  1. I don't get it. I don't see why I should pay over $40 for an old video game system. Now don't get me wrong, I love classic games, but I don't want to become a serious collector like you guys are. I just wanna get the games I actually enjoy playing instead of enjoying staring at a rare game in a display case. And that's why I believe classic gaming should be affordable to everyone.

Well I collect games and play. Like common loose games, I play those. And if it's a very rare game and I want to play, it I'd just get CPUWiz to make me a repro.

BTW, about high console costs... *COUGH* atari7800.com *COUGH* like $179 for an Atari 7800... thats a bit too much IMO.

Exactly. I believe a basic 7800 pack (console, 2 Pro-Lines, power supply, switchbox, Pole Position II) should be worth $20. Now $179, that's WAYYYY too much.

Most Outdated: NES ( XEGS came out 87-88 )

Best System IMO: Tie (SMS & NES)

Worst System IMO: XEGS (havent played 7800 that much!!)

Actually, the reason why I said the XEGS was the most outdated was because it was still based on the 400/800 computers, which were made in 1979. The NES dates back to 1983.

  6. I just played Quadrun on z26, and it's pretty good! Since it's so rare, I've decided to make a repro of it. It's easy right? I mean, all I have to do is get a common cart like Combat or Pac-Man, take out the guts, peel off the labels, burn an EPROM, put it on a new PCB, put it in the cart shell, then print the labels out, right? BTW, what kind of paper do I need to make a Quadrun label?

  7. Alright Jasoco, lemme explain the SMS 2 in better detail...

The SMS 2 was released in 1990 when Sega of America got the copyrights of the SMS back from Tonka. Besides being smaller and not having a card slot, it also doesn't have a reset button or an A/V port. It also has Alex Kidd in Miracle World built-in. It's very easy to find in Europe, Australia, and Brazil, but quite rare over here. BTW, it sold for $50.

  8. Yes, Xbox 1.2 will be a scant 6 acres in footprint surface area.

YOU ALL FORGOT MASTER SYSTEM 3! Yes, it exists.

    What's a Master System 3? When was there a 2?

Or are you just confused and thinking Sega Genesis 2 and 3?

The Master System 3 was only sold in Brazil, and it's basically a rebadged SMS 2.

  9. Oh yeah, I have a Nomad. It's pretty great, despite the amount of juice it takes. I got mine from a friend for FREE!!! He said he had Genesis games and a Genesis console at one point, but they were missing. He eventually found some missing games a few months after that, and gave those to me.
