AtGames does that with their crap (and I do mean crap in every sense of the word) but Hyperkin typically uses cloned hardware for their consoles save for the 77. It's most likely a GOAC console with a cheap built-in composite to HDMI converter, similar to what they do with their "HD" NES and SNES clones.Makes me wonder if they are using emulation for this one, and if so, the soft image might be a filter applied that can be disabled. Otherwise, man.. That would be a deal breaker for me. I like my pixels nice and sharp (not that this product is for me either, but I'm always interested in seeing the progress of these things over the years).

It's 100V, actually.Actually Japan uses 200V and NTSC, so not an issue.
I thought Japan was PAL too for some reason, but nnnnnope. But anyway, to test the 7805 you'll have to use a multimeter and set it to test DC voltage. With the front of the 7805 facing you, place the red probe on the third leg of the 7805, and then the black probe on anywhere there's ground (i.e. middle leg of the 7805). If you're not getting 5V or anything close to it, then the 7805 needs to be replaced.

FINALLY, goddamn. My family preordered one for me as a birthday gift and I've been waiting to see if they were gonna post anything (other than pointless game pictures on social media). They did finally announce something about Super NT shipping at least

I remember seeing these in the AA store 15-16 years ago and I missed them a lot when they were taken down, gonna have to grab one or two soon...

If you're still in need of both chips I have plenty of 4168s (some of which were pulled from an SMS) and a 2A03. PM me if you're interested...

Nope, composite video only. How about the laser active? I assume it has an s-video output as most LDs did back then so I assume it would count as having s-video out.
-
It most certainly will, and you can also switch the SOPHIA to output component if you don't feel like dealing with trying to get an RGB setup going.Won't do any good on NTSC it looks like.

Except for the two Wondermega models which have S-video out of the box...ALL models of the Genesis and MD by extension have to be modded for S-video.
-
That looks pretty sharp, I've been waiting for one of these projects to come along since my CV died and it looks like this might be the one.A more updated look of the Phoenix

I had an S-video mod in my 5200 and I replaced it with the SOPHIA board over a year ago. In my case I used an 8-pin mini-DIN jack for the output instead of the DB9 connector that Simius provided, and swapped out the old S-video connector with it. Didn't have to drill any additional holes and the video output is perfect, never going back to S-video again after this.In my case to try and use a Sophia would mean I have to undo the s-video out I already have installed. Most might think that isn't an issue, but since I have the holes and everything already in place it is.

That won't work, it's too shallow and the pin pitch is way off.

Do you have any pictures of your work?

Finally got around to wiping the list on the first post as I was getting PMs for items on the list that weren't mine, and the list hadn't been updated since 2011. I'm too busy offline these days to maintain it, so if anyone wants to start a new thread and maintain it they can feel free to do so. I'm going to contact Al and ask him to unpin this once someone creates a new thread.

I'm willing to sell mine, it's hardly been used and it still has both stickers on the sides! Maybe $20 plus shipping?

They seem to work quite well with the Genesis 2 and X'Eye, the voltage is a little bit lower than the original PSUs for those but it gets stepped down to 5V anyway. If you really wanted to, you could build little adapter dongles so you can use it with a multitude of systems, this is actually what I do for most of my consoles.Long story short, I just got a PS2 with no power supply, and ordered one on eBay. Shipment is taking forever, and I'm off this weekend. It's the PS2 slim, 70,000 series (two part power supply, small hole in the back). So before it comes, does anything else work with it that's safe to use? I have about 50 different systems, so I have plenty to choose from. Or even if Target sells something that I can buy and return when it arrives. I thought the PS1 or PS3 would be the same, but those are one-part supplies.
Thanks in advance!

Can we get detailed pics of the board? Also what power supply are you using?

I have the SOPHIA mod on my 5200, it’s incredible and the video quality is even better than the S-vid mod that I had. It also helps since I have an OSSC as my main setup now and I don’t have to worry about using an external transcoder since the 5200 now has RGB.

Loose games aren't as expensive as they used to be I've noticed, and that seems to be the case with a lot of pre-crash stuff. I remember it all peaking around 2003/2004 and it just started sliding down from there.
-
Any chance of an SG-1000 adapter or is this gonna be CV only?
-
Looks like someone copied my RGB board using SMD instead of DIP components, not cool.
LOL bet you're regretting not putting out DIY kits now
-
Either you have a thin cable with poor (or no) shielding or your SCART converter doesn't like the 2600RGB's output. I have an OSSC and it works great with the 2600RGB, no interference problems.
-
Get an F18A and an OSSC. Done.

My guess is because the TG-16's expansion port has a slightly different shape compared to the PCE. It's the exact same pinout on both systems but the TG-16 has a trapezoidal connector whereas the PCE is rectangular.I don't know why it isn't listed as compatible with TG-16.

Anyone here ever repair a Famicom?
