  1. You can't play 7800 games on the 2600 for several reasons. 1st off, the 7800 games use the 7800's chipset, and second, the 7800 carts won't fit in the cart connector in the 2600.
  2. Oh yeah, Tramiel definetly had an anger problem. He yelled in his employees faces, banged his fist on his desk, and even did mass-firings.

  4. Here's a great deal on a 5200... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...0&category=3537 I'd get it if I weren't searching for a 600XL.
  5. So do you have a 600XL or an 800XL for me?
  6. Atari would have had a slightly better rep if ET was better, but you're forgetting about the glut of horrible 3rd-party games for the 2600 that caused the crash in the first place.
  7. Fav 2600 Games: 1. Missile Command 2. Solaris 3. Asteroids 4. Berzerk 5. Ms. Pac-Man Fav Multiplayer 2600 Games: 1. Warlords 2. Combat 3. Indy 500 (I'll be getting this one soon) 4. Air-Sea Battle 5. Video Olympics
  8. Why you... I have quotes to back up my claim! Sorry..No you don't. None of the quotes is, "XXX console rocks, all others suck!" While I did say C=64 was my favorite 8-bit system, I did NOT say 2600/7800/other consoles suck. In fact, I still play 2600 games very often. Ditto SNES/PS1/N64 games. I love multiple consoles. I'm not a fanboy. You lost the argument, because you made a ridiculous (and wrong) statement. Yes, but my quotes still show your fanboyism, Troy.
  9. Hey, this thread doesn't belong here. Post this again in the Marketplace forum.
  10. I'm trying to get a 600XL or 800 XL computer for the great games, but I can't really decide between the good ol' CX-40, the snazzy Pro-Line or the neat joypad. So which joystick works best for you?
  11. Ok, then what price do you suggest?
  12. Yes, but those computers are best remembered for their games, so they obviously have a place here at Classic Gaming Central.
  13. I just lost an auction for a NIB 600XL on eBay, and as most of you guys know, I just won a 1050 disk drive on eBay. So now I have a disk drive for a computer I don't have! Please help me out!
  14. The launch games were: Combat Star Ship Air-Sea Battle Blackjack Indy 500 Surround Street Racer Basic Math Video Olympics And the 2600 was launched on October 1977.
  15. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...27&category=169 Alright! I won a 1050 disk drive for my future 600XL! Now all I have to do is get a SIO2PC cable, and I'll be able to enjoy sweet gaming goodness!
  16. I'm getting a 600XL off eBay soon, so what games will work with the 600XL? I mean, it has 16 KB of memory, so I'm very sure some games won't work with it.
  17. Hey, I'm an 8th grader, and I like Atari too!
  18. Provide proof. Show us where ElectricTroy said that? HINT: I never did. Why you... I have quotes to back up my claim! "I think the reason I'm not impressed by the 2600 is because I own the Commodore=64 version which is obviously superior..." -from the Atari 2600 forum "1-Commodore=64" -from the Classic Gaming Central Forum "None of them. My favorite 8-bit system is a Commodore=64." -from the Atari 7800 forum "SID was the best musical chip in an 8-bit machine." -from the Atari 7800 forum "I KNOW that the SID is better than the POKEY."- from the Atari 7800 forum "IMHO the only 8-bit machine with sound worth hearing is the Commodore=64. The rest I just turn down the volume to barely audible."-from the Atari 7800 forum Now please don't lie again, Troy.
  19. And here's the last one! new_winzip_file__3_.zip
