  1. AtGames does that with their crap (and I do mean crap in every sense of the word) but Hyperkin typically uses cloned hardware for their consoles save for the 77. It's most likely a GOAC console with a cheap built-in composite to HDMI converter, similar to what they do with their "HD" NES and SNES clones.
  2. Just placed a pre-order for the Mega Sg, wondering if anyone would be interested in an FM-modded SMS or SG-1000 II...

  3. It's 100V, actually. But anyway, to test the 7805 you'll have to use a multimeter and set it to test DC voltage. With the front of the 7805 facing you, place the red probe on the third leg of the 7805, and then the black probe on anywhere there's ground (i.e. middle leg of the 7805). If you're not getting 5V or anything close to it, then the 7805 needs to be replaced.
  4. Bought an old iPhone 5c to mess around with and the seller forgot to log out of their iCloud account on it. Great.

Yes, it's an anti-theft feature called "Activation Lock." The seller needs to unlock it ASAP or refund everything you paid, including return shipping. Otherwise you just bought a brick. Possibly a stolen brick if the seller can't unlock it.

Been going back and forth with the seller, turns out it was his late wife's phone and he's actually been helping me to get it unlocked. We'll see how this goes...

  5. FINALLY, goddamn. My family preordered one for me as a birthday gift and I've been waiting to see if they were gonna post anything (other than pointless game pictures on social media).
  6. Definitely picking this up in November, looks awesome.
  7. I remember seeing these in the AA store 15-16 years ago and I missed them a lot when they were taken down, gonna have to grab one or two soon...
  8. Here's hoping the Classic Gaming board stays free of pedantic "what if?" threads for a while LOL

  9. If you're still in need of both chips I have plenty of 4168s (some of which were pulled from an SMS) and a 2A03. PM me if you're interested...
  10. It most certainly will, and you can also switch the SOPHIA to output component if you don't feel like dealing with trying to get an RGB setup going.
  11. Except for the two Wondermega models which have S-video out of the box...
  12. That looks pretty sharp, I've been waiting for one of these projects to come along since my CV died and it looks like this might be the one.
  13. I had an S-video mod in my 5200 and I replaced it with the SOPHIA board over a year ago. In my case I used an 8-pin mini-DIN jack for the output instead of the DB9 connector that Simius provided, and swapped out the old S-video connector with it. Didn't have to drill any additional holes and the video output is perfect, never going back to S-video again after this.
  14. That won't work, it's too shallow and the pin pitch is way off.
  15. Finally got around to wiping the list on the first post as I was getting PMs for items on the list that weren't mine, and the list hadn't been updated since 2011. I'm too busy offline these days to maintain it, so if anyone wants to start a new thread and maintain it they can feel free to do so. I'm going to contact Al and ask him to unpin this once someone creates a new thread.

    WTB: XE Light Gun

I'm willing to sell mine, it's hardly been used and it still has both stickers on the sides! Maybe $20 plus shipping?
  17. They seem to work quite well with the Genesis 2 and X'Eye, the voltage is a little bit lower than the original PSUs for those but it gets stepped down to 5V anyway. If you really wanted to, you could build little adapter dongles so you can use it with a multitude of systems, this is actually what I do for most of my consoles.
  18. Can we get detailed pics of the board? Also what power supply are you using?
  19. I have the SOPHIA mod on my 5200, it’s incredible and the video quality is even better than the S-vid mod that I had. It also helps since I have an OSSC as my main setup now and I don’t have to worry about using an external transcoder since the 5200 now has RGB.
  20. Loose games aren't as expensive as they used to be I've noticed, and that seems to be the case with a lot of pre-crash stuff. I remember it all peaking around 2003/2004 and it just started sliding down from there.
  21. Any chance of an SG-1000 adapter or is this gonna be CV only?
