The previous final build worked fine on my Krok Cart, so I don't know what I'd be looking for here. The problem I had, I would assume, was specific to that particular cart.
Possibly specific to the EEPROM - I tested 9 other Medieval Mayhem carts from Al in my 2600, and they all worked OK(well, 4 of them had the "jitter bug", but no weird crashes). I just wanted some people to test it to make sure my fix didn't break something - I've had that happen before

Too bad about the bugs, but regardless it's good to hear that my utility did its job...
Great utility, just a month too late for my release
What's your utility written it? I'd like to recompile for OS X if possible. I transferred the LST file from my iMac G5 to my MacBook to check under XP(via Parallels). -
Sure hadn't, thanks - that has potential.
I like the tape-player style music player on their site. Hit next/previous for a neat effect.

Bummer. I had to send my MM cart back too, it would freak out after playing a note or two of the music. I play tested each MM cart I gave as an Xmas gift, and they all worked fine.

I sometimes wonder wether that is just because I was "there" when the 80's happened or because music was really so much better then. But well, I'm completely "stuck in the 80's" anyway, just like I never grew up

It just might be better - a number of my relatives(in their 20s, early 30s) prefer 80s music over 90s(when they were "there"). During the 90s I didn't find many new groups I like, but lately that's been changing. A recent mix-CD I made has The Bravery, BT, Coldplay, Dirty Vegas, Fischerspoon, Gorillaz, Hooverphonic, Ladytron and Scissor Sisters on it.

Bit rusty on my German(for the 1st one), but I like
My favorite music is 80s - The Cars, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, etc.

Reminds me of the picture quality of an Apple QuickTake Camera(probably the 100 model as I was only able to take 8 photos) that I borrowed from friends to take some photos of a family business in the mid 90s. My friends are in this photo.

Amiga CD32 Joypad - red button = fire, blue button = smart bomb.
Also tried a six-button Genesis controller. B = fire, C = smart bomb.
both difficulty switches at B for both controllers.

save states helped - finally made it past the 4th level. I think you'll need to do something(maybe sound effect) to make it more obvious that something important happened when you jump on the root while carrying a leaf.
-

I think the bird on the 3rd screen should be removed and added back on the higher level versions of that screen - I've had enough frustrations for one night and will try to get to the 4th screen again tomorrow.

Very true. Much of the polish in Medieval Mayhem came from ideas people put forth in the forum and my blog.If you don't regularly frequent the game development forums here - you should. You never know when your suggestions might help improve one of the many homebrews being developed. If a programmer asks for people to test a game and make suggestions - go for it! -
I tried that - the leaf just disappeared.
I'll try it again tonight to see if I can figure out what I didn't notice yesterday

Ducking helps a lot. I was able to get to level 4, but had no idea what to do. I can get the leaf, and assume the exposed tree roots are the trampolines but can't get to the worms or figure out how to do anything with the leaf.
-
Being able to duck would help immeasurably.Same thought here, though I'm still on level 2

Good stuff! I got the album off iTunes a little over a week ago for $12. That includes the videos, including White & Nerdy.
This is the second Weird Al album I've purchased. I gather the first is quite rare as it's going for $125-$220 used

-
neat, but frustrating

Thanks for the links, that's some good stuff! I just nabbed Ladytron's album 604 off iTunes after checking out the video for Playgirl. The 20 track album goes for $9.99.
I discovered Fisherspooner 1 1/2 years ago via the mash-up We Need a Filthy War by DJ Earworm where he mashes together music by Fischerspooner, Scissor Sisters, Chemical Brothers, Pet Shop Boys, Edwin Starr and Culture Club. Have you heard Fisherspooner's Mega Colon? I never would have thought I'd have a 5 star song in my playlist about constipation

Another favorite mash-up by DJ Earworm is Don't Mess with Orgasmatron(and yes, there's explicit content in this one). This one combines music from Eurythmics, Avenue D, Mousse T. and Anthony Rothe.
I'll check your other links tomorrow - it's time for bed

I had a bunch of friends over playing the "arcade collection" version of it on my PS2. It was a lot of fun until we realized we could keep hitting the "quarter" button and never die. It quickly became boring after that.

Found it - forgot to turn off video output. The vertical retrace doesn't work correctly if there's a video signal.
OverScan lda #2 sta VBLANK ;turn off video output LDA #35 ;Prepare timer to exit OverScan. STA TIM64T ;Turn it on.
The flicker is really bad with the white background. I changed the color inits to this and it looks fine:
Reset LDA #$00 STA COLUBK LDA #$82 STA COLUP0 STA COLUP1

Trip to Modern Arcade

I've been disappointed with arcades for quite some time. I think the biggest failure is games at the arcade are no better than games that can be played at home. Back in the day the arcade games exceeded the capabilities of the home systems.
