I thought HID was Human Input Device?

I used 32K for Medieval Mayhem. Check the source, specifically the JUMP_TABLE macro. Minor changes would be needed for 16K, or you could go for 32K and include music, fancy menu, etc. The menu in Medieval Mayhem took up 6K for the graphics and code.

3553 I've done better, but this will have to do for this go around.

Anyone think Ballblazer is possible on the 2600?
SpiceWare replied to Segataritensoftii's topic in Homebrew Discussion
I use that in Medieval Mayhem to set the ball and missiles. ldx #ENABL ; 2 75 need to reset stack txs ; 2 77 cpy BLyOddRow ; 3 4 php ; 3 7 cpy M1yOddRow ; 3 10 php ; 3 13 cpy M0yOddRow ; 3 16 php ; 3 19 I have an EvenRow and OddRow for each object so they appear over 2 scan lines instead of just 1. -
Looks great! I'm partial to #2. Wow - 73 labels! Of course 16 of them are yours Don't recall how many MM had; a bunch are missing, including the winning entry.

Is a conversion of Microvision games on 2600 possible?
SpiceWare replied to lucifershalo's topic in Atari 2600
I have heard that it's susceptible to screen rot, a lot of older technology has longevity issues - things like the rollers in punch card readers "melting" due to age. Thankfully the 2600 doesn't seem to have issues that can't be fixed. -
Good riddance to bad rubbish... Part 2

Me too - my only high-speed option is Comcast. Verizon provides my phone service, but FiOS isn't available here, and neither is DSL. I get great speeds with Comcast, but for about half a year they would throttle my connection to less than dial up speeds whenever I would video conference. Whenever I'd call they'd act like nothing was going on, though I knew better. They've stopped doing that, but because they lied to me I plan to switch as soon as I get another high-speed option. A friend recently switched from Comcast to DirecTv and is very happy with it. He doesn't notice it, but I noticed a lot more artifacts on some of their HD channels than I'm used to seeing on Comcast. Other HD channels looked just as good so I suspect it's related to the format they receive the original signal in - they're transmitting an MPEG4 signal for most of their HD content and converting on the fly from MPEG2 makes it more susceptible to artifacts. I planning to switch(in part because of the "we're not throttle you" issue and in part because of HD channels they offer that Comcast does not, like SciFi), but need to get my roof repaired first as the back slope needs to be totally re-shingled and that's where the dish will be installed. -

A little perspective helps - when it was released in 79 it was the first portable to use cartridges. While the screen is crappy compared to a the DS and PSP, it was state of the art for the time. I had a lot of fun with mine, wonder whatever happened to it. -
Any free slots? Here's a USB 2.0 PCI card for $19.99.

That could be it - I never have lockups and I see that Stella's set to Software Rendering. I'll have to try OpenGL mode this weekend and see if it locks up.

If you think Warlords is awesome, then you owe it to yourself to check out Medieval Mayhem.

Impressive! This replay of level 32 can be beat, I did it during playtesting - you just can't screw up at all. 232,439

Good riddance to bad rubbish... Part 1

I didn't think so either, until I started to factor in how much the ink was costing me(especially considering how much was getting tossed because it dried out) and the amount of time I spent fighting with the printer. Lack of frustration is priceless That they do - my prior scanner was an Epson 1650. I replaced it because I started to do a lot of scanning and it was a painfully slow USB 1 scanner. A few seconds is wicked fast, especially for 11x17. Of course I would expect that for something that cost over 20x what I paid for mine. -

I got tired of the ink drying out as well and went with a laser printer, the Xerox Phaser 6120. I got it for $350 from CDW back on 6-7-07. It came with standard toner cartridges, 1500 pages for the color and 4500 pages for the black. I've not yet replaced any of the cartridges. The color has 240 pages left so I'll probably have to replace them by the end of the year. It's a networked printer and supports Apple's Bonjour which makes it very handy when friends or family visit. For the rare few visiting with a Windows laptops I just have them install Bonjour for Windows. I already had a stand alone Epson Perfection 2480 Photo USB scanner that I'd picked a number of years ago from Fry's for $50. It was a refurbished unit. -
You don't - I wasn't able to squeeze in a level indicator with all the slick graphics that Nathan created. That's something I'd like to address in SF2.

225,057 Playing with Stella due to the lockups. Haven't had any yet, but I did notice it's harder to play on Stella for some reason.
-
You're both on level 32. Finish it then you'll get a free Frosty and start back at level 1. However, there's a slight increase in temperature which causes the ice to melt a little faster.
-
mind sending me the source to play around with?

Thanks! The game idea was Nathan Strum's, I just ran with it You may like to check out my Stay Frosty Page, which has some development info on it.

Ah - then I think the issue is the shape is tied to the sprite's Y value. I think it would work better if it morphed through the shapes independent of the Y value. I also have a suggestion for the RCV level - the mountains in the background currently move at the same rate as the tripled sprite above the RCV. You'd get a parallax effect if the mountains moved slower.

I was referring to the sprite that moves up/down and kills you if you hit it, it looks like random garbage. I know about the star issue in Stella from Stay Frosty, I used MESS to take the snapshot of the night scene at the bottom. My new digital camera takes movies - here's a video I just took of it. The image has to be on the internet somewhere. To add it use the "Insert Image" button, it looks like this:
