Um, aren't the manuals and labels already printed?

Marble Madness was one of my favorite arcade games. I'd have been really disappointed if the sequel was released with joysticks.
-
Yep - melting snow can do that

That would be easy to do. Only tradeoff is the extra CPU time to update the background color on every scan line may conflict with things you'd like the display kernel to do.

Got the optical cable, my PS2 is back in business. First thing I noticed was the video quality isn't quite as nice as the PS3, which is rendering the PS2 games at 1080i on my system(my set doesn't support 1080p). Second thing I noticed was vibration - didn't realize how much I missed it. Third thing I noticed was I played better on the PS2 - specifically my middle finger didn't slide off the R2 button like it occasionally does on the PS3's "trigger style" button.

I've got all 3 loaded on my Krok cart. Didn't notice a difference between the two flicker routines. They both look better than the initial version, but I do prefer the non-flicker kernel. I did zones for Stay Frosty where each zone maxed at 50 scanlines(zones vary in size, even during a level to create the elevator platforms). I used a mask to eliminate the padding for each image. ; in the kernel lda (FrostyImageZone1),y and (FrostyImageZone1),y; mask the image tax lda (FrostyColorZone1),y sta WSYNC sta COLUP0 stx GRP0 ... The mask is padded with 50 zeros on both sides: repeat 50 .byte 0 repend repeat 25 .byte $ff repend FrostyMask: repeat 50 .byte 0 repend An image is not padded: .byte zz__XXXX__; 0 .byte zz_XXXXXX_; 1 .byte zzXXXXXXXX; 2 .byte zzXXXXX_XX; 3 .byte zzXXXXXXXX; 4 .byte zzXXXXXXXX; 5 .byte zzXXXXX_XX; 6 .byte zzXXXXXXXX; 7 .byte zzXXXXXXXX; 8 .byte zz_XXX_XX_; 9 .byte zz__XXXX__; 10 .byte zz__XXXX__; 11 .byte zz___XX___; 12 .byte zz__X__X__; 13 .byte zz_X___XX_; 14 .byte zz_X____X_; 15 .byte zz_X_XXXX_; 16 .byte zz_XXX_XX_; 17 .byte zz__X_X___; 18 .byte zz___XXX__; 19 .byte zz__XXXX__; 20 .byte zz___XX___; 21 .byte zz___XX___; 22 .byte zz___XX___; 23 .byte zz___XX___; 24 FrostyGraphic0:

SpiceWar? Something going down on Arrakis? -
I tried Frequency last night and it played just fine. Guess the performance depends on the game. Still plan to get another optical cable and leave the PS2 hooked up.

Sweet! -
Looks OK on my C= 1084S, it can handle PAL so the ~269 scan lines is OK, just minor jitter since it's not consistently 269.

That should work fine. I use an older version, the USA-19Qi. I think the only difference is the newer model can go up to 230 kbps, which is twice as fast, but that doesn't matter for the AtariVox. I should probably clarify - I'm using the USB adapter with the AtariVox serial adapter. Having the USB adapter will streamline the setup as the AtariVox serial adapter also needs an external power supply. I don't have a label on my AtariVox because I had the original model(as seen here) and Richard sent me the new case & circuit board. I just had to swap the chips from the old board over to the new board.

Not yet. I kinda got sidetracked with Stay Frosty and a new job last year I'd like to use it on my next game though, so there's some incentive to finish what I got started(all it does so far is connect and say "SpiceWare"). That should work fine. I use an older version, the USA-19Qi. I think the only difference is the newer model can go up to 230 kbps, which is twice as fast, but that doesn't matter for the AtariVox.

I bought an 80 GB model last month and while it is backward compatible, it's not that great as they decided to do it via software rather than hardware like the earlier PS3s. The PS1 games play fine, PS2 games have crappy frame rates. I am happy with the PS3 though, and have been enjoying a number of Blu-ray movies on it. Apparently it's one of the best Blu-ray players on the market right now, a number of people at the Home Theater Spot have a PS3 just for Blu-ray movies.

You might like to check out Medieval Mayhem. There's more info at my website, including videos, reviews and even online play.

Batman: The movie (1966) is much better than Batman&Robin (1997)! But it´s 31 years after not six!! BTW- WRONG THREAD, HONEY..... the thread was revived from a 6 year old topic

Yep, it's been cold. My brother lives in Nekoosa, in central Wisconsin, and their high yesterday was -3, with a low of -17. We got down to the 30s last night, which is plenty cold for Houston.

Keypad + Joystick Together; Is it Possible?
SpiceWare replied to Gemini's topic in 2600 Programming For Newbies
Yep, it is possible. I have some source code you can check out. http://spiceware.org/dds/index.html -
Hopefully it will see the light of day. Hmm - in case you're not familiar with that phrase, hopefully it will be released.

That's too bad, you probably could have finished X-Race as the last of the game ROMs were posted this morning for supercat to consolidate with the menu.

I think it was released sometime this afternoon, most likely after the keynote.
