  1. That's strange since the Ghostly edition is supposed to come with one, have you contacted Analogue about this?
  2. Honestly the best way is to ask around here, or wait for the right deal to come along. I got my loose copy of Alien Brigade for something like $20 six years ago on eBay, and that was largely because I happened to be at the right place at the right time. You just have to be patient sometimes. Also, the idea of AA making repros of rare 7800 games was brought up in this thread and Al has said that he'd much rather not do that.
  3. I wasn't aware of that, good to know.
  4. Tim Worthington (the creator of the NESRGB and 2600RGB) restarted work on the 7800RGB recently, I'll have to ask him how he's progressing on that...
  5. It does not, all it does is allow you to play Asteroids without inserting a cart and removes the encryption check in the BIOS. PAL games won't even work in a stock NTSC 7800 because they'll fail the encryption check at boot. Even if you bypassed that, a good chunk of PAL games will either have severe graphical glitching or just won't work. You also can't use a PAL 7800 in the US unless you have a multisystem TV, or mod the system with AV or S-video out and use it with a PVM or other monitor that can take 50 Hz PAL video.
  6. Ikari Warriors is 128 KB in size so AA wouldn’t be able to do a repro unfortunately.
  7. Welp tax return just came in, maybe I should get back into the Jaguar

*sees that even broken Jags start at $100+ on eBay*

    ...Scratch that I guess

Considering I bought my original one for $40 boxed back in 2004 I am kicking myself right now hahaha

It's ridiculous what the Jag goes for nowadays. I just don't get it.

Tempest 2000 is good, but it's not the prices Jag fetch on eBay good.

Or is everybody just suddenly itching for a 64-bit kiss?

  8. So I got my spare Vader 2600 modded with a UAV board and it seems like the composite video signal is overboosted, any ideas?

  9. The Jr. kit also covers the 4-switch models so that is why you had some extra parts laying around. The electrolytics aren't needed, but the two small capacitors are meant to be replacements for the audio capacitors (the silver components on the bottom right). They can be prone to faliure so if your Jr. ever loses audio, you'll have replacement parts ready. The two white capacitors are replacements for a couple of chiclet capacitors on the 4-switch model, as some of them had defective caps.
  10. Ahh dontcha just love it when you open up a console and find a bug's nest inside

I do not. I bought an NES back in 2005-ish, and it wasn't working so I opened it up and found what looked like a roach nest. I tossed the whole thing in the trash, wasn't even going to try to deal with it. *shivers*

  11. Grabbed a UAV board last night so I can finally sell off that Vader 2600 I have laying around, would anyone be interested?

Cool. I would be interested if it's the UAV with s-video.

S-video would definitely be in the cards for this thing.

  12. Got my 800XL's SOPHIA board transplanted into my new 1200XL today...

  13. I just got ahold of a 1040STF today and after doing an inspection I noticed that the PSU board is in questionable shape. I could tell something had exploded inside it and was then repaired, but the repair job looks iffy and I'm very hesitant to even plug the thing in. So instead of taking a risk I've decided to go ahead and replace the entire PSU with a PicoPSU, specifically this model. Now I believe the 5V rail on this should be more than enough to power the ST and a Gotek, but I'm not sure about the 12V rail. The documentation I've found for this says that the 12V rail has 400 mA of current but I don't think that's enough for the floppy drive if I ever decide to use it again. Thoughts?
  14. Ever look at a power supply board and immediately think "yeah not even plugging that in"? That's me rn

Just got an untested 1040STF today and saw that something exploded in the PSU... and was then repaired... badly

  15. Not officially anyway, the 5200 version was ported by Glenn "The 5200 Man" Botts along with most other 5200 exclusives many years ago.
  16. I bought one of their refurbed controllers at CGE back in 2004... still works and I don't think I've ever had to do any maintenance come to think of it.
  17. My dude, I've been dealing with Brad for the past few years and he's always been pleasant to deal with. I've even met him in person to pick up stuff I've bought. It's just that I find his ordering system to be rather antiquated and honestly it shouldn't require to dig through pages to find what you want. And yet somehow that makes me an "entitled millennial" like I'm just some caricature. Got it.
  18. I’m in the process of ordering from Brad and I too had to dig through my spam folder to find his response to my inquiry. I really want someone to volunteer to clean up his website because we’re now in 2020 and frankly it’s inexcusable that his site still looks the way it does. You also have to look at the addendum to get an up-to-date list of his stock, and even then he still lists stuff that’s been out of stock for ages. I asked about possibly getting an 800 top case, but he’s been out of stock for over 17 years and he’ll never get any in. Granted he lists it as out of stock, but there comes a time when you need to take stuff off the list because it’s been out of stock for so long. A shopping cart system would do wonders for him too, having to contact him in such a specific way just to order something is a pain TBH.
  19. Wowee, didn’t think I’d see a post from my 13-year old self ever again LOL
  20. Oh hey I just bought one of your 1040STFs on eBay recently, looking forward to it!
  21. Welp folks I’m an ST owner again

TT030 or Mega STE would be the way I would go if I had to revisit.
