Wow - - extremely cool video, as is the song itself. Just wish I could find a clearer version of the video. I now have all 4 albums

No problem - I wouldn't have been listening to them if I hadn't seen your blog entry

Amtrak service from Houston (HOS) to San Diego(SAN) is a 41 hour trip. Here's their route map. Interesting - besides the expected Spanish, their site is available in German.
  5. 413,240 dang, had to answer a phone call. I can definitely foresee rolling this, it doesn't get any harder.

Yep, the US is pretty spread out. That's something I've noticed a lot of Europeans don't seem to realize. One friend in Detroit had some visitors from Europe who thought they could hop in the car for a day trip to Disney World - they were shocked to discover what they thought to be a 1-2 hour drive was more like 18

Ah yes, The Normal - used to listen to "Warm Leatherette" in the clubs in Houston in the late 80s. Have an MP3 of it Didn't know it had been covered. Never heard TVOD before, pretty good. Tracked down iConcertCal and have it installed it again.

Yeah, it was at a small venue - would have been really fun. I used to have a plug-in for iTunes that would compare the artists with concerts in your area and let you know who was playing. Forgot to reinstall it when I did a clean install of Leopard, I'll have to see if I can't track that down again. Also recently found from down under.

Just heard Ladytron / Ghosts - I now have 3 of their albums
  11. I don't. Back then the hardware in the arcades exceeded the hardware in the homes. Nowadays the hardware in the homes exceed the hardware used in arcade games - how many arcade games have you seen that are displaying at 1920x1080?
  12. Never saw the UFO one - looks like a live action Thunderbirds. Ah, I see it's another Gerry Anderson show
  13. iPhone 2.0 update seems to be nice, been having fun with a few games on it. I'm holding out for a 32 GB model as well before considering 3G.
  14. You have to tell Stella to use paddles, it defaults to joysticks. Load up your bin hit TAB select GAME PROPERTIES select CONTROLLER tab
  15. 345,945 Nice score DarthCalvin! Is there a SithHobbes?
  16. Forgot about the Joy-Sensor - had one hooked up to my C= 64.
  17. Same here, loved Speed Racer and Star Blazers as a kid. I was introduced to Robotech in college - we used to have a weekly "Star Trek" gathering at my place and one friend started bringing over VHS tapes of Robotech he'd recorded and we'd watch that before Star Trek. Of the other things Nathan listed I really liked Cowboy Bepop, and also didn't care for Ghost in the Shell. Others I like: Akira - most people I've shown it to really like it until it gets to the ending when they go "huh?". I have this one on a Criterion Collection Laser Disk and will most likely upgrade it to the Blu-ray version when it comes out. Tenchi Muyo - the OVA(original video animation - aka direct to video) is great, though I'm not a big fan of the later TV series. This series is the one that caused me to buy a Laser Disk player because I was able to find the series on laser disk but not VHS. Macross Plus - part of the Macross series, of which Robotech is kinda sorta part of. Music plays a big part in this, I have a few music CDs from it. Check out the Sharon Apple Concert at YouTube. Another one on Laser Disk. About half my Anime is on Laser Disk, the other half on DVD. Serial Experiments Lain - Kinda Matrixy, though it preceeds Neo and Gang. A couple others worth your time are Haibane-Renmei and The Irresponsible Captain Tylor.
  18. You can put him on your fridge. I'm partial to #3 You can also play a few homebrews on him.
  19. I've soldered in new console switches on mine. The Atari's easy to work on as the traces are quite large However, if you're going to break out a soldering iron anyway it would be better to AV mod' it and bypass the RF output entirely. The picture from my AV mod'ed Atari looks like this, and stereo sound is an added bonus.
