  1. Which models have the best build quality? I like well built, sturdy computers. I consider durable to be whichever one feels better built than the C64. Are the A800XLs reliable?
  2. What games are there on cassette in America? I'm a big fan of cassette loading for some strange reason ( I had this same conversation over at Lemon64, my username over there is TeamRocketReviews). I don't know why, but loading a game from a cassette tape is the very definition of cool. I think I'n going to get the 800XL. I'm trying to build a general collection of the definitive vintage computers, so which model is the most iconic/definitive/well known? I want to have the definitive version of each of the classic computers of the 80's.
  3. Never mind about that auction, I got a 4 Switch woodgrain, 2 joysticks a pair of paddles, and 14 games from my local retro game store. It was a really good deal. The had a boxed 5200 and a boxed Lynx, a Virtual Boy, a tower of Gamecubes that reached up to the ceiling, a TI-99/4A, which I almost bought, and a nonworking SNES shoved inside an Xbox 360. Pretty cool place

    Kaboom!

I can't even get past 300 points, too fast for me. But it's one of my favorite games to play on the 2600. I've heard that the Bomber's face changes after you get 10,000 points, but that's out of the question for me.
  5. I'm just getting into Vintage Computers. I have a Commodore 64, but I need to repair it, and in the meantime, I'm looking for another vintage computer to add to my collection. I singled out the Atari 8-bit after seeing some videos on YouTube that showed what it could do. I'd really like to get the original 800 instead of the 800XL, because it would fit my early 80's gaming collection. But I only found one on eBay, and it's expensive. So what type should I get? What's the earliest model that will run most of the games? How many NTSC games are there on cassette tape? (I'm a cassette tape freak)? What happened to my sandwich?
  6. I think I would say that Yar's Revenge is the quintessential Atari game. It came out in 1981, which was when Atari was at it's peak, and it has such classic gameplay. I personally would say it's my favorite Atari game.
  7. Does this look like a good listing? Should I go for it?
  8. I've never owned an atari before, so I just assumed that was a dust cover from experience with SNES, Genesis, etc.
  9. I found this Craigslist listing, it looks good, but is the dust cover missing? I can see the connectors in the cartridge slot. Is this possible? http://nh.craigslist.org/vgm/2534953373.html
