Just saw some random guy on Reddit who wanted to buy the "rights" to the SID chip. LOL

Why do you put “rights” in quotes? Commodore patented the SID chip. They applied for the patent in 1983, which was finally granted in 1987. It’s been a long time since my class in IP law, but historically patents were granted for 14 years so the SID was still controlled until 2001 or so.
