I wouldn't recommend doing both on the same day. You can do Ren Fest on Sunday though

RGC? I knew they did AC 2008 and AC 2007 in the spring, wasn't aware they had a fall event as well - will have to google it Yep, it's my take on Warlords. Amongst other changes, I added back a few missing arcade features like the dragon, multiple fireballs and fireball flareups (where holding onto a fireball too long will knock out pieces of your own castle). I've got a page with videos and such if you'd like to check it out. There's a ROM available for use with an emulator, or you can play it online; though, in both cases, the mouse makes a poor paddle substitute. Al sells it in cartridge form for use with a real 2600, I believe the Atari Age store front's supposed to reopen in December.
