Got my first hyper elliptical stylus for my turntable today and I'm amazed that I didn't bother with getting one sooner. Added lots of detail and it's greatly reduced inner groove distortion on some of my more questionably mastered records.

  Must be nice to find something with a fancy name living up to it.

  I can't use an elliptical stylus with my turntable without changing the headshell... I learned this when I bought a new cartridge (they discontinued the spherical one apparently).

  I added an elliptical stylus to my TT just after Christmas and I wouldn't even bother playing records without one now. A separate phono stage also gave the sound a massive boost.
